Fated Coincidence

003 : “i'll look forward to working with you.”

— JANUARY 19, 2014 (13:24:12): STAR MUSEUM MODELING AGENCY HQ.

"Oh, look who's back. The DITCHERS."

"Minho, are you really behaving like a child in front of your hoobaes? You're one of the eldest here."

"Well, you're one of the eldest here too and you look like a child, Irene!"

"It's called keeping your youth, something you haven't mastered."

"We brought you food." Krystal broke up the fight by shoving a bag of chips and a sandwich in the whiny boy's face.

"Are these just leftovers?"

As the three continued with their messy conversation, Jessica and Donghae became more acquainted with each other through small talk and a few laughs. The two were still quite awkward, but they were getting closer little by little with every second their conversation continued. Jessica looked at the ground as she spoke, still embarrassed about that little situation they were in a few moments ago.

"So, you've been a photographer since you were fourteen?" He asked her, bending a little to look at her face.

"Exactly," She laughed, brushing her long bangs out of her face. "One day, my friends and I were just lying in the grass in front of my house and the sun was peeking through the tree branches at just the right time, and I took a picture. Ever since, I've wanted to become a photographer." Jessica looked up at the sky and stretched out her arms, afterwards resting them behind her head. Donghae nodded.

"It's good you're doing something you love." He replied, opening the door to the building for her.

"Aren't you doing something you love as well?" She nodded her head at him as she walked in, then raised a concerned eyebrow at him.

"Well, modeling is my passion and I do love it, but my fiancée wants me to quit because the business is so cutthroat. She doesn't want me getting hurt by sasaeng fans of any competition," He spoke in a soft tone. "I understand why she wants me to quit, but I love modeling too much to let it go."

Jessica looked at him with wide eyes and flared nostrils. "You have a fiancée?"

"Ah, Sooyeon-sshi, Soojung-sshi!" Lee Sooman hurried over to the two girls as Donghae backed over to the other two models.

"Annyeonghasseo, seonsaengnim." They both bowed at a ninety-degree angle towards the CEO, but he shook his head and motioned for them to stand straight.

"No need to be formal, I'm just your boss." He smiled.

Krystal raised her eyebrow and leaned towards her sister. "Just our boss?"

"Alright, alright, now for the matter at hand. I know you just started working for us today, but I have someone who you might like to meet," The eldest man stepped aside and let a young boy with blonde hair and dark brown eyes step forward. "This is one of our smartest pupils, he's an intern striving to become a model and a photographer, and since you are a model-photographer duo, I believed he would be a great apprentice to you two. I'm also sure he'd be great help to you, Soojung-sshi, since you both will be going to the same school."

The boy bowed deeply at the sisters as they looked at each other with different expressions. As he rose, the two looked back at him with gawky smiles. Both had the same feeling of nervousness, yet Krystal's unsure manner seemed to be more tense than Jessica's friendly aura of sunshine and rainbows.

"Hello, my name is Kim Jongin. Please take care of me well, I look forward to working with you two." He half-smiled at the two, his expression almost a full-on smirk. They were a bit surprised at his expression, but Sooyeon seemed to be happy she was getting a work monkey personal assistant nice boy as an apprentice.

"We'd be happy to teach him all we know. Thank you for giving Jungeun to us!" She smiled, pulling his wrist towards them, almost making him fall on the floor.

"It's Jongin-"

"It's absolutely no problem, please work well with the girls, alright?" Mr. Sooman eyed the young boy as he nodded back politely. "Alright, I'll see you all when I get back from my lunch break." He smiled, nodded at them, then left for his office. As soon as the door was closed, Jongin turned to the girls and stuffed his hands in his pockets nervously.

"When do I start?" He asked, his eyes on Soojung.

"You start now, pretty boy," Sooyeon snatched the back of his collar and began dragging him to her office in the studio, her sister trailing behind. "Bye, Donghae! You can tell me more about your fiancee later!" She smiled happily and waved until the three reached the office where she aggressively threw him in and squinted at him.

"Welcome to the family, Jung-in."

"My name is Jongin-"

"Nope, now that you're part of the Jungs, you're Jung-in." Soojung giggled at her sister's stupid pun, the boy shifting his glance to see her smile. "We have to set a few ground rules before you get comfortable, arachi?" The older girl said sharply, leaning closer.

He gulped. "Y-yes, ma'am."

"One, no flirting with Krystal. She's single and she's happy that way."

"What? No, I'm-"

"Two, no matter how we look, always tell us we're pretty," Sooyeon nodded, then shook her head again. "No, wait, scratch that. No matter how I look, tell me I'm pretty. Don't say anything to Krys or she might fall in love with you."

"Hey!"

"Three, get us coffee before we get to work."

"Isn't that just what the interns in the shows do?" Jongin questioned her skeptically.

"Yes. You're going to live out the stereotype for us," She answered blankly. "And four, no matter what nickname we give you, you'll have to go along with it, alright, Jung-in?"

"Hmh... Okay, I guess." He looked down.

"This isn't really a rule, but I want you to be comfortable around us. We're pretty chill as long as you don't interfere with our work." Soojung stood up from her sister's office chair.

"Alright, no problem." Jongin broke out into that same half-smirk of his as the Jungs saw earlier, causing Sooyeon to tilt her head downward and shoot a tense look at him.

"What's with that smug smirk you always give us, hm?" Jessica interrogated closely.

"N-no, I'm sorry, this is just my smile." He gulped, looking at his hands.

"Oh. You need to work on your smile, Jung-in, or else other people will keep getting the wrong idea about you, arachi? Krystal has a really pretty smile, so you can probably get lessons from her. Don't hit on her unless you want me to twist you into a pretzel." She grinned at the taller, exiting the room before her sister, who soon followed her to the doorway. Soojung looked back.

"What are you waiting for? We have three interviews and a dinner date to get to."

— JANUARY 19, 2014 (21:46:52): OUTSIDE ELLE MODELING STUDIO BUILDING

"These interviews just seem like they ask the same questions," Jessica yawned as she stretched her extremities out tiredly. "Thank God they're over, though."

The two teens nodded at her comment, just leaving the inside of the studio building. Both were still awkward with each other because they had just met eight hours before and neither wanted to start a conversation with Sooyeon around. She coughed out of awkwardness. Jongin cleared his throat.

"Um, where is that dinner date that you two need to get to?" He asked shakily, looking in the eldest's direction.

"Wherever we think is fine." She answered while looking around to find a nice place to have dinner.

"Wait, I thought you said this was going to be a dinner date?" He asked again raising an eyebrow confusedly.

"Oh, yeah. When we plan to eat out for dinner, we call it a dinner date. You should probably know that, since you'll be working with us for a while." Sooyeon nodded.

"But what do you call actual dinner dates?"

"An excuse to let someone else pay for your food at a snazzy restaurant." Soojung snickered at her sister's response.

"Oh," Jongin scratched behind his head in thought. "I know a nice place near my house, we can probably go there." He suggested, grabbing his own chin and looking down in thought.

"How good is this restaurant?" Both Jungs leaned closer for an acceptable answer. "It better be good, otherwise we're eating bingsu for dinner."

"It's amazing, my family and I used to dine there all the time until I went into the modeling business."

— JANUARY 19, 2014 (21:50:13): THE DIAMOND INDUSTRY (RESTAURANT).

As soon as the two girls walked inside the homey restaurant, they were hit with the warm smell of home-cooked American food and sweet French desserts, as well as Korean, Japanese, Mexican, and English appetizers with Italian entrees that would fill anyone's stomach. Jongin took them to an international food heaven that would change anyone's views on eating forever — it was perfect. Both girls had their mouths hanging open at the smell and scene of the place, the feel was great and the atmosphere was the most welcoming they've ever experienced.

"Table for three-"

"Five, please." A familliar voice from behind interrupted, making the three turn around in surprise.

"Yo, Donghae hyung! And Hara noona, hey! It's awesome to see you guys here again. It's crazy how often I see you guys whenever I eat here." Jongin shook hands with Donghae and gave a hug to the older girl with a genuine smile. The two others stood there watching the whole conversation between the trio go down as their hungry stomachs rumbled. But, of course, hunger wasn't the only thing Sooyeon began feeling. Once she saw that pretty face next to her one and only prince, the little person in her mind threw a huge anger fit.

Who is that girl?

Why is she with Hae?

Is this that fiancée he told me about?

Why is she so gorgeous?

GrrRRRrR. Oh god, that was loud. Jessica's stomach growled loudly, almost as if on cue. The girl didn't say anything and only stared at the three until they turned around to see where that strange noise came from. Soojung played with her hair until they were noticed and looked up with her annoyed face. Both girls seemed tired and hungry, so it was best to get them a table before chaos went down.

"It's good that it's not so crowded right now, we can get a table quickly," The girl supposedly named "Hara" smiled warmly. "Let's just follow the waiter over, shall we?"

"Good idea, someone seems hungry." She said as she raised her cheeks and the corners of into a small, sly smile. Sooyeon opened to protest, but no words came out because she knew that phrase was true. But being treated like a child was one of her biggest peeves, especially by someone she barely knew. Gritting her teeth and putting on a fake smile, the girl followed them to the neatly set round table with five places. Donghae pulled out Hara's chair and Jongin pulled out Krystal's for her, leaving the eldest girl to bitterly take out her own chair in between her sister and her prince.

"Oh, by the way, Sooyeon, Soojung, this is Goo Hara of DSP Media. She's aspiring to become a writer and an actress and is my well-acquainted fiancée." The eldest of the group nodded, smiling at Jessica.

"It's a pleasure to meet you two, Hae told me about you on the way here, especially you, Sooyeon. You're very beautiful in person." Hara stated, blinking her long eyelashes at her target.

"Oh, really? Thanks." Jess plainly replied, her eyes glued to the menu. She behaved this way through the whole dinner, not even glancing in Donghae's direction— er, Hara's direction. Something was off about her, and she could sense it. It's like whenever she encounters Donghae, something bad happens.

I can't tell whether you're a good person to have in my life or if you're just going to bring me more heartache.

I'M IN LOVE

"I'VE FALLEN DEEPLY FOR YOU AND EACH DAY SEEMS TO  GET MORE DANGEROUS. I CAN'T DECIDE IF YOU'RE POISON OR LOVE, MY HEAD HURTS."

"Jessica, how could you eat that whole plate of pasta in such a short time without saying anything?!"

"Air takes up too much room in my stomach. I can't talk while I eat, otherwise I'll get too full."

"Ew, Sooyeon sunbae, you're still having dessert?!"

"Dessert is the most important meal of the day, I don't understand how you'd skip it sometimes."
