I was leaning my back against the steel railings that was about 3 feet higher than i am. The sun was retreating that day, its rays were painting a canvass of golden yellow against the ebony sky as the stars slowly peeked through the horizon.

The surroundings held such nostalgic feelings that I didn’t know I held deep inside me. 

It was a beautiful sight to behold, something only a few privileged could see. Those are the people who sees life as a great adventure, those who are wise enough to take a pause out of the game of life and smell the roses—those who are willing to take a risk and lose themselves in life’s gamble. Those who knew at the end winning in life isn’t about how much you achieve, but how much you learn.

After all, life's greatest joy are always for free.

But I wasn’t one of them…or I used to be not one of 'em.

I closed my eyes as I felt my insides churned like it was threating to vomit of what little I ate.  

Not long ago I used to think that life was just a passing waste of time. The moment you were born you were plunged into a world that thinks for you and decides for you. Society, culture even the family that I have was basically trying to make me fit in and fall in line like the rest of humanity.

Conformed into the likeness of normalicy --if there is even a word such as that.

But I couldn’t see that life has more to offer than the confines that were set before me…

…until I met her.

“Love, like everything else in life, should be a discovery, an adventure, and like most adventures, you don’t know you’re having one until you’re right in the middle of it.” 

She once said to me on an afternoon like this.

I remembered how her flawless face glowed against the afternoon sun, her natural sharp eyes squinted softly and her plump lips quirked into a knowing smiled as she looked onto the distance.

Ah yes…her beautiful smile that never left her beautiful face. How can I ever forget about that, she made feel emotions I never felt before, she made believe in things that I thought was madness.

Who would have thought that I will learn more of life greatest teachings within six short months, than what I’ve come to know my entire life…and of course that was all thanks to her.

Unexpected she came hurling down my life like a meteor falling from the starry sky, i wasn't wishing but she made my dream come true without me knowing.

In those six months I lived the happiest than I ever did my entire life living.

But like a falling star she wasn't meant to stay up my skyline…and like that, as soon as she came—she disappeared. It was short, but then again it was beautiful.

"But the best thing you ever did taught me was to love and believe in forever no matter how short it may be…" I mumbled mindlesly to no one. I felt my words were carried up by the cold wind...disappearing into twilight.

"Krystal Jung Soojung."

*So i just watched 'The Fault in Our Stars' earlier.. and i cried a lot and this gave me an idea for this short story*
