“Taku-kun~ let me see the letter!” Kurumi said as she tried to take the letter from Takumi's hand

 

“Here, Kurumi” Takumi gave the letter to her

 

“It’s really the same letter~ wah it’s been a while for Ririone-sama to send us letters, right Taku-kun?” Kurumi said and grinned

 

“Yeah, you are right, Kurumi” Takumi said and patted her head

 

“Let’s go together, Kurumi!” Rin chuckled as a spoon of soup entered

 

“Sure!” Kurumi nodded and smiled even wider

 

“Now-now, before you guys go, why don’t you guys finish your breakfast first?” I said to both of them

 

“Oops, the prince is angry, let’s finish this up quickly” Takumi teased me, oh God, this devil is so annoying

 

“You, shut up…” I said and frowned to him

 

“Hure~” Takumi replied me unclearly with mouth full of breads

 

After making sure the plates were all empty, all of us went to the City Hall to meet Ririone-sama.

Oh yes, if you are wondering who Ririone-sama is, he is a great magician who has helped both of the sides that made him has a great influence in both sides, well at least that’s what I was told.

 

When we arrived there, it was not only the four of us, but there were several devils and angels there

 

“Whoa…who are these guys?” I said in almost inaudibly voice before Rin suddenly tugged me with her elbow

 

“You really don’t know who they are, Rihito? Even the ones from the angel clan?” Rin whispered to me

 

“Yeah…you know, I’ve been skipping a lot of your classes…ittai!” I replied but Rin suddenly hit my head, “…what’s your problem!?” I added as I looked at Rin’s angry face

 

“Hah…you are really…geez, as your teacher I can’t let you be like this! I will tell you their names…” Rin sighed as she turned back to Kurumi and Takumi

 

“Kurumi, Takumi, I guess I should go with Rihito for a while, we need to greet some people” Rin said as she smiled softly to them

 

“Oh sure thing, I want to greet everyone as well, let’s go, Taku-kun!” Kurumi said as she and Takumi went to the opposite direction

 

“Now, listen, we start from the angel clan…look at that creepy guy with glasses?” Rin said as she carefully pointed at a guy who was reading a thick book

 

“Uh huh” I nodded as my eyes followed Rin’s finger

 

“He a genius, well, you can say, the smartest angel alive, his name is Yamato” Rin said as she lowered her finger as soon as this Yamato guy turned to us confusedly

 

“Good morning, Yamato” Rin greeted him first with a stiff smile on her lips

 

“Oh, good morning, Rin, Prince Rihito” Yamato replied then turned back his attention to the book

 

“Yo, morning!” I replied with my usual grin but he just ignored me, “err…” I stared at him with my are-you-serious-? eyes

 

“Hah…” Rin sighed

 

“Why are you sighing?” I peered into her face that somehow looked nervous

 

“I am always nervous every time I talk to him, his gaze is too intimidating, you know” Rin said then cleared her own throat, “…let’s continue, do you see those two? The ones with pink hair” she added and pointed at a girl and a boy with pink hair, the girl has this short hairstyle while the boy has a kind of messy hairstyle

 

“Yes…who are they? The boy looks weird…though” I whispered to Rin

 

“Don’t say that, aho!” Rin scolded me in small voice as she hit my head once again, “they are Avril and Avardeen, they are great alchemists, you know, though Avril has a weird hobby” she explained

 

“Weird hobby? What is her hobby? She looks normal though” I asked while blinking my eyes several times

 

“You will see it later” Rin said then looked around as she mumbled “next is…aha…see that girl with pink twin-tailed?” she said and pointed at a short girl

 

“I somehow…” I said as I tried to remember her name but cannot help it, “…who is she again?” I added without glancing at Rin

 

“Hah…” Rin sighed for like the 100^th time today, “she is Minette, a lady from a noble family who just paid us a visit several days ago” she added in desperate tone, “days, Rihito…days, not weeks or months” she tapped my forehead several times

 

“Oh…! That’s why I think I have ever seen her” I replied and shoved Rin’s hand away from my forehead

 

“Humm…those two…! I can’t believe to see them here” Rin said as her eyes got widened and…twinkling? Wait…why does she get excited all of sudden?

 

“Who?” I said as my gaze followed Rin’s and saw two girls stood side by side, one has the same hair color as rose, while another one is blonde and is tied up in a ponytail style with a flower-like ribbon, “Elesis?” I exclaimed as soon as I saw the leader of the knights from Angel’s Kingdom

 

“They are Elesis and Leafa…well, since you already know about Elesis I will explain who Leafa is” Rin said as she pointed at me, “she is like Minette, a lady from a noble family though she has no similiarity to her uhm...she is more like you” she added while pointing at me

 

“Like me?” I said confusedly

 

“Yep, those two like to be in the forest rather than to be in the castle…just like you, right?” Rin said as I sighed in respond, “that’s why I cannot believe they want to show up at this kind of formal event” she added and chuckled to herself

 

“You are weird, Rin” I said then threw my gaze around the City Hall, “why don’t you start introducing those devils to me as well, Rin?” I said without looking at her

 

“Fine-fine…you should have known them though…” Rin said as she pulled my hand and moved to another spot

 

“Okay…that lady in black dress and twin-tailed hairstyle named Kirai, she has a really scary magic” Rin said as she pointed at a girl’s with twin-tailed hairstyle and black-lace dress’ back, her eyes are scarily bloody red, she was talking with a blonde man

 

“Scary?” I asked as I felt nervous all of sudden, probably because of her scary appearance as well

 

“She can turn anything into stone, people said she has medusa’s bloodline in hers, but I don’t know the detail” Rin said and raised both of her shoulders

 

“Whoa…” I widened my eyes upon hearing them as I stared at her back in awe

 

“Next, that blonde guy with hammer earing, he looks like an angel but trust me…he is a devil” Rin said as if she tried to warn me while pointing at the blonde guy

 

“Hm?” I said and stared at the guy who is smiling cheerfully at Kirai

 

“He can get any kind of information, even the secret ones. His name is Leicester and if I am not mistaken, he is that rude-pink-haired devil’s cousin” Rin added the information about Leicester

 

“Oh Takumi’s cousin? Ho…” I nodded several times

 

“Those three guys who are standing side by side over there are Ren, Edith and Vjour” Rin said while pointing at those guys

 

“Which one is Ren?” I asked as I confusedly stared at the three men who were standing to each other

 

“The one with an eye-patch” Rin replied shortly

 

“Why is he wearing an eye-patch?” I asked as I glanced at Rin

 

“People said that he is a mixed” Rin replied, “between a devil and a ghoul, I think” she added

 

By ‘mixed’, Rin means that certain someone has two or more bloodlines in his/hers. A mixed can be really dangerous, especially when she/he has both Angel and Devil’s bloodline.

 

“Oh I see” I nodded, “then how about Edith?” I continued to ask

 

“The one who is standing in the middle and wears goggles around his neck…oh yes, he has many kinds of magic prank even some people call him as ‘Edith the prankster’ and if you ask me, I don’t want to mess around with that kind of person” Rin said and whispered to me

 

“Prank?” I asked

 

Rin nodded, “for example, he can change your gender” she added

 

“Ha?” I looked at Rin totally confused, “well…I probably will stay away from him as well, I still love being a boy, anyway, so that brown haired guy is Vjour, then?” I asked as I pointed at the guy with brown haired

 

“Yep, he is a doctor, from what I heard, he works for the royal family from Devil's Clan, which is Kurumi's family, though” Rin replied as she tried to recall every memory she has

 

“Cool...So he has the same kind of magic as yours, Rin?” I said as I threw a glance at her

 

“Yes but his level is perfectly on the different level, and the last but not least, is that pirate girl” Rin said and pointed at a girl with pirate hat, “her name is Lire, she is well known around the sea” she added

 

“Around the sea?” I asked, in total confusion

 

“Yep, she is known as the first ‘Pirate Queen’ since basically the greatest pirates’ titles are almost dominated by men” Rin said as she tapped her chin

 

“Anyway…Rin, how can you know all of them that well?” I asked after nodding several times at her explanation

 

“Because I know them since we were…” Rin murmured before shaking her had then showed me a desperate expression, “man…Rihito, I bet you are the only one who don’t know about them in the town” she added with both of her hands on her waist

 

“Huh?” I frowned slightly, what’s wrong with Rin?

 

“They are really famous for their magic or fighting style, y’know” Rin sighed

 

“Are they really that strong?” I asked as I wondered if I could beat them up someday

 

“Well…since ‘strong’ is relative, what I can only say now is that you cannot defeat them by yourself now, well they cannot defeat you as well if you go one-on-one” Rin explained

 

“Whoa…” I said in awe and looked at them again, one by one

 

“Now…why don’t we greet everyone like Kurumi and Takumi do?” Rin said after glancing at Kurumi, I literally ignored Rin as I lost in my own mind, man what are those powerful devils doing here?

 

“Kurumiiiii~” Ren ran toward Kurumi and suddenly hugged her, okay what is this?

 

“Ren, don’t hug me right after you saw me” Kurumi said but yeah she hugged him back, tch, annoying, “well, what are you doing here, Ren” she asked him

 

“The others and I got the same invitations and it asked us to come here” Ren said and released his hug after being pulled by Takumi “Takumi, let go of my collar!” he added

 

“If I let you go, you will definitely hug Kurumi again” Takumi said while kept holding his collar

 

“Can't I? I am not like you who get the chance to spend time with Kurumi everyday~” Ren said as he struggled

 

“Shut up, you are being too noisy~” Takumi said ignoring Ren’s complain

 

“Yo, long time no see, Takumi” Leicester patted Takumi’s shoulder and smiled

 

“Long time no see, Leicester! How is your sister’s condition now?” Takumi replied him with a smile as well

 

“Licolle is all better now, and she missed you” Leicester said while laughed

 

“Really? Hahaha I will pay her a visit later” Takumi said and laughed

 

“Well hello, Minette~ how’s your dance practice?” Rin asked Minette, she is really childish lady who wants everyone to call her as princess

 

“It’s getting better, Rin~ I wish I could show you my new moves” Minette said while grinned

 

Kurumi, Takumi, Rin and I chatted with everyone there…well not everyone, we can say that angels chatted with angels and devils chatted with devils.

 

Not too long after that, there was a man with a trumpet, he blew his trumpet and Ririone-sama stood on the stage.

 

“Good morning everyone” Ririone-sama said to all of us

 

“Good morning, Ririone-sama” we all said and bowed to him

 

“Well, I know, you guys must be curious about the invitation, right? And about the people who got invited to here, today right?” he said and we only nodded

 

“So…I bet you all know how’s Angels and Devils’ relationship nowadays. It is very different with the one when I was a little boy back then, and I wish I, with everyone’s help, can fix the problem and the relationship” he said again

 

“Fix? How? War? Nah, it will make it worse after all” I thought

 

“Not with war, of course, Prince Rihito” Ririone-sama glanced toward my way, oh God…I forgot he is a mind-reader

 

“And also…not everyone wants this to keep continuing, Yamato” Ririone-sama said as he glanced at Yamato

 

“U-Ugh…” Yamato slapped his own forehead, it seemed he probably forgot that Ririone-sama is able to read other people’s mind as well

 

Well it’s kind of annoying, having a-mind-reader between us, I mean.

 

“I hear that, Prince Rihito” Ririone-sama sighed and frowned at me

 

“Oops” I said as I looked away in a blink

 

“Well…” Ririone-sama sighed once again, “let me get back to the main topic, guys…” he added then cleared his throat

 

“I want you guys to go to an adventure and I mean all of you, have to join, as teams that consists of 4 for each, and the members are will be chosen randomly by me” he said again and took out a box with a hole on the top

 

“I will read the name of the team members here, and the name will appear on the screen above” he said again and sat and started taking out a piece of paper

 

“I hope we are in the same group.” Rin whispered to me, I gave her a nod

 

“Group one, Kurumi, Rin, Takumi and Rihito” he said and our names appeared on the screen. Wait…what? I’m in the same team with devils?

 

“Kurumiiii~ we are not in the same group” Ren said to Kurumi, and Kurumi only patted his shoulder and said “sorry Ren~” with a smile

 

“For Group 2, Yamato, Leicester, Minette, and Kirai” he announced and their names appeared on the screen as the Group 2

 

“Now, let’s move on to Group 3…Ren, Avril, Avardeen, and Edith” then their names also appeared on the screen

 

“Okay, the last but not least…Group 4, well you all know who your teammates are, but I will announce them as well” he said again and took 4 pieces of paper from the box

 

“Elesis, Vjour, Leafa, and Lire, now go to your own group’s spot to see your teammates and…re-know each other first” Ririone-sama said

 

“Re-know?” I murmured and looked at Ririone-sama confusedly but before I could protest any further, Rin dragged me with her to Group 1’s spot and saw Kurumi and Takumi have stood there already

 

“Kurumi~” Rin said and hugged Kurumi as soon as we saw them

 

“We are in the same team yay~ at least I have known all of my teammates!” Kurumi said and hugged Rin back

 

“So, we are in the same group, easily-to-be-upset prince.” Takumi said and tugged my shoulder.

 

“Stop calling me like that, you stupid devil” I said and looked at him

 

“See? You are upset again” he said and laughed

 

“Yeah-yeah whatever” I said and looked around and saw the other groups. Well, they were going well with each other.

 

“So, let me explain about the game.” Ririone-sama said and we all listened to him

 

“First of all, you guys will be guided by my bubbles to go to the place named Mahō no Sekai. I believe you guys know how dangerous that place, right?” he said to us

 

“Yes, Ririone-sama” we all answered together

 

“And you know that the most dangerous monster, Holly, lived there, right? What you have to do is defeat that monster and take our diamond, Kuroshiroi Diamond, from her, the team that is able to take the diamond from the monster is the winner” he said again and threw maps to us

 

“That map will become a really big help for you guys there” he added and sat on his seat again

 

Rin took the map for our team and opened it. I could see that that land is divided into several parts they are level 0, level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4, level 5 and the castle itself.

 

“And this” Ririone-sama threw rolls of paper to each team, this time Takumi caught it. He opened the role and read it for us

 

“Okay level 0 called Oublié City, level 1 called Frostland, level 2 called Meadowdell Ocean, level 3 called Oakhollow, level 4 called Faylea, level 5 called Storyland, and the castle called Castle of Arvendon” he read all the names of the places in that Mahō no Sekai.

 

I could see all the members also read the names and looked at the maps, but the names are too weird.

 

“The names are weird….” I could hear Leicester said from his spot, oh yes our spots are close to each other’s

 

“There must be reasons why the places being named like that” Yamato answered Leicester

 

“Have you ever been to there, Avardeen?” Edith asked Avardeen, and Avardeen only shook his head silently

 

“I have ever gone to Oublié City with Lire actually” Vjour said and kept staring at the map

 

“Well it is named as Oublié City because if you are too careless you might forget where you are, who your teammates are or the most dangerous is you might even forget about yourself” Lire said and fixed her pirate hat

 

“Lire is right, but well you guys only know about level 0, right? You guys will know why the places are called like that when you arrive there” Ririone-sama said then smiled to us

 

“I guess this game…no, this adventure is not as easy as you guys think it will be” Leafa said

 

“I…I am afraid…” Minette whined as she looked down at her feet

 

“Minette, don’t be scared, we, group 2, are here to protect you from anything including those disgusting animals” Kirai said and patted Minette’s head

 

“Well…Kirai, thank you so much, but animals are not disgusting, they are cute!” Minette said and looked at Kirai and puffed her cheeks

 

“Cute? Oh my God, they are not, they are really annoying creatures” Kirai said and folded her arms and looked away

 

“NO! They are fun and cute living creatures” Minette said with angry voice, then suddenly a fly flew in front of Kirai

 

“Is this something you called cute? Pft boom” Kirai snarked and turned that fly into rock

 

“…HEY! You shouldn’t kill that fly!” Minette said angrily and kneel down to take that rock fly

 

“What? I only turned it into rock, I didn’t even kill it, okay” Kirai said with angry voice too

 

“It’s the same! It cannot even move anymore, isn’t it the same that it’s died already!?” Minette said even angrier

 

“Geez, shut up or I will turn you into rock as well” Kirai said and looked angrily at Minette

 

“Okay-okay, that’s enough, we are all in the same team. We cannot hurt each other, okay? We need to be able to cooperate with each other” Leicester said and separated them

 

“I am worried about this group” Yamato said and touched his forehead and looked down

 

“Why don't we just start the game now?” Leafa said and grinned at all of us

 

“Impatient as usual, huh? She is your partner in every adventures you have, right?” Avril said and tugged Elesis’ hand

 

“Yeah, she is the happy virus” Elesis said and chuckled, she is very mature, and also the most mature among all of us.

 

“I wish you a good luck guys… just protect each other like you used to be and everything’s gonna be fine” he said and smiled to us

 

What?  I have never protected someone else…other than Rin…and Kurumi

 

“Like…we used to?” Leafa said and looked at him “So…it’s true…” she said with small voice and nodded, just as I was about to ask Leafa about that, Ririone-sama took the microphone and shouted cheerfully

 

“Yap! Enough with the reunion…er I mean with the small chat! Let’s start the game, now!” as some bubbles appeared around us and we flew away to Mahō no Sekai.
