Walls were meant to protect. Masks were meant to hide. Striking the balance is probably the most difficult task to do because of things like security and assurance. You put up walls to prevent harm from coming your way. You wear masks to cover your emotions and pretend to act like something else even if what you're feeling is the exact opposite. It's complicated. It's difficult. It's painful. You bear with the burden no matter what, hoping for a brighter outcome. You expect the worst but simply look forward and hope for the best. It's funny don't you think? All this trouble just to drown yourself and get rid of any feeling to simply to be numb so that when life shoots you with its sharpest daggers, you wouldn't even know that you're already bleeding to death.

Take out their history. Take out their relationship with each other. Retain their personalities. Open your mind. Begin.
