Two days went by fast as Seoyun and Mrs Ji found themselves waiting at the check-in for Air Korea at Boston airport. The mother daughter duo didn’t really talk to each other, as both was in a daze. After checking-in both of them made their way towards the airport food court. Seoyun looked over at her mother who was looking the plane outside the window of the airport and huffed she couldn’t take the silence anymore, she was about to speck when Mrs Ji spoke.

“I know you don’t want to go, and the truth is I don’t want you to leave as well” Mrs Ji said looking away to avoid eye contact

“If you don’t want me to leave than why are you making me” seoyun questioned no understanding her mother’s actions.

 “You know your father as the bad man you got me pregnant and when you were born decided to ship us away here and I don’t want you to think like that anymore” Mrs Ji stated finally looking up at her daughter

“But it’s true” seoyun pointed out

“Yes but I understand why he made that decision” Seoyun was about to interrupt, when Mrs Ji continued “Your father worked hard to be where he was and still is working hard, me having you would’ve jeopardise all his hard work, his career”

“So what you’re saying is I’m a mistake” seoyun could feel her heart slowly breaking

Mrs Ji eyes widened at the words feeling her pain as well. Standing up Mrs Ji made her in front of her daughter taking her face into her hands, seoyun refused to make eye contact.

“Ji Seoyun I want you to never say that sentence ever again” Seoyun didn’t reposed

“You are the most important person in my life and I need you to never forget that”

Seoyun melted at the words, she couldn’t hold it in any longer. Putting her mother into a tight hug she broke into tears, Mrs Ji broke down into eyes herself. After a few minutes of crying pulling away from each other and helping each other clean their tears away, the duo took their seats.

“You know me Yun I like thing everything happens for a reason” Mrs Ji sighed while seoyun only nodded and smiling slightly hearing her nickname from her mother.

‘FLIGHT TO SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA IS NOW BOARDING’

Picking up her carry-on bag, both seoyun and Mrs turned to each eyes getting.

“Look after yourself, make sure you eat all your meals, stay safe and don’t wonder alone at night”

Seoyun chuckled “Yes, yes and yes and mom I’ll be fine look after yourself too”

Mrs Ji smiled sadly “You should go I love you, I’ll miss you and call me when you can” Mrs Ji pulled seoyun into a hug.

“I will I love you too bye Umma”

“Bye sweetie take care”

Waving seoyun made her towards the plane just before entering she turned around looking at her mother last time, when the duo made eye contact seoyun sent her mother a flying kiss with teary eyes. Seeing her daughter enter the plane Mrs Ji let her tears free, crying the way home.

Seoyun entered the plane where she found out her seat was in the first class section pecks I guess. The flight was for a little over 10 hours. For the first couple of hours seoyun watched a random movie on the small screen, soon her drifted to sleep.

 The plane landed in Seoul at 1:15am, being fast asleep seoyun didn’t even realise the plane landed until she found herself getting shaken awake, looking up at an air hostess telling her she has arrived. Getting up sketching her limbs to get rid of stuffiness, looking around seeing she’s the only one left on the plane. Feeling slightly embarrassed she made her way outside, seeing the amount of Korean writing within the airport she became extremely thankful towards her mother for forcing her to learn Korean.

After collecting her baggage seoyun decided to stand at a random spot around the pick area. Her mother told her someone will be there to pick her up and just look out for your name. While looking around couldn’t help but to feel nervous. What happens if he doesn’t like me? Or thinks I’m worthless? What should I do? What am I even supposed to call him? Appa? Mr Yang?

Seoyun quietly groaned, confused not knowing what to do or how to act towards her ‘father’. Seoyun started massaging her temples in frustration until she felt someone tapping her right shoulder. She turned her head slightly to see a middle aged man wearing black suit.

“Can I help you” seoyun questioned

“Are you Miss Ji Seoyun” the man questioned her with his eyes almost scanning her.

Seoyun took a step back in slight fear “I am and who are you?

“Hello Miss Ji I’m here to pick and drop you on behalf of Mr Yang” the man stated

Seoyun looked at him with suspicion “Prove it”

“Very well” that’s all the man said taking out his mobile phone calling someone, seoyun didn’t trust people easily it took a while for her 100% trust someone. The man spoke on the phone for a couple of minutes until handed the phone to Seoyun.

“Hello” Seoyun spoke in her best confident voice

“Hello this YG, trust Mr Baek he’ll take you to the apartment I bought for you I’ll sent someone tomorrow to bring you to my company”

“Y-yes sir” seoyun wanted to slap herself for strutting and for calling him sir

“Goodbye” before Seoyun could say goodbye he hanged out and only a beeping sound could be hear. Seoyun sighed giving the phone back to ‘Mr Baek’ looking at him Seoyun could see the man wanted to laugh. Seoyun gave him a look, the man raised his hands up in defence.

“Shall we go now” Mr Baek Asked, seoyun only nodded following him outside.

“Wait here while I’ll quick bring the car” the man said running off not even waiting for an answer.

Couple of minutes later a black car stopped right in front of seoyun.

 Mr Baek came out taking out her bag placing it in the truck, Mr Baek Opened the door for Seoyun. During the ride to her new apartment seoyun couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable with the treatment she was getting. After half an hour the car arrived in front a fancy building.

 Stepping out the car seoyun was about to take her own bag out but Mr Baek beat her to it. “Follow me please” walking the building Mr Baek told her to stay still until he comes back with her apartment room number and keys. During the wait seoyun took the time to look at her surroundings it was obvious that only wealth people could afford living here.

“Okay your room number is 1107 on level 11, would you like me to take you”

“No I’m fully capable going myself” Seoyun replied

“Very well I’ll see you soon” the man smile

“Thank you Mr Baek” Seoyun returned the smile. She waited for man to leave before making her to the elevators. Seoyun could only think about one thing which was sleep, it was 2:21am in Seoul. Hearing a ‘ping’ sound as the elevator doors opened walking in she pressed 11 button, just about the doors were about to close she hear a husky scream ‘hold the elevator’ looking up the see a boy running his way the elevator seoyun rapidly started pressing the open button. The guy ran in leaning on the wall inside for support breathing heavily, seoyun glanced at him in worry.

“Are you okay?” seoyun asked quietly, the man only nodded stilling looking down trying to catch his breath. Seoyun continued looking at him is worry. A few seconds later the man looked his small eyes meeting seoyun, her eyes widened in shock stepping back. The man put on a goofy grin making his eyes look smaller.

“Thank you for waiting most people even take a second glance” the man said still grinning. Seoyun only nodded

“You’re on the same level of me, are you new here” the man questioned Seoyun nodded.

The doors opened again but this time on floor 11. The man made a gesture for her to go first, stepping out looked left and right not knowing what way to go. She turned to ask the man but he beat her.

“Do you need help” this time he didn’t have a goofy grin on he was smiling softly at her, seoyun felt her heart skip a beat

Clearing her voice looking at the ground before she asked “Can you help me find apartment 1107 please”

The man starting laughing making seoyun look up at him in confusion.

“That’s actually right next door to me” Seoyun found herself laughing too at the new found information

“Follow me” the duo walked to her apartment

“Thank you for your help” seoyun smiled turning around to open the door. A tap stopped seoyun from entering. Turned around to see the man with his hand out

“My name is Kim Jiwon but everyone calls me Bobby” seoyun lifted her hand for the handshake

“Nice to meet you Bobby my name is Ji Seoyun”

Both of them meet eyes again this time neither of them looked away for couple of minutes.

“You should go inside and rest now” bobby whispered

Seoyun noddled about to turn around until she realised bobby was holding her hand

“I kinda need my hand back” making bobby laugh letting go

“Sorry”

“It’s okay”

Just before seoyun closed her door bobby called her name from outside, poking her head out she saw walking backwards

“I’ll see you around seoyun” bobby said grinning

Seoyun nodded and a small blush on her face.
