Ch 9 [Painful Dream]
Touch[Painful Dream]
Jong Kook and Ji Hyo were in the middle of shopping for this and that in the supermarket when they approached the sampling corner. Looking around for something good, they came to a stop in front of the one selling minced short rib patties.
“Dong Hoon really likes this. Why don’t we get one?”
Ji Hyo started to pick up a couple of the minced short ribs patties when the ajumma stationed there approached them with shining eyes.
“Aigo, ya must be newlyweds! Try some of these, ya wouldn’t believe how good it is!”
Hearing the word 'newlywed' applied them, the two waved their hands in denial, smiling sheepishly. “Ah, we’re not married..” they said, laughing politely.
“S’that right? The two of you look so good together, hurry and get married or someth’n! The lady is so pretty, and you, young man, whew, you look as strong as ox, don’t ya?” she chattered, friendly and hearty as ajummas were wont to do.
They both turned red as a carrot, and hurriedly left after grabbing anything that the lady had recommended them. But still, their faces remained aflame even after the incident. Jong Kook rubbed the side of his cheek with the back of his hand and sneaked a glance at Ji Hyo. She seemed as embarrassed as he was, if her blush was anything to go by.
His eyes swept across her blushing cheeks and wide eyes, to the pointed nose, and then down to her lips, at which point Jong Kook whipped his face away.
What am I thinking?! Ya, Kim Jong Kook you’ve gone mad now is that it? Get yourself together… Ha….. He repriminded himself internally.
On the other hand Ji Hyo paid his troubled state no mind, instead running excitedly towards her favorite brand of premium ham.
Gary greeted the two of them back from the shopping trip.
“Hyung-nim, did you buy anything good?”
“You care about the food more than me, hm?” Jong Kook gave a knock on the drooling Gary’s head before taking the groceries to the kitchen.
“It’s a misunderstanding! I said hyung-nim first, didn’t I?” Gary laughed.
“Sunbae-nim! You bought minced short ribs? My favorite, minced short ribs… I’m so touched!” The two other men teased Dong Hoon who was almost on the verge of tears being unified with his short ribbed love. They were promptly kicked out of the kitchen by Ji Hyo however, with the reason they were being disruptive to her cooking attempts.
Jong Kook excused himself to the restroom.
Seeing Ji Hyo was busy cooking, Dong Hoon approached Gary. “Hee Gun-hyung, you know that a bodyguard isn’t supposed to have feelings for their client, right?”
Dong Hoon looked pointed at him.
“Huh? Oh, um, y-yeah…. Of course I know, but why are you bringing it up all of a sudden?”
“Hm…. Ji Hyo-ssi is pretty but…. Hyung…. You know you can’t, right?”
“I know…. I know, you punk.”
Gary let out a sigh and wiggled deeper into the sofa. He saw Jong Kook and Ji Hyo exchange gazes, laughing, within his mind's eye. If Dong Hoon ever found out about that, he felt the younger would be very disappointed in Jong Kook, and in the worst case, quit the mission. And he couldn’t even hide his own feelings for Ji Hyo either.
When he was younger, he had done all sorts of things and had
