Private Kim
Five nights at SUJUThe man said it had belonged to his grandfather. A '50's corvette unused. He had gotten the car a week before being drafted to the Korean War. I felt guilty giving the money for it, but once I sat behind that wheel I felt joy.
As I was handed the deed, I noticed an old enveloped addressed to whom ever my car is sold to.
I smiled and drove off. Once home I sat down on my couch and opened the letter:
To whoever has my car,
My name is Private Kim Ryeowook, and I never came home. This car was bought with a promise to my fiancé that I would come home safely. I love this car and the woman who came with it. Please love this car and let it drive you to your loved one like it did me."
I finished reading and smiled. I loved the car indeed. I drove it everywhere until one rainy night when I took a curve to fast and fell to a fiery crash. I could barely move and I figured I was dead, but a soldier stood above me.
His soft brown eyes looked into my own, the old style military uniform struck me as odd. He was also strong for his short size.
"You are safe Yesung." The voice was soft like the wind before I passed out. No one but me saw him.
