Can this lead to love?
Cho Hee’s POV
Bacon, fried eggs and bread. I should be happy. But, it’s still a little awkward eating with my parents.
“Honey, do you and Taemin get along well?” Oh no. We hate each other.
“Of course, Eomma.”
“That’s good. Wedding is in one week’s time.” A week?
“Oh… um… okay.”
I dressed up real quick. I just can’t stay here at home. The thought of being married in a week's time is suffocating me. I can't ulitmately understand why my parents think this is a good idea, when it's already the 21st century and arranged marriages are just out of the society's practices. It feels like I entered some sort of noontime melodrama.
“Suzy-ah.”
“Oh, Cho Hee! What happened?”
“The wedding.”
“Hell. What about it again?”
“It’s gonna be in one week’s time.”
“What? Your parents really want you married that fast.”
“I know. Maybe they want us married before school starts.”
“That’s too bad. Well, meet me now.”
“Okay, be there in a few.”
I was about to get a cab, but much to my expecation, the devil arrived.
“Where are you going?” He inquired as he got out of his ride.
“You don’t care.”
“Hey! I’m your fiancé.”
“Unfortunately.”
He apparently waited for some snarky remark from me but I remained silent, ignoring his entire presence. It makes it easier to just pretend that his arrogant self does not exist. His whole being screams bastard and it just irks me to death. He slightly chuckled and approached me.
“Are they here?”
“Yes. Why are you here anyway?”
“Because I want to see my wife.” He winked, and I involuntarily cringed.
“I’m not your wife.”
“Soon, you will be. I can’t wait.” He said those words in a hushed tone, making me hate him even more if that's still possible.
“Me too. I can’t wait for my parents to realize you’re an .”
“Hey, slow down.” He placed his arms around me.
“Get off me.” I hissed. You stupid moron.
“Wifey, we can skip the wedding and proceed to the honeymoon right away.” He leered and pulled me back inside the house.
“Good morning, Omonim, Abonim.”
“Oh, Taemin-ah! You’re here.” He was still holding my hand.
“Ne. um, mother told me that you have something to tell us.” My ears perked up. They're going to tell us something?
“Tell us what?” I whispered.
“I don’t know. That’s why I’m here, stupid.”
“Oh, about that. You two sit down first.” I can sense something fishy in my mother’s voice.
These are the moments I loathe so much. I feel something coming up, and it just makes me feel jittery as hell.
“You two look cute together.” My dad beamed. He’s always the cheery guy. But his attitude is adding up to the atmosphere.
“Well…” I stuttered, making me cough out for no reason.
“Cho Hee-ah, are you okay?” The devil really acts well.
“Yes.” I bluntly responded.
“So… Cho Hee, you grew up alone; only seeing us in web cameras, hearing us on phones. We thought that we can lead you to a better life by letting you marry Taemin.” Dad started.
Mother cleared .
“But, you two still don’t get used to each other much, right?”
“We get along really well.” I tried to defend.
“But, there’s still a little awkward atmosphere sometimes.” Taemin smiled sheepishly. Wow? Really now?
“We know it’s a little early, but we’re giving this to you.” Dad handed something.
Keys?
“We bought you a house. You’re living together.”
