“Her what?” Yuri asked, a bewildered expression on her face. She turned to look straight at Jessica, “What?” Sooyoung tried her hardest not to laugh as the black-haired woman kept repeating that one word, ‘what?’, countless times.

Jessica held her hands on her friend’s shoulders as she had done to Sooyoung earlier, her eyes and tone sharp and strict, “Calm down. It’s not like I sold my soul to her or anything.”

The majority of the sentence was ignored by Yuri, as in she only caught “sold my soul to her”, and her eyes enlarged with an even more frantic voice, “You what?”

Jessica exchanged glances with Sooyoung and the taller person nodded and walked over to the counter and courteously asked for a cup of ice water. Thankfully the employee gave her one and she returned back to the hectic table not long after she left.

Before Jessica responded to Yuri’s many questions, Sooyoung strolled over and flashed the water in Yuri’s face, she almost was going to dump it, but decided it was easier to just get her face wet rather than her whole head and shoulders.

“What was that for?” Yuri asked loudly, gaining a few lookers from the nearby tables. She shook her head gently and combed her hair with her fingers around the front, hoping to get it less wet.

“Good, you’re sane.” Jessica nodded and Sooyoung sat back down at her seat comfortably eating another spoonful of frozen yogurt.  She looked Yuri in the eye and said, “Do you want to know how this happened? Or do you just want to freak out like this the rest of your time here? ‘Cause Sooyoung and I are fine with that, right?”

The other participant cocked up her head shortly, “Of course I am, she’s entertaining.”

Yuri stared at the two in bewilderment, “Are you both crazy?”

Sooyoung shrugged and exchanged a short gaze with Jessica before they both nodded in acknowledgment, “Yes, I think we are.”

Yuri began opening but Jessica cut her off, “Before you say anything, let us please explain how this happened.”

“But what about Daewook? Does he know about her?” She pointed at Sooyoung strongly and Sooyoung shook her head, her mind reminded about the first morning with Jessica and she chuckled heartily to herself.

Jessica shook her head, “Of course not. He’d get mad at me for at least two reasons, one of which has to do with that she’s a girl.”

“But you’d rather have me mad than him? He’s going to learn eventually, you can’t keep a marriage a secret for long.” Yuri noted, and Sooyoung noticed that her tone was regaining logic again.

Jessica shrugged, “I know that, but it’s best to tell him face to face at a cafe or something back home and without her, so it’s easier for him.”

“He’ll probably break up with you, you know.”

“That’s not for certain, remember last year where he thought I was cheating on him with that one coworker? He forgave me then even though he was just a business partner, so there’s a chance that he’ll understand the misunderstanding and we’ll go back to normal.” Sooyoung was surprised by this, he thought she was cheating but she was really wasn’t...so why would he need to forgive her? He was the one who had the misunderstanding...there’s something weird there, I can tell.

“But this time you really did cheat!”

“I’m not dating her nor sleeping with her so it’s not technically cheating is it?” Jessica brought up her making of their ‘couple’ and Sooyoung felt a little disappointed, just earlier it seemed that Jessica was brighting up at the fact that she was married to someone.

“Hm..you put a good point there. But what about-”

“No more ‘but’s, just shut up and let us explain our marriage.” Sooyoung could detect the seriousness in Jessica’s voice and ate down another bite of her frozen yogurt before getting ready to add what needed added to the story.

The rest of the meet with Yuri went not too bad, though Sooyoung was honestly a bit irritated about how Jessica’s point of view on things was, though deep down she knew that Jessica didn’t think badly of her at all. The talk changed to Jessica’s boyfriend after the explaining, and yet again Sooyoung felt the true meaning of third wheel and was upset by the time it had ended.

“That went a lot better than expected,” Jessica said while they were driving back to their hotel. “Yuri was much better understanding after throwing that water in her face, that should be a permanent way to wake someone up, both physically and mentally.”

Sooyoung shrugged, “She was alright, I guess. Though I still can’t trust her.”

Jessica playfully pushed Sooyoung’s right arm from the passenger’s seat, “You don’t have to be protective you know. Yul is an awesome person! You could even date her if you wanted to!” She paused from leaning toward Sooyoung and turned forward, her right elbow in her left hand and her right index finger pointed at her face in thought. “Though I don’t think she’s your type...”

“Don’t think about that kind of stuff seriously Sica! I’m already married to you aren’t I? Stop setting me up with your friends!” Sooyoung’s voice sounded like she was fooling around again, but she thought of it seriously.

“In my defense, you set yourself with Yoona, I didn’t have any say in that. You went through my phone and you said she was your type, none of my signature match making.” Jessica used the most rich-chick-iest accent as she could in the last phrase and couldn’t help but laugh at the attempt herself.

Sooyoung also chuckled out as the car stopped at a red light, “You don’t remember the whole thing do you? I said she was my type but not perfect because she wasn’t you.”

Jessica let out a small smile and slightly blushed, realizing the compliment that was meant. “Uh...thanks Sooyoung, that means...something.”

Sooyoung nodded, a wider grin on her face than the other female’s, “No problem, being cheesy and being amazing are the two skills I’m really great at.”

Jessica showed a fake awed face, “You? Being amazing? I don’t see it.”

Sooyoung shook her head, “Of course you don’t see it plainly, but deep down, you know that you’re just as amazed at me like everybody else.”

Jessica continued the shocked way, “You say ‘everybody else’ but I don’t think anybody else is to be quite honest.”

“Ask anyone who the most gracious and stunning person they ever saw or met is, and see just how many will say ‘Choi Sooyoung’. Go ahead, I dare you.”

“Sure I’ll do that, but before I do my experiment, can I say my hypothesis on how many people will answer your name?”

  “Yeah, go ahead.”

“Zero. Zero people will say your name.”

“Do you wanna keep that pretty face or-”

“Hey, Choi Sooyoung, calm down, it was just a joke.” Jessica giggled and added, “And if you did rearrange my face, do you know how many of your ‘fans’ would care?”

Sooyoung was silent and Jessica answered her own question, “That’s right! Zero!”

 “Are you denying my popularity?”

“How can I deny something that isn’t there?”

“Oooh this is gettin’ good!” An unfamiliar voice cooed and they both turned to Jessica’s lap, where her phone was on and an accidental call was on, and on speaker too.

“Seo Yoona! How come you didn’t notice that it was an accidental call and hang up?” Jessica asked angrily, some people didn’t deserve to go too far into her personal life, even if it was one of her best friends.

“Why hello there Jessica! Hi there Sooyoung too! You two sure are a married couple aren’t you? I can tell even through the phone,” Jessica sighed as response and Sooyoung just kept her smile, happy that others were noticing the real couple feel between the two.

“Yoona! I’m guessing Yuri already told you everything didn’t she?” Jessica was now holding the cell phone in her hand, a couple inches above it.

“Of course she did, even her opinion on everything. She talked so fast that it was a bit hard to digest it all, but I got it. I hope you two get on the same plane tomorrow,” Yoona replied, her tone cheerful and a bit playful.

“So Yoona, do you think Jessica should start calling me nicknames? I mean, if you think we already act like a couple, might as well have nicknames for each other right?” Sooyoung interrupted high-spiritedly, hoping that Jessica would consider what her friend from home said. A small whiny “Sooyoung!” from Jessica was all that was responded from her side until Yoona spoke her thoughts.

“Of course you do! I’ve only heard you say ‘Sica’ before, but that’s only one out of her many nicknames! Maybe you can call her something like ‘honey-boo’ or ‘Princess Sica’ like her mom. Jessica should call you whatever she wants, since I don’t you know well enough to make you some nicknames myself.” Yoona responded almost immediately, and Sooyoung smiled wider at the answer.

“If I call her any nickname, it would be ObnoxiouSoo.” Jessica remarked kiddingly again, nodding at the other woman’s shocked face, “That would be the absolute best nickname for you! Next to Irksoo.”

Sooyoung slowed down the car as they were entering the parking lot of the hotel, “If anything, you should call me at least ‘Soo’ or ‘S.Y’ or something other than my long first name, it’s easier for not just you, but me.”

“I agree with her, it makes sense. But unnie! Those are mean nicknames! Try something cute!” Yoona called out through the phone, and Sooyoung couldn’t help but laugh at her attempt to be persuasive.

“Yoongie, I was just kidding, you should know that.” Jessica also laughed to herself, though not about what the other person in the car was laughing about.

“Oh! Shoot! I need to go walk Nayoung! She hasn’t been walked yet today!” Yoona’s voice went worrisome for what Sooyoung suspected was her dog and she said her goodbye, “Bye guys! Sorry I didn’t get to know you that well Soo, maybe we’ll meet someday. Have a great day left Sica unnie! See you tomorrow!”

Sooyoung turned off the automobile after they finished parking, her mind going over Yoona’s words ‘maybe we’ll meet someday’ and her thoughts automatically thought, we’ll meet sooner than you’ll ever think, Seo Yoona.

“I was surprised by her great English, does she have family in an English-speaking country too?” Sooyoung asked as they walked toward the building, “though some of the pronounciation could’ve been better, it overall was really good.”

Jessica shrugged, “She has quite a bit of teachers, plus she’s been with me to San Fran two or three times. I think it’s me that’s really made her better at it, since I have to use English sometimes more than often on the phone and she wants to understand what I’m saying so I’ve taught her some stuff.”

Sooyoung chortled, “Oh so you’re the one bragging now?”

“What? That wasn’t bragging, that was...talking good about myself. So...self-esteem, which is good for somebody to have you know.”

“Oh of course I know, I’m the queen of bragging.” Sooyoung joked, “You see, calling myself the queen was bragging in itself.”

“You sure are something aren’t you?” Jessica shook her head after opening the door for her partner, “Anyway, that wasn’t bragging. I’m better than to be as low-lived as that.”

“So you’re calling people who brag low-lives?”

“No, just people like you who do it. Specifically you.”

“Oh, your cold today, Miss Jung. Do I have to start calling you Ice Princess instead of Princess Jessica now? I think it’d fit you better,” Sooyoung noted jokingly as they entered the elevator together. hah, Ice Princess. Reminds me of Sharkboy and Lavagirl or something.

“Ice Princess? I’d like to see you try to use that for long,” Jessica scoffed off, crossing her arms and looking in front of her rather than at the other person in the conversation.

“You don’t have to see when you can watch, Miss Ice Princess Jung.” Sooyoung replied as they walked into the hallway on their level, Jessica following her leisurely.

“Yah, Choi Sooyoung! I didn’t know you would be here!” They both turned their heads to see someone that was unfamiliar to Jessica but way too familiar to Sooyoung.

“Oh...hi Ahsong! Didn’t expect you here! How’s it...been?” Sooyoung straightened her posture and turned her head to whisper to a confused Jessica, “Don’t expect anything but she’s sorta my enemy.”

Jessica huffed out a breath of annoyance out her nostrils, “Why now? Just say hi, say your busy, and get us away as far as we can.”

Sooyoung let out a breath of disbelieve and whispered to herself, “I thought she was my enemy. But anyway, nice plan. Get ready to walk out like your fabulous okay?”

Jessica nodded quickly and they both faced Ahsong accordingly, “So, who’s the shortie? Your friend? I’m surprised you have some.”

“Sorry to rain on your parade, but we’re a bit busy at the moment, forgot something in the room and have to find it. It was nice seeing you though,” Sooyoung’s words were somewhat through gritted teeth and she exchanged short glances with Jessica before walking past the wavy brunette, ignoring any other words.

“Thank God that we’re only here for this last day so I don’t have to see her anymore. Oh! That reminded me! I have to pack for Korea!” Sooyoung cheered at the end and opened the door to their room, “Do you wanna help me pack cute outfits? I need to impress my family there when I meet with them sometime during the week.”

“Maybe, depends on if I can fit in before work or not and-” Jessica took out her cell phone to check the time quickly, wondering whether or not she had time to help.

“So you’ll help me?” The other person’s voice raised with excitement and she ran to grab something that was set on the end of the bed.

“Yeah...” Jessica replied, her tone still uneasy as Sooyoung returned and pushed them back out of the front door of the room.

“Thanks Ice Princess! Let’s get back to that car!” Sooyoung grabbed Jessica’s arm and closed the door behind them as they went back into the hallway less than a minute than their last trip. Ah, Irksoo, you’ll be the death of me someday.
