The Country Bumpkins

Description

12 young boys grew up in the fine country side of South Korea's very own Busan. Together they learned to appreciate one another, becoming the bestest of friends. Their bond was inseparable, sewed tight by years of fishing, farming, and cattle raising together. Their parents watched as their sons grew and matured, becoming young men whom they could proudly call their children. After 18 years of homeschooling them, nuturing them, and showing them how to live on their own, the parents forged an agreement; a promise.

They would send the 12 boys to Seoul, where they would get the education and opportunities at life they deserved...

Nah, just kidding.

12 boys had to put up with each other for 18 years because their parents happened to like each other and, to be honest, they kind of lived in the middle of nowhere. No girls(except their mommies), no entertainment, and worst of all, no other kids they would rather be friends with. While the parents were drinking one night in the farmhouse, they decided to kick their kids out of their houses and into the streets of Seoul.

This is how 12 boys ended up going to Seoul university with eight bucks and a chicken named Flack in their potato sacks.

Foreword

"Seoul!!!" the boys exclaimed.

The 12 boys were huddled up in the center of the hen house while their parents stood outside the small red shack. Christie, a fat hen, nipped at Chanyeol's left ear. He swatted it, causing the hen to squack loudly while smashng against the wooden wall of the shack.

"Hey mom! I think Chanyeol killed Margot!"

"Its name is Ken, you duck."

"Can we do heart surgery on it, now that it's dead?"

Someone hit Sehun on the head with a shovel.

"Oww! I wasn't even talking!" he screamed.

"Tao, stop being a wimp and smack him again with this brick." Tao's father handed his son a brick and ushered him back into the smelly shack.

"What are you doing Tao's dad? Stop telling your son to hit my son on the head with things!" Sehun's mom, a stout lady, grabbed the brick out of Tao's hands and threw it aside, hitting another chicken on the head.

"Dad, you killed Jeff!" Suho wailed.

"I didn't do it son, I swear! She did it!" Suho's dad pointed to Sehun's mom.

"Jeff, for heaven's sake, why Jeff! Wait... who's Jeff?" Yixing asked.

"For shame Sehun's mom! That was our second to last chicken!" Jongin's mom chastised.

"Well, we still have Flack!" Kyungsoo exclaimed towards the fat chicken lying in the back. The mound fell on its side and didn't move.

"That piece of crap?"

"It's so fat and gross and fat!"

"Flack is biual!"

"Flack is going with you boys to Seoul, so shut your mouths before I hit you!" A booming voice captured the attention of the buzzing crowd. The boys shrinked back into their group formation while Tao's dad put down his brick.

Wufan's dad, a large, muscular man well groomed to the age of fifty, brought up his thick hand to reveal twelve plane tickets going from Busan to Seoul's airport station.

"You boys will go to Seoul and attend university there. We've already arranged everything for you guys, so all you have to do is attend your classes and become smart. Don't plan on coming back here being a bunch of dumb asses without graduating from university. Do you understand me?"

The parents watched as fear and curiousity flashed across their sons' faces.

"No?" Wufan answered. The other boys seemed to agree as one by one they all nodded their heads in agreement. Wufan grinned.

"They all think he's a genius or something. Seriously, I thought he would be the smartest out of all of them." Wufan's mother sighed.

Wufan's father frowned.

"These idiots..." he muttered while rubbing his face.

"It's like the blind leading the blind."
