CHAERIN

 

I turn around and saw Minji looking at me, I think she caught me listening to this guy conversation with someone, I need to think of anything to keep me out from a hot seat

 

 

 

 

“Oh nothing, I’m just ah checking these boxes, you sister told me too..” I answered

 

 

 

 

“Dara-Unnie?” Minji asked me

 

 

 

 

“Yeah, she’s talking with Bom then she told me to check on these boxes..” I saw her nod her head a few times, I don’t think if she belives me but the hell I care

 

 

 

 

“Okay, tell her that I need to talk to her pronto..” Minji said to me, I nod my head and look at the guy again but his gone already

 

 

 

“F***!” I look around trying to find him but he’s not here anymore

 

 

 

Did he saw me? Does he knew that I’m eavesdropping on their conversation?

 

 

 

 

‘Well even if he knew, it would be the better. I know there’s going on in this shop and I will tend to find out whatever it takes..’ I started to walk-away and get back at the front door, I can still see Bom talking with this mysterious girl

 

 

 

 

What are you up to? I know my instinct and I can’t forget those eyes. I know you are the girl I’m after but I can’t find anything to pinned you down

 

 

 

 

I was lost in my own world when I saw her waving her hands on me, i still have a couple of days before my punishment is over and I won’t give up finding anyt proof against you

 

 

 

 

 

5:00 pm

 

 

The siblings decided to close the store as early as 5 pm, they told their customers that they will have an inventory on-going and will be operating from Monday to Friday from 7am-2pm only. All of their customers understands it because every year they changed their opening schedule. After Bom and Chaerin left, Dara knock on Seungri’s door

 

 

 

 

“You should be careful, next time..” Dara told Seungri after he opens the door

 

 

 

 

“I didn’t know that she will follow him all the way at the back. Did you think she heard something?” Seungri asked her

 

 

 

 

“I don’t know but maybe, that’s why I motion for Minji to follow Chaerin. I just hope she didn’t heard too much..”

 

 

 

 

“I don’t think so, if she does heard something, she will accuse you again but she didn’t..” Minji butted in and the two of them look at the door

 

 

 

 

“I was on time to stops her from listening and to let Trendy to get away and for Chaerin not to let saw Oppa..” she added, Dara nods her head and looks at Seungri

 

 

 

 

“We need to excute the plan tomorrow night and we don’t need some failed attempts, we badly needed these money..” Seunrgi said

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EARLY THE NEXT MORNING

 

 

Chaerin arrives at the shop but found out that the sibling are not there and won’t go to the shop that day

 

 

 

 

“Then why she didn’t let me know that she won’t be here?” She asked  wendy, the cashier

 

 

 

 

“I don’t know Ms. Lee but she left this note and she wants me to give it to you..” Wendy answered and hand over the note her boss left, Chaerin then took it and open the paper

 

 

 

Good Morning my ever dearest Guard,

   Sorry if I can’t make it to work today, we’re about to open another store at Macau and we need to go there, sorry for the short notice but you can have the rest of the day off and oh that includes tomorrow too, so see you when I see you

‘Pretty Boss? Yeah right!’ Chaerin crumples the paper and throw it into the trash can, she took her jacket and went outside of the shop and proceed to their headquarters

 

 

 

Two days had passed when Seunghyun’s team received a note from a stranger stating that there’s going to be a big drug dealing transaction to be held at Port near the headquarters tonight

 

 

 

 

“I will told our men to prepare for tonight..” Chaerin said

 

 

 

 

“Wait, we need to confirm it first before doing such thing..” Bom said to her

 

 

 

 

“She’s right, what if it’s a trap for us? You know we’ve been receiving death threats from those people we already caught and released..” Seunghyun butted in

 

 

 

 

“Come on, we’re detectives and it’s our job to investigate and be there whether it’s true or not. Besides, I have a feeling that those three siblings are up to something..” she answered

 

 

 

 

“Here you go again, Chaerin..” Seunghyun said but Chaerin is determined that girl is up to something

 

 

 

 

“Hear me out guys. Listen carefully..” she said, Bom and Seunghyun looks  to one another then to Chaerin

 

 

 

 

“First, I saw this guy went to their coffee shop..” she said and place the picture of a man selling guns to some teenagers on the table

 

 

 

 

“We caught him, 3 months ago for selling guns. What is he doing at their coffee shop?..” she asked the two

 

 

 

 

“Chaerin, anyone can go inside, it’s a coffee shop for pete sakes..” Bom answered

 

 

 

 

“So you mean all the people who went in can go at the back without asking the owner’s permission?” Seunghyun looks at Bom then to the picture

 

 

 

 

“What do you mean?” Seunghyun asked

 

 

 

 

“I saw him went to the back and none of the employees stops him nor  told him that’s off limits..” she explains and neither the two answered her

 

 

 

 

“Then I saw him talking to someone and I heard him said that they need to execute the plan now..” she added

 

 

 

 

“Plan? What plan?” Bom asked her

 

 

 

 

“I don’t know but I think this illegal operation happening tonight is the one they are talking about..” she answered

 

 

 

 

“You mean that those three are selling drugs??” Seunghyun asked her and Chaerin nods her head

 

 

 

 

“And do you have any proof on that? Did you saw who is he talking too? Come on tell me..” Bom said and this time Chaerin can’t answer because she knows that she didn’t saw the other person talking to him

 

 

 

 

“See? That’s why you always gets into trouble. You like to speculate things, Chae. We’re investigators and not speculators, sheez!” Bom said again

 

 

 

 

“But Unnie!” Chaerin protested

 

 

 

 

“No but’s Chaerin! Now go to your table and I need to talk to Bom..” Chaerin sigh but marched down towards her table then Seunghyun looks at Bom

 

 

 

 

“What do you think?” he asked her

 

 

 

 

“I don’t know but we don’t have a choice here. We need to investigate tonight but I hope that she won’t do stupid things while we’re investigating..” she answered

 

 

 

 

“She won’t. I’ll talk to Jiyong and Daesung and you talk to that girl, I’ll see you later babe..” Seunghyun said

 

 

 

 

Seunghyun’s prepared his men for their investigation tonight, Bom told Chaerin that they will remove her from the team in case she will do something stupid but she knows that they can’t stop her doing whatever she wants to do, Chaerin is one of the best man in Seunghyun’s team and their chief trust her a lot

 

 

 

 

 

 

LATER THAT NIGHT..

 

 

PORT SIDE

 

“Okay guys listen, I need your 101% cooperation on this one, we will divide our teams into two, Bom, Chaerin and Jiyong you will follow me, Drew, Tengco and Runner follow Dae’s order and we will meet here in about an hour or so. If anyone saw you, fight but don’t kill them, we need them alive” Seunghyun said, everyone in their team agrees and nods their heads

 

 

 

 

“Okay, spread out!” he added and position themselves and wait for their targets to arrives

 

 

 

 

 

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PORT

 

 

“Are you sure Trendy sent the message carefully?” Seungri asked his sister Dara who’s chewing a gum while reloading her gun

 

 

 

 

“Yep! I told him to be careful and he will. Especially now that Det. Lee is on his tails again..” Dara answered

 

 

 

 

“If you forgot it Unnie, Chaerin is also on your tails now. With just one mistakes, she will recognize you and pinned you down..” Minji butted in and said to her sister while smiling

 

 

 

 

“Don’t worry my ever dearest maknae, Unnie doesn’t forget that but I’ve got it under control..” Dara answered again

 

 

 

 

“I hope so, now listen. They are here, I can sense them. We’re just after the money, don’t try to make hocus pocus again Dara. Mr. Lane is one of the toughest guy and you know what he can do to us if ever they gonna caught us..”

 

 

 

 

“Don’t worry old brother, I will follow your orders from now on..”

 

 

 

 

“Okay good! Now let’s move..” The three siblings moves like a ninja, Minji saw some shadows moving and lurking at some big containers so she give warning to her brother and sister, Seungri then motion to Dara to move to the left and Minji to the right while him will go straight and act as an look out for the two. Meanwhile, Seunghyun’s group are patiently waiting for them to arrive but Chaerin being the most observant one felt that something’s not right

 

 

 

 

“I don’t like this..” she said to Bom who is sitting next to her

 

 

 

 

“Don’t like what?” Bom asked her

 

 

 

 

“This silence. It feels like something’s going on inside that building..”

 

 

 

 

“I know you’re not used to silence but we need to wait here..”

 

 

 

 

“No Unnie, I can’t take this anymore..” Chaerin then stood up and run then turn left

 

 

 

 

“Damn it! Ji, you stay here, me and Bom will follow Chaerin. Wait for my command..” Seunghyun said, he taps Bom shoulder and follows Chaerin. On the other side, Minji and Dara met in the middle and they wait for Seungri

 

 

 

 

“It’s too quiet..” Dara said to her sister who just looks at her

 

 

 

 

“Do you think this is only a trap?” Minji asked her but before Dara can answer, they saw Seungri walking towards them

 

 

 

 

“I can’t see them but I know they are here..” he said, the three siblings look around then Dara’s heart suddenly beats faster when they heard a metallic door opens and heard footsteps

 

 

 

 

“I think this is only an entrapment for us..” Dara said, Seungri and Minji looks at her with furrow eyebrows

 

 

 

 

“What do you mean by that?” Seungri asked her but before she can speaks they heard a laughter and a voice

 

 

 

 

“Come out, come out wherever you are! I know you are hiding somewhere here..” He said, Minji, Seungri and Dara looks to one another

 

 

 

 

“I have a surprise for you..” He said again but still he doesn’t hear any movements nor see someone else, he then move his head and the siblings heard a cry

 

 

 

 

‘F***! It’s trendy!’ Minji whispered

 

 

 

 

“You see, I don’t like people interfere with my business. I already gave you my first and second warning but still you refuse to stop so there’s nothing I can do but to eliminate your friend and you three..” Seungri don’t know what to do, he knows by now that the whole building is surrounded by Mr. Lane’s men

 

 

 

 

“If I were you, I won’t make this hard for us. Just surrender yourselves and let’s get over this..” Dara then saw a shadow moves to her left and saw a black figure and by the way she moves she knows who she is

 

 

 

 

“Oh come on! Not now!” Dara said, Seungri and Minji looks to where she is looking

 

 

 

 

“Go and rescue her, she doesn’t know who are they dealing with..” Seungri said to him, Dara nods her head then cover her nose down to with a black cloth revealing only her eyes

 

 

 

 

“ Me and Minji will find a way out and rescue Trendy..” he said again, Dara made a salute then moves

 

 

 

 

 

 

Meanwhile

 

UPSTAIRS

 

Chaerin saw a man holding a gun pointing towards the head of a boy, her eyes widen when she saw it’s the guy she saw enters the coffee shop

 

 

 

 

What the f*** is happening here???

 

 

 

 

She doesn’t have any clue on what’s going on but she knows this is not a buy-bust operation anymore, she bend on her knees and try to shoot the man holding a gun but someone saw her and shoot some bullets at her, Dara who is on her way towards Chaerin heard the shots and looks at her

 

 

 

 

Why do I have to rescue this girl if she wants to be dead after all? God! Why do I have to rescue stupid girls!

 

 

She run towards her again eventhough they are showering Chaerin with bullets but then something made Dara to stop, she heard another shot but this time she saw that Trendy fell on the ground

 

 

 

 

“No!” she heard Minji screamed, Chaerin also hears the scream and was about to look on her binoculars when Bom push her

 

 

 

 

“What the hell Chaerin?! I told you not to do stupid things!!” Bom yelled at her but Chaerin ignores her and they heard a voice

 

 

 

 

“I will see you again, V-ri, Eagle Eye and Pretty Face! I’ll make sure the next time we meet, you’re all gonna die!!” he said, Seunghyun saw the shadows running downstairs

 

 

 

 

“Go after that one!” Seunghyun said to Chaerin pointing to a figure looking up on them then run, Bom follows Seunghyun to capture the other two figures

 

 

 

 

“We need to capture them! They can help solving this crime!” Seunghyun said

 

 

 

 

“How can you say that? What if they are with them?!” Bom asked him while they both run

 

 

 

 

“If they are with them, they will be shooting at us knowing that we are their enemy but they didn’t” Bom  nod her head and continue following Seunghyun and hopes that Chaerin caught the other one and help them to be their witness

 

 

 

 

 

“Damn! She’s fast!” Chaerin said as she continues to follow the tracks of the figure she’s after, she notice the movement the black figure did and remembers the girl she encounters a few weeks ago

 

 

 

 

“Could it be?” she asked herself, she saw the figure turn right and Chaerin stops, she thinks for a while and made a detour knowing that maybe the figure is waiting for her there but when she made her way to where the figure disappears, she didn’t saw anything

 

 

 

 

“Where the hell did it go?” she asked herself while looking around then before she can pull her trigger, a couple of boxes fell on top of her and saw the figure jump on her, now Chaerin is pinned down on the ground while the figure on top of her is smiling based on her eyes

 

 

 

 

“It’s you!!” Chaerin said, the girl winks at her then run again

 

 

 

 

“Oh no you don’t” Chaerin said, if this girls is fast, she is too. She chase the girl and didn’t give up then she saw a bridge, she climb up the stairs leading a shortcut where the girl will wake her way out of the building, when she saw her, she jump and landed in front of her

 

 

 

 

“I’m way smarter than you are..” Chaerin said while pointing a gun towards her, the girl on the other hands keep her eyes roaming around trying to find something she can fight back but to her luck, all she can see is boxes

 

 

 

 

“there’s no escpae now, Ms. Elusive thief! Now remove your mask..” she said, commanding the girl

 

 

 

 

“Why don’t you do it?” the girl said, she can’t recognize the voice coming out because of the mask

 

 

 

 

“You can’t outsmart me this time, remove your mask now!”

 

 

 

 

“I’m not trying to outsmart you. Don’t tell me that Det. Lee is afraid that I can escape her for the second time around”

 

 

 

 

“Enough of the chit chat! Remove your mask or I’ll shoot you..”

 

 

 

 

“Go ahead and shoot me, you will lose a potential witness in this crime..” but still Chaerin didn’t move and keeps her gun pointing at her, the figure gives up and said

 

 

 

 

“Fine..” then moves her right hand and pulls the mask down revealing her face and Chaerin hearts to starts to beat faster than it should

 

 

 

 

“I knew it! I f****ing knew it!!” she said

 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 9 (Sneak Peek)

 

 

“Okay you two lovebirds, this is you nest for at least two months until we know who killed Trendy”

 

 

 

 

“Are you still punishing me? She don’t need to be protected”

 

 

 

 

“Hey! I heard that! I have the answers to your question for your information so you need to guard me..”

 

 

 

 

“Why would I risk my life protecting people like you?”

 

 

 

 

“Because people like me can help people like you who keeps on investigating and haven’t got a clue what’s going on..”
