PROLOGUE

The phoenix is a mythical bird that is a fire spirit with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet. It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle.

The griffin is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. As the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle was the king of the birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature.

In the magical world filled with witches, wizards and other mythical or legendary creatures, the phoenix is a rare but one of the most powerful creatures born within after every thousand years and has the power to control fire. A griffin on the other hand is born within after seven hundred years. The griffin’s power is not as powerful as the phoenix’s. The griffin holds the power to control water.

For millions of years, never has it been that the phoenix and the griffin were alive at the same time. It had always been the male gender bearing the mark of the phoenix and griffin and they always came from a ruler's family.

The Phoenix and the griffin were never alike. The given years to them are just the minimum years. Some holds the mark after a million years.

After years of waiting, the ruler’s wife of the Kingdom of Hanglenton gave birth to a baby girl who held the great marks. The first in history.

Thus, the legend of Athena begins.
