“Sleeping”

Tao watched as Chen yawned for what must have been the fourth time in the last five minutes. They were the last two awake and Tao could tell his hyung was tired. He couldn’t help but wonder if the vocal was avoiding sleeping for Tao’s sake. Did he know that the maknae was dreading going to sleep? Did he know that Tao was going to cry as soon as he saw Kris’ things in their room? Did he know how lonely it would make the boy feel? It was silly really. He had slept alone the night before without any trouble. But that was before. Before he knew he would be alone.

Even though his feet felt as heavy as lead he managed to make the distance across the room to the door. Subconsciously he held his breath as he opened it.
The room was dark and he could barely make anything out but Tao already felt his eyes stinging. He didn’t even bother cutting on the light. He wasn’t ready for what he would see. Instead, he let the door close behind him throwing him into darkness. In one fluid motion he made his way to the leader’s bed and threw himself down upon it.
