SEVERAL DAYS LATER

I guess that's all of my patients.

I gather all of the charts together and take a breath when Sungyeol returns.

"Sungyeol."

"Yes..?" Sungyeol asked

"Im suddenly feed up, is there anything i can do to be some help?"

"...If you'll like,here," Sungyeol suggested

He holds a chart out to me, and i take it.

"Song Hyemi"

"Check up on her."

"Okay."

A terminal cancer patient...He's already been told that he doesn't have much time left. The nurse in charge is... Kang Sora.

"Nurse Sora?"

"Yes?" Sora replied.

"Sungyeol asked me to check in with Miss Song," I recalled.  "Would now be a good time for you?"

"Sure. He's in a single-occupancy room. I'll get everything ready."

"A single..."

"That's right. It's 10,000 bucks at night"

"Im at the end of my life. I just want to go on my own way. I guess that makes me selfish.." She said

"..Im going to start the examination, okay?" I recalled.

~Next Morning

"Miss Song, Good morning. How are you feeling today?"

"The hospital says i should leave," stated Miss Song. "We should do what they say."

"This is crazy!" yelled her mom, " Even though it's against wishes of the family!  "You're not going anywhere."

"Please calm down. I'm going to go talk with sombody about this."

"Sungyeol!" I yelled in the office

"..What is it?" Sungyeol asked

"Was Miss Song discharged?"

"Yeah." 

"Why...?" Is it because you wanted to freee up his room?"

Sungyeol falls silent.

"His family wants him to continue receiving treatment here. They say that having him under our care gives them peace of mind."

"So what?" Sungyeol spoke.

"Don't discharge him!"

"I cant do that. The next patient is waiting."

"And by that do you mean...You're doing this for Lee Minho.."

Sungyeol looked at me with a serious look.

"I am his primary doctor. It's my decision."

I looked shocked at him.

Unbelievable...He's the same as the director after all. In the end, it was all a show. His real priority is whatever interests the hospital. Whatever happened to, 'All want is to hep as many patients as i can'? And I thought he was trustworthy...

We've recevied a request from a politician in need of surgery,"the director stated seriously."Matters of health are critical to a politician's career.
