Eventually, the Love Runs Out

Description

I was starting to read "A Father's Love" by raejhinah, and I saw the prompt the author used: "You don't give up on the people you love."

This struck me, hard, because I had to let go of someone who I once saw as my other half, my best friend, my sister. I fought so hard to keep us from falling apart, but I had to let go for my own sake. We tried to rekindle our friendship, but it was never the same. So I walked away from something that was a shadow of what we once were.

My answer is: "No, eventually, the love runs out."

Foreword

The days after Yifan walked out were a jumbled wreck of hurt, confusion, longing, anger. Mangled somewhere within that mess was love.

But eventually, the love runs out, leaving behind a mess of jagged edges and cold lines to straighten out and to move on from.
