Chaerin captured Dara and bring her to their headquarters, Bom and Seunghyun can’t believe when they saw her though she’s not saying anything nor admitting that she’s part of that group

 

 

“For the nth time Ms. Dara! What are you doing there and who shot your friend?” Chaerin asked her again but still Dara just looks at her with a smile on her face

 

 

“God damn it!” Chaerin said, Bom taps her shoulder the pulled Chaerin

 

 

“You won’t get anything from her if you keep on yelling!” Bom said to her but Chaerin ignores her

 

 

“Now do you believe that I’m telling the truth?” she asked Seunghyun and Bom but they don’t have a concrete proof against Dara

 

 

“Stop it Chaerin, you’re not the one who will decide on this one..” Seunghyun answered, she was about to say another word when their Chief arrives, the three stood up then he looks at Dara

 

 

“Ms. Dara please follow me, I need to talk to you in private..” the chief said, he motions for the three to follow them inside his office, Dara moves and went inside then sits on the chair she saw

 

 

“Okay so Ms. Dara, can I ask you what are you doing there?” he asked her

 

 

“Nothing, I was on my way home th—“ then Chaerin butted in

 

 

“You told me you were going to Macau, how come you are back here already?” Dara smiles at her and say

 

 

“I am and didn’t you know that the travel time from macau to korea is just 3 hours and so? So it will only take 6 hours for me to travel back and fort..”

 

 

“Or you didn’t travel to macau? You are trying to evade us from connecting you to this group?” Chaerin asked her again

 

 

“I’ll show you my itinerary and ticket if you want, Det. Lee..”

 

 

“That won’t change anything Ms. Dara, just tell us that you are one of them..”

 

 

“I’m not. I told you I was on my home and heard gunshots inside the port, I decided to take a look thinking that someone is hurt and needed some help..”

 

 

“Oh bullsh*t!” Chaerin answered

 

 

“Det. Lee! I’m warning you..” their chief said, Bom pulled her to her side

 

 

“We don’t have any proof against you Ms. Dara but we can’t let you go..” he said, Chaerin smiles from ear to ear while Dara is looking at her

 

 

“I understand that, it’s fine with me if you want to stay here for a while..” Dara answered

 

 

“Don’t worry, there’s a detention cell over there, you will comfortable staying there..” Chaerin said again, the chief sighs and looks at Dara again

 

 

“We won’t detain you Ms. Dara because we want you to be our star witness for this crime..” he said, Chaerin was about to protest when Bom nudge her elbow again

 

 

“Hmm star witness eh? So I am a star?” Dara asked, smiling then looks at Chaerin who’s throwing deadly glances at her

 

 

“Yes, you said you were there and saw the person killed your friend..”

 

 

“Yes Mr. Chief sir, I will do my best to cooperate. I don’t know why they did that to him. He’s a good kid and very hard working..” Dara said and look down, Chaerin on the other hand shook her head not believing a single word she says

 

 

She’s good! This girl is good in acting!

 

 

“Don’t worry too much, you are safe with us and we will do our best to capture whoever murdered him, I can assure you that Ms. Dara..” the chief said then he looks at Chaerin

 

 

“Detective Lee..” he said, Chaerin walks towards him

 

 

“I’m putting you in-charge of this witness protection program..” he added, Chaerin furrow her eyebrows then ask

 

 

“Huh?”

 

 

“You heard me right. You’ll be the one protecting Ms. Dara. Make sure she’s always safe and secure. I already called Liam, he’ll bring you to the safe house where you and Dara will stay for a while..”

 

 

“But sir! I don’t want to guard this girl! Can’t you see that she know something we don’t. I’m telling you sir, please believe me..”

 

 

“Do you have any proof on that? If you do please present it to me now..” Chaerin didn’t answer and looks at Dara

 

 

“I am your commanding officer and you will do as I say. She’ll be our star witness and a very important person, now do everything you can to make her safe!”

 

 

 

 

6 hours later..

 

They reach the safe house around 4 am in the morning, Bom, Liam and Seunghyun are with Dara and Chaerin, the latter still didn’t said a word since they left the headquarters. They all went out of the car, Chaerin leans her back on the car while she looks at Dara who’s smiling from ear to ear

 

 

“So this is going to be our love nest huh?” Dara asked her, Chaerin ignores her and starts to walk towards inside, Bom smiled while Seunghyun scratch his head

 

 

“Ah Dara-yah, I think you should stop teasing Chaerin that way..” Bom said to her

 

 

“Why? I’m just trying to ease the situation we’re having right now..” she answered

 

 

“We know that but Chaerin thinks you are one of the bad guys..” Seunghyun said too

 

 

“Well I can’t change that, I mean if she has proof then show it to me, I’ll voluntary surrendered myself!” Dara answered again, she follows Chaerin inside the house

 

 

“I bet Det. Lee and this Ms. Dara doesn’t get along huh?” Liam asked the two

 

 

“Uhm yes sir but Chaerin knows she can’t do anything but to follow orders..” Bom answered

 

 

“Very well then, let’s head inside, I need to explain some things to Det. Lee..” he said

Dara is sitting on the couch while Chaerin roams around the house, it’s not that big nor too small. She memorize every exit doors and windows then looks at Dara

 

 

“If you think you can escape me like you did the first time we met, think again Ms. Dara. I won’t let you go that easy..” Chaerin said, warning her

 

 

“Our first meeting? You mean at the coffee shop when you accused me of being a thief??” Dara asked her, looking straight into her eyes

 

 

“Oh stop giving me that kind of sh*t like you don’t know what I’m saying..”

 

 

“Well I don’t know what you’re saying Det. Lee, mind explaining it to me again?” Chaerin clench her fist when she saw Dara just smiled at her

 

 

“You know what Det. Lee, you don’t have any proof that I am that girl. I already gave my side why I was there when that incident happened. If I am involve then where the hell is my gun? Where my get away car huh?” Dara asked her and this time Chaerin don’t know how to respond

 

 

“Even if I am that girl and I’m involve, you can never pinned me down, Det. Lee.. “ Dara added, they were staring to each other when the door opens, Dara smiled and went towards Bom

 

 

“Okay you two lovebirds, this is your nest for at least two months until we know who killed Trendy..” Lia, said, Chaerin still won’t accept her current situation right now, she thinks that Sir Liam could listen to her pleads and maybe allows her not to guard Dara

 

 

“Are you still punishing me? She doesn’t need to be protected?” Chaerin asked the three while pointing a finger at Dara

 

 

“Hey! I heard that! FYI, I have the answers to your questions so you need to guard me” Dara butted in

 

 

“Why would I risk my life protecting people like you?”

 

 

“Because PEOPLE like me can help PEOPLE like you who keeps on investigating and haven’t got a clue what’s going on..”

 

 

“Oh no! I can’t be with her sir!” Chaerin pleaded like it’s her last resort

 

 

“You need to and you have to! She’s under our witness protection program and that starts now!!” Liam said in an authority voice, Chaerin gave up, she knows she needs to be with this woman, every second of the day and every second of the night

 

 

“There’s two bed over there, you guys talk which side do you want. There’s enough food and water for a month. Det. Lee there’s a first aid kit inside the bathroom, I brought you some guns and ammos that you can use in case they found out where are we hiding Ms. Dara..” Liam explained again

 

 

“Okay Sir..” Chaerin answered

 

 

“Don’t let her get out of your sight, if it’s possible, go wherever she goes, always watch her whenever you guys are outside the house. Your neighbors don’t know a thing from you, they don’t know you are a Detective and they don’t know that you are a star witness of a murder, all they know is that a couple will be living here for a while..” Liam added, Chaerin furrow her eyebrows while Dara looks at Liam

 

 

“A couple?” Dara asked him, Liam nodded then looks at Chaerin then back to Dara

 

 

“In order for us to put you in a safe place, we told rumors that you guys are newly wed couple..” Liam answered

 

 

“What?!!!!” they both said

 

 

“In that way, they won’t suspect anything. Oh before I forgot, here you need to wear these..” Liam hand over a pouch to Chaerin then she saw two rings inside

 

 

“It’s your wedding ring, you need to wear those just in case one of your neighbors shows up in your front door..” he said again

 

 

“No please, don’t do this to me..” Chaerin said, Dara took one of the ring and place it on her finger

 

 

“Oh, nice. Shiny. How cute!” she said then wrap her arms on Chaerin but the latter push her away

 

 

“We need to go now, Det. Lee you take good care of Ms. Dara. We don’t want to lose our one and only witness to the crime..” Liam said, Chaerin all could do is to nod, Bom taps her shoulder and wave her hands

 

 

“Better wear that thing now, Lee..” Seunghyun said, teasing her

 

 

I can’t believe this! I can’t believe this is happening to me!!

 

 

Chaerin watch them leave and closes the door, she took a deep breath then turn around and look at Dara, the latter is looking around and opens the fridge and get some water, she gulp half of it and looks at Chaerin and smiles

 

 

“So what now my dear wifey?” Dara asked her, Chaerin slumps her body on the couch, place a pillow on her face and screamed
