She grabbed her phone and cursed herself for dealing with him, "What?" 

Dead silence.

"I'm not talking to air you know." 

"I just realized our conversation never consisted of hellos." He sounded strangely guileless as he said this.

She was thrown off game with his sudden statement. "So-"

"How about we try this again." Cheerful. 

There was a pause as she tried to figure out whether this was a no-respond-needed type of statement or not.

"You start or-"

He took the lead, "Y-ello." 

"Hi." 

"NO-O-O! You were supposed to say blue." The line crackled as he shouted.

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"What you just-"

"Vat?" He tried an accent this time. 

"Huh?" 

There was an impossibly long pause where the only sound picked up by the line were both of their breathing. It felt incredibly intimate to her, but surely she couldn't say that out loud at this point of the stupid phone call. 

 And then, all of a sudden,  rough and boyish through the line, sounding incredibly amused, "You were saying?" 

She promptly hung up after that. 

So sorry! But I got the chapters messed up and posted the wrong one first!!! >.<
