Kris had gone and Mina dashed towards Chaeyoung side, hugging her knee tightly. “Sehun I’m sorry.” Chaeyoung apologised, “I really was going to tell you but I didn’t know how to.”
Sehun’s expression softened. It was peculiar how gentle he looked now compared to the few seconds when Kris was present. Sehun slowly went to his knees, and outstretched a hand in Mina’s direction. “Come here.” He tenderly instructed. Mina bit her lips and hid behind Chaeyoung. “G-Go away.” She weakly defended.
Sehun’s expression dropped. “I won’t hurt you.” He assured.
“Mina, go to him.” Chaeyoung lightly nudged her daughter forwards.
Mina still didn’t want to go to Sehun; she just clung onto Chaeyoung like glue, only stealing small glimpses of Sehun every now and then.
With a sigh, Sehun stood up and dusted his knees. His gaze met with his mate, and sweet sorrow passed between the two. Chaeyoung expected Sehun to walk away now, but she was more than shocked when he started to take quick steps towards her. She instinctively took several paces back, stunned. “That was selfish of you Chaeyoung. How could you hide this from me? Especially the fact that I’ve been a father this whole time.” He eased away from Chaeyoung slowly, staring at her eyes that were in the same state as his. Glossy and producing tears.
“It’s useless now.” Chaeyoung interrupted through her small sob. “You’ll shortly be married to another woman. You’ll still be the father but-“
“No Chaeyoung.” Sehun cut her off by raising his voice. “I’m not going to marry anyone but you.” He declared, so sure of himself and so confident in his statement.
Chaeyoung’s eyes widened in disbelief and shock. More delicate tears coursed mutely down her cheeks and stained the ground she stood on. “I’m unfit-“
“You’re perfect.” Sehun assured, “No woman but you was born to rule by my side. That’s how it should’ve been 3 years ago.”
Sehun took away Chaeyoung’s tears and embraced her again. His lips lingered near her ears before he planted a small kiss on her lobe, leaving a fluttering feeling rage within her stomach. As his lips traced the shell of her ear, he whispered two words that caused Chaeyoung to feel weak but thoroughly soaked with blissful tingles.
“Marry me.”
Chaeyoung swallowed hard. She never expected those words to leave his lips. Their eyes found each other, and for a long, passionate moment, t
