Park Shin Hye's POV:

15 days left... 15 days left... 15 days left till my birthday. That's right, and I couldn't take it any longer than that. Maybe because, other days are just so, so typical and boring. But my birthday... It's true that I don't do anything that special, but my birthday itself is really special. Actually, I don't bring a cake to my house, I don't like to be traditional. But I do make a wish, yes I do. Before I sleep I make one, and every year, it's the same wish as always. Even though it's supposed to be a secret, I'm going to tell it to you. I wish I could find my other half, and fall in love with him so we could live happily ever after... But, all I can meet right now is boys who think they're so cool, flirting with me, while they're actually not -.- And while I was drowning with my thoughts, my mother called me from downstairs.

"Shin hye, come here! We have guests! I have to tell you something..."

"I'm coming!" I replied. Suddenly, I realized I was wearing my pyjamas. Yup, that's right. I spend all of my day wearing my pyjamas. Actually, I rarely go out of the house. I just wore typical, cool jeans with a white T-shirt and sneakers. I precipitated downstairs, and I freezed when i saw, a tall, and good-looking guy (I guess), with two adults, who sounded like his parents, even though they looked really young. That guy sounded probably my age, maybe 1 or 2 years older... His hair was black, and he was staring at me. In fact, not only him. EVERYBODY, including my mother, was staring at me.

"Sit down, darling." she said. So I did. Then, she continued:

"Shin Hye, honey. Meet Mr. and Mrs. Lee, and their son, Min Ho. Lee Min Ho."

So Lee Min Ho it is... My mother suddenly pinched me. I automatically knew what to do. I stood and bowed to all three of them and announced myself:

"Hello, I'm Park Shin Hye. Nice to meet you all, make yourself at home."

"Not bad actually... we could pick her. She's the best amongst all the others. She really is beautiful." Mrs. Lee said, with a huge smile on her face.

I gave my mother the "what are they talking about" look. She understood me and confessed:

"Darling, it's not that I want to hurt you or anything. But you do know that we need money since your father left us nothing..." she said then stopped talking.

"Are you saying I should have a part-time job at a restaurant they have or something?" I asked her. What would she want me to do other than that to get the money?

"Not actually, darling... The truth is that, you have to... You have to marry their son, Shin hye. Their son has to be married for some reason I didn't understand since they own a really pig company. They said they would give us a big amount of cash. Sorry..." she replied, Then, there was a moment of silence until I shed a tear. I screamed at her:

"Why, mum? Are you selling your daughter just to earn that stupid money? Well, guess what? You and your money are both worse than each other! Can't you see that I'm dying from the inside right now? What did I do to you this time? What? What did I do..." I started crying and sobbing harder and harder. Then, I turned around to Mrs. Lee and screamed again:

"And you! Is this all you know to do? Buy people's daughter and force her to marry a guy she doesn't even know! And why me? Why did you choose me? Why?..."

"Daughter, please calm down. Your father and I, we were friends for awhile. He told me once you were a really, really great girl. He told me you were calm and intelligent. Beautiful, he said, and that's the truth. The wife my son has always wanted." Mrs. Lee replied.

I calmed down a little bit. It's true I was a calm person, but when I get really angry, I become like a human-monster. What made me even wanting to scream even more. So I did:

"So what? What he told you, it's all lies. I'm a monster, yes I am... And don't you dare call me "daughter" again!"

She remained calm. But, what everybody didn't excpect, is that her son spoke up:

"She's right. She's a monster. Why would I want to marry a crazy girl like her?" He said, eyeing me then walking out of the house. Mrs and Mr Lee apologized for their son's bad behavior. But my mother insisted:

"No, we have to apologize. My daughter isn't usually like this."

"We know..." Mrs. Lee said.

"I'll talk to her. Comeback anytime you want." Mum replied.

They nodded and went outside. My mother waited until the car drove away, stared at me, and said:

"You stupid girl! You ruined our chance of having a perfect life. Why did you do this? Why?"

"If I do this, the only one who's going to have a perfect life is you, mum! You're only thinking about yourself! My only wish was to marry someone I love, but you ruined it! I don't want to even call you "my mother" anymore..."

"He has money, shin hye! He can buy you castles, cars... You can even go to all the world's countries with him. Italy, spain, France..."

"So? Money can buy all those castles and cars and all those stupid things... And it can take me all over the world. But money, can't buy something. It can't buy love..."

"Shin Hye, you're watching too much dramas..."

I just continued to cry even harder and harder, and ended up going to my room and locking the door.  I sobbed and cried on my bed, not caring about a single thing. Not even about my birthday, neither my stupid wish. My mother started knocking on the door, but I didn't open it to her. She finally gave up and gave her last words:

"If you don't marry him, you're going to end up having those usual boring days again... Who knows? You might even fall for him." she said then walked away.

A part of what she said could be right... But of course not about me falling for him. There is no way I could fall in love with that kind of guy.... What do you think, reader? Should I marry him?
