If there's a Hell on Earth, it's High School.

Skoolboy Luv

Monday. One of the most dreaded words in any teenagers life. Even more so for Min Yoongi, who was commonly referred to as Suga. This Monday was particularly dreadful for Yoongi because today was his first day at Nelson Collegiate. An upscale all boys school his parents were forcing him to go to after we was kicked out of his old school. See, Yoongi wasn’t a bad kid, no if anything he was just a dumb kid. He chose friends he knew would get him into trouble, dated boys he knew would break his heart, and said things to teachers he knew his parents would hear about. However no one knew why Yoongi behaved this way, least of Yoongi himself but one thing was for sure, his parents had had enough.

“Yoongi, you are not going to be late on your first day. Get down here now!” He heard his mother shout from downstairs. He rolled his eyes, and looked at his reflection. He tugged at the crisp white shirt, carelessly untucking it from his black slacks. A smirk found it’s way to his face as he imagined how much trouble me might get in if he left it like that. What was wrong with him? He quickly tucked it back in before taking a look around the room; his gaze lingering on his unmade bed. He longed to be curled in it’s warmth, instead here he was grabbing his backpack mentally preparing himself for the day ahead.

“Oh honey, you look so handsome!” His mother squealed when he sat down at the kitchen table. His father merely glanced up from the paper and nodded slightly. In approval Yoongi assumed.

He decided to purposefully ignore his mother’s comment, so she would know he was still upset about their decision to send him to some posh school. A plate was pushed towards him, and Yoongi stared down in disgust. So she’s still on her health kick

A quick glance at his father made him rethink pushing the plate away, so he picked up his knife and fork and cut into the omelette slowly. He did nothing to hide the grimace on his face after each bite. After what felt like an eternity, he pushed his now empty plate away and stood up. I had better brush my teeth. He didn’t want to show up on his first day with spinach in his teeth.

At precisely 7:30 A.M. Yoongi climbed into the car after his parents. Ready to make the 30 minute commute to his new school. Today was going to . He had this thought the whole way, not for a moment letting his mind wander away from it. Finally Yoongi saw the gates to his new hell school; he wanted nothing more than to beg his father to turn the car around but knew it would be no use. He couldn’t deny that the buildings in front of him looked impressive, but he was hardly going to let that show. He got out of the car, and stared up at the big stone buildings that seemed to loom over him. Out of his peripheral he saw his parents walking up stone steps leading towards what looked to be the main building. He slung his bag over his shoulder, and rushed to follow.

Yoongi could smell the money. The whole school and in fact most of the people in it reeked of it. He shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot while we watched his parents thank the headmaster for his ‘gracious acceptance of their talented and bright son.’ He couldn't help but snort at that. Liars. His mother walked towards him, and yanked him into her arms. She hugged him so hard, he was sure that he would have bruises by tonight. He wasn’t sure why she felt the need to hug like this was the last time. He’d see her tonight. “Enjoy your first day honey. Work hard, and please please stay out of trouble.” She caught his eyes, and Yoongi could see the pleading look in them. He for a moment felt a stab of guilt for everything he put them through, but quickly pushed it aside. He untangled himself from his mother, and stood up straight, preparing himself for what his father might say. To his surprise his father just hugged Yoongi by the shoulders while mumbling a quiet ‘have a good day.’ His father stepped back to stand next to his mother. Yoongi suddenly felt the overwhelming urge not to ruin his chances at the school. Where did that come from?

As Yoongi watched his parents walk away, he felt a heavy hand land on his shoulder. He turned slightly, and saw the headmaster. “If you’ll just follow me, we’ll get your class schedule and someone to show you around.” The way the headmaster spoke to him sent shivers down his spine. Clearly he had read Yoongi’s report from his previous schools. Yoongi had no doubt that the first mistake he made here, this man would throw him out of this school. By force too, he seemed like that kind of guy. The headmaster turned toward a brightly lit office, and Yoongi had no choice but to follow him.

After just fifteen minutes of the printer wheezing and coughing out paper, Yoongi had his timetable in his hands. He looked over his schedule for today, and couldn't help but groan internally. I knew I was dreading today for a reason. He was startled out of his thoughts by a flash of white with black attached. What was that? No sooner had the thought entered his head, he got his answer. As it turns out it was a boy. A beautiful boy clad in a uniform identical to Yoongi’s. He had black hair, arms that looked like they would pop out of his button down at any minute, and the cutest face Yoongi had ever seen. Yoongi could no nothing but gape like a fish out of water at the creature in front of him.

“I’m Jimin. Park Jimin. You must be Yoongi, nice to meet you.” Jimin paused and stared at Yoongi before speaking again. “Why do you look so shocked? The headmaster told you I was going to show you around right?” Yoongi could have slapped himself for not listening to the headmaster when he was talking. Damnit. I look like an idiot. He cleared these thoughts, and nodded dumbly at Jimin. He heard Jimin chuckle quietly and couldn’t help but want to hear more. “Okay, well what do you have first? I’ll take you there” Jimin spoke swiftly with a smile on his face, and Yoongi was absolutely sure that he had fallen in love. “i-i-i-i I h-h-have w-w-world h-h-h-history.” Yoongi mentally punched himself for stuttering through the whole sentence. Stupid.

Jimin laughed out loud at that. Whether it was at Yoongi’s stuttering or the way that he stared at the ground when he spoke Yoongi did not know, but he really didn’t care. All he cared about was how beautiful the boy looked when he laughed. His eyes that sparkled just moments before had all but disappeared into slits. Yoongi found the sight adorable. His mouth was curved upwards showing rows of pearly white teeth. He was blinded by their brilliance. But what got Yoongi the most his laugh. It was literally music to his ears. For him, all music paled in comparison to Park Jimin’s laugh. Yoongi must have spent too much time staring because all too soon the laughter ceased, and Jimin was looking at him worriedly. “Hey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to laugh. You just looked to cute!” He reached a hand out and pinched one of Yoongi’s rapidly colouring cheeks. Yoongi was quick to slap his hand away, “Yah! I do not look cute. If either of us looks cute, it’s you okay! So just keep your hands to yourself!” He had no idea why he’d snapped, or what possessed him to tell Jimin he thought he was cute. But hey, at least he didn’t stutter. Jimin chuckled again, and flashed him a small smile. He leaned closer to Yoongi, almost whispering in his ear, “So you think I’m cute, huh?”

Yoongi stumbled backwards, and would have fallen had strong arms not reached out to grab him. He was not expecting Jimin to pick up on the compliment. He quickly shook Jimin’s hands off him; choosing to ignore his question he asked instead, “Are you going to show me to my class or not?” He tapped his foot impatiently just to emphasise his point. Jimin laughed out loud again, and Yoongi swore that it would be the death of him. He felt a warm hand encircle his wrist and was quickly being tugged along the hallways by one Park Jimin.

Yoongi was being pulled along at such a fast pace that he barely noticed the glares he was receiving from several students. What’s their problem? He felt his anger flare up, and wanted nothing more than punch the looks off their faces. He had a short temper, and it was often the thing that got him in trouble. In fact the very last school he had gone to, the final straw had been him hitting a guy who had said some snide remark. Yoongi couldn’t remember what exactly he’d said, all he knew was how angry he had gotten. He felt the pressure on his wrist loosen, and looked up to see Jimin highfiving a group of boys standing in front of them. “Man, where were you at practice? The coach was swearing up storm, thinking you’d ditched the team or-“ a boy with brown blonde hair, abruptly halted speaking when he caught sight of Yoongi. His eyes widened while his mouth hung open in an ‘O’ shape. Another boy, with white blonde hair pushed the palm of his hand against the bottom of his jaw, and closed the other’s mouth forcefully. Yoongi was sure he heard his teeth smash together painfully. If the boy felt any pain, he said nothing and instead continued to star at Yoongi, in fact they all did. All Yoongi could do was shrink behind Jimin’s back which was no easy feat considering he was slightly taller than the boy. “Who are you gorgeous?” The brown-blonde haired boy spoke, while eyeing him, in a way that Yoongi wasn't entirely comfortable with.

Yoongi was just about to leap forward and give this guy a piece of his mind, but Jimin beat him to the punch. “Leave him alone you Hoseok; you creep. He’s my new friend, and I’m sure he doesn’t want the likes of you trying to flirt with him.” His tone of voice was joking, but there was something underlining that Yoongi couldn’t quite catch. Hoseok jumped forward with a smile on his face and rustled Jimin’s hair before saying ‘You know I’m joking Jiminnie! I only have eyes for a certain orange haired beauty.” He watched Hoseok look to his left and bat his eyelashes at the orange haired boy next to him. Said boy just snorted, but slung his arm over Hoseok’s shoulder affectionately.

“Sorry, Yoongi these are my friends. The creep in front of you is Hoseok,” He watched the brown-blonde boy give a small wave and a peace sign before resuming playing with a lock of orange hair. “The tall staunch one is Namjoon, but everyone calls him Rap Monster.” Yoongi looked at the white blonde haired boy slowly analysing him before deciding that he seemed alright. “The one Hoseok is attached at the hip to is Kim Taehyung,” he leaned closer to Yoongi before whispering, “don’t ask my why he has orange hair because no one knows.” Yoongi chuckled. “And that there is Jungkook.” He followed Jimin’s gaze to an attractive looking boy standing against the wall looking bored. “Guys, this is Min Yoongi. He’s just moved here. I’m showing him around.” Jimin spoke quickly, with a smile on his face. Yoongi couldn’t help but smile in return. Maybe smiles really are contagious. While Yoongi was stuck thinking about how beautiful Jimin’s smile was, he didn’t realise he was again be pulled down the hallway. “What where are we going?” he heard himself ask.

“Don’t worry, we’ll catch up with them at lunch time. I just figured I’d better actual take you to class before you’re late.” Jimin answered. Yoongi stole a glance at his watch, and saw that it was now 8:55 P.M. and realised he was indeed going to be late if they didn’t hurry. With just a minute to spare, Jimin stopped in front of a door the read CLASS 201. Yoongi assumed this was where his World History class was. Jimin dropped his wrist and gestured toward the door. “There you go, World History. I’ll come get you after class, and show you to your next one, okay? Jimin held his gaze, and Yoongi felt himself blush slightly. He mumbled a quiet ‘thanks’ finally tearing his gaze away from Jimin. Jimin chuckled next to him, and wished him luck before running off to his own class. As Yoongi went to push the door open, he had a thought. Did Jimin say I was his new friend?

Maybe today wouldn’t so bad.
