The Neighbor
Contract of a StalkerIt was a good Sunday morning to start a fresh new day. The park was filled with kids playing on the green grass, catching butterflies flying around the field and parents looking for their children. What a nice view of families enjoying the day.
Though living on her own, Suzy always feel the presence of her family. Her father who always invites her to go fishing during Sundays and her mother who keeps on reminding her not to forget to buy pink roses for the vase. Her mother loves flowers especially roses just like her.
Along the park, Suzy noticed group of kids together with a familiar guy who was playing an acoustic guitar. She walked towards them and took a closer look. As she sat on the bench near them, the melody soothes her ears. It was lovely and catchy.
When the guitar stopped playing, the kids bid goodbye to the guitar man with happy faces. Probably, they enjoyed the music. Then, the guitar man walked towards Suzy, saying, “Hey, long time no see.”
Suzy smiled and nodded while saying, “Yeah. I wasn’t expecting that we’ll see each other again. After the note you left me saying that I should wipe my droll.”
Mark chuckled and sat beside Suzy. He looked at her from bottom to top weirdly and said, “Hmm, is it just me or your face looks brighter than before?”
“Really?” Suzy asked while touching her face. “Well, because my problems were lessen and I can already sleep very well during the night.”
Mark placed his palm on top of Suzy and smiled. “That’s good.”
Suzy furrowed her brows towards Mark. “Excuse me? Please no touch.”
“Oh!” Mark exclaimed and took away his palm from Suzy’s head. “Sorry.”
“Thank you.”
“For touching you?”
“What?! No!” Suzy exclaimed.
Mark laughed and nodded his head. “I know, I know. You’re welcome.”
“You’re crazy,” Suzy said and smiled.
Mark smiled and reached his hand saying, “No, I’m Mark. Mark Tuan. And you?”
Suzy chuckled and shook her head. She reached her hand and shook Mark’s hand. “Bae Suzy.”
“Cool.” They let go of each other’s hand and Mark asked, “Will we meet again?”
Suzy shrugged, saying, “I don’t know.”
Mark rubbed his chin and stood up from his seat. “Hopefully. I got to go. See you next Sunday here at the same time.”
