Oh Sehun raised a brow and crossed his arms over his chest. It was almost midnight and Sehun was surprised too see Luhan still up doing the same thing he was doing in their dorm living room after they ate the dinner that Kyungsoo and Chanyeol prepared for the twelve of them. "Hyung, you're still at it even at this time of the night?"

"Yeah." EXO's second eldest member, Luhan, replied without looking at Sehun. The latter shrugged his shoulders, walked inside the kitchen, took a bottled water from the fridge and went back to his room. Luhan's eyes never left the Rubik's Cube in his hands as he was halfway done solving his 25th cube. Even when another member sat beside him, Luhan's concentration never wavered.

"Luhan..." *munch, munch*

No response.

"Sigh. Lu ge~~"

Luhan momentarily looked up from the object in his hands and turned to his right. "What is it, Xiumin?"

The older boy mischievously grinned at Luhan and shrugged while munching on his Mocha bread. "Nothing. I just wanted to disturb you."

"Aish." Luhan made a face and went back to solving his cube. Xiumin leaned closer and eyed the colorful cube that was almost solved. "You have solved 24 of those and they are all stocked up in your room. Why are you solving another one?"

"The Rubik's Cube's Anniversary is on May 19."

"That doesn't really answer my question, Lu."

"I bought forty rubik's cubes."

The elder boy's eyes widened in surprise after noticing that Luhan did have a bag full of 16 unsolved Rubik's Cubes on the floor and a piece of Mocha bread almost went out from his mouth. "Ehh?! What for?"

Luhan grinned and showed Xiumin his 25th solved cube, admiring the uniform colors from all sides. "I'm solving 40 Rubik's Cubes for its 40th Anniversary."

A few seconds passed and Xiumin continued to stare at Luhan as if he had grown three antlers. The mocha bread threatened to fall so Luhan, using his index and middle fingers, closed Xiumin's mouth and chuckled at his friend's silliness. "You didn't have to over react like that, Xiumin."

"I wasn't!" Xiumin defended, blinking his eyes repeatedly while he shook his head and sat on the carpeted floor beside the bag. "But do you really have to devote all of your free time solving al forty Rubik's Cubes?"

Luhan shrugged. "Why not?"

"It's not like you owe your whole life to those cubes, Lu." Xiumin pointed out as he took another bite from his Mocha bread. Luhan tilted his head to the side and pursed his lips. "True, but I did realize that solving Rubik's Cubes taught me important life lessons. Solving forty of these for it's 40th Anniversary is just my simple way of  showing how thankful I am."

"To the cubes." Xiumin deadpanned.

"Dude, don't insult my precious gems," Luhan narrowed his eyes at Xiumin's bread. "Or I'll start insulting your midnight snack."

"Okay, fine!" Xiumin agreed while making sure his Mocha bread was out of Luhan's reach. "Sheesh, you didn't have to drag my Mocha bread into this."

"You started it, Minnie." Luhan stuck out his tongue and Xiumin did the same. "Hey, don't call me that! That was only for the yaja time in Showtime."

After a few more childish and harmless banter, Xiumin stood up and yawned. His Mocha bread was long gone and the familiar drowsy feeling had started to take over his mind and body. He scratched his clothed stomach and looked down at Luhan, who had started solving his 28th cube already. Apparently, Luhan was still solving the cubes while goofing around with Xiumin not too long ago. "Unbelievable."

"Hm?"

"Are you sure you're not going to sleep yet, Luhan?" Xiumin asked, noticing his friend's eyebags. Luhan grinned through his sleepy eyes and tired body, he did stay in that position since her finished eating dinner. "Yeah, I'll go in when I'm done."
