Jungkook snapped up to see why Seo Young was so sad.
“I can’t believe I forgot my backpack! Just when this was supposed to be a study session. I’m so stupid! Sorry, Jungkook,” she apologized, ducking her head to hide her embarrassment.
Jungkook released a soft chuckle and ruffled her hair. “Aigoo, is that what you’re worried about?” In truth, he didn’t really intend for this to be a study session at all. He actually had wanted it to be an opportunity for the two of them to hangout and get to know each other more. He opened his mouth to propose that they grab a drink instead. “Hey, would you like to-”
Before he could finish, Seo Young pushed herself off her chair. “Sorry, Jungkook. I’ll be right back. I’m gonna grab my backpack from home and be right back.” She started jogging briskly towards the door, chastising herself for her forgetfulness. She didn’t even glance back to see how Jungkook reacted, afraid that her shame would undoubtly show through if she did.
Picking up her speed to a mild sprint, she dashed down the street towards her house. Upon nearing it, she pulled out her keys and burst through the door, afraid that if she wasted any more time, Jungkook would feel impatient and leave the coffee shop.
