“Not today.” I cut off my friend off, shutting my locker and turning away before I had to look at Luhan’s face. Not that I could bring myself to do it anyway, and I already knew the expression that would be on it. Disappointment, surprise, hurt, and worry. It was what always happened.

“I’ll call you later.” I muttered, hurrying out of the school, ducking my head to try and hide myself from the stares that I still got.

 Now, let me tell you something before you automatically think that I’m just some y teenager with a permanent case of guy PMS. I wasn’t always like this. I used to have great friends, a happy home life, good grades. I had a great girlfriend, and was the star of my high school’s varsity tennis and track team. In fact, you could say almost say that I was pretty close to living the perfect life.

 But then I died.

 Obviously I’m not dead right now, but I’m pretty close to it. See, I "died" from a house fire about a year ago that also killed the rest of my family. I imagine by the time that the firefighters had found me, my mother, father, and younger brother had probably been burnt to a crisp, and released (hopefully quickly) from the pain.

Not me. My soul wandered, mixing with those in the world who had died, until a demon named Chanyeol Park found me. He told me that I could live again, but I would be "bound to him". Whatever the hell that means. And I don't remember signing a contract that I agreed to, but here I am. Bound to him, doomed to have a double life until I was free. Which seemed that could only happen if he died, which was extremely hard for him to do. Believe me, I've tried. A lot.

 I had woken up from my comatose state three months later to find myself in the hospital. The doctors had told me that I was a living miracle, as my heart had stopped for quite some time in the early stages of my coma, though it apparently had started itself back up just as they were going to announce me dead. As I said before, my family died in the fire, but they hadn’t come back to life like I had.

 Am I lucky? Sometimes, I'm not so sure.

 My name is Byun Baekhyun, and this is the story of my not-compleatly death and pretty much everything after.
