Luhan has been running for most of his life. Running from a past he wishes he could forget. Running from a life he wishes he never has to live. He drowns his sorrows in drink and drugs, reaching for the first hand that catches, breaking apart a little more when they let go.

Yixing is a sweet boy who loves his parents and the people around him just a tad too much. He is always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asks. However, he is never the first priority for anyone, everyone always believing that he is much too strong to ever be bogged down by anything. 

So when Luhan breezes into town, with shadows hanging on his shoulders, haunted by demons no one can see, Yixing feels the strongest urge to wrap him in his arms and keep the boy safe.

Luhan makes it easy, with his wistful smiles and his need to be loved. Luhan is everything Yixing needs- quiet but needy, affectionate and open. Most importantly, Yixing is important to Luhan, always the first hand he reaches out to in the dark.

When Luhan panics and has to run again, he offers his hand to Yixing, who declines it with a gentle smile.

"When you need a place to settle your moving seat, I'll be waiting."

The last image that Luhan sees of Yixing is of him smiling and waving, with tears down his face as he holds the blankets to his waist. Luhan has never regretted his choices more.
