The Light in the Dark Haunting   “Hey, Fany-ah.” Tiffany glanced behind her just in time to spot Sunny walking her way with a smile and her eyes twinkling with mirth. It didn’t take long for her to reach her friend as she wrapped her arm around the taller girl with a wonderful laugh, “How were your classes so far?”   Tiffany eyed her carefully, not really knowing whether to say the truth or make up a lie so Sunny wouldn’t be disappointed in her. However, Tiffany knew that if Sunny found out about her white lie she would be even angrier by the fact that Tiffany didn’t give her the response that she was hoping for. Even so, how could she lie about how her day was? Besides the small inconvenience in her first class with the Jung person, everything had gone well enough for her.    “I met this Jung girl who practically shoved me away from a seat in which she claimed was hers and hers alone.” Tiffany stated simply as Sunny continued guiding them in the direction of the schools cafeteria.    There was a hum coming from next to her and she glanced over at Sunny with a curios look in her face. “What is it?” Sunny shook her head as if coming to the conclusion that telling Tiffany what was on her mind wasn’t really worth it. Maybe it really wasn’t worth telling Tiffany about that troublemaker of a girl. “No, it’s nothing.”    Tiffany stopped causing Sunny to stop as well. Sunny looked up surprised, “Oh, come on, Sunny. There’s something about her isn’t it?”    “No. Maybe it’s not even her to begin with.” Sunny mumbled as she began leading Tiffany once again. Tiffany sighed before she pulled away from Sunny and stood her ground awaiting an answer. Sunny eyed her carefully before sighing in defeat. She knew that it was useless because Tiffany was as stubborn as a bull and Sunny was too, so why get so worked up over something as simple as a person. But the thing was it wasn’t just any person. “Jessica Jung. That’s her name,” there was an evident pause before Sunny spoke up once again, “and that’s all I’m going to tell you about her.”   Tiffany nodded but before she could speak her mind Sunny was already walking away from her. “Why is that the only thing you’re going to tell me about her?” Tiffany exclaimed after her as she made her way over to Sunny’s side once more.    Sunny turned to face her but this time with an exasperated expression before she poked Tiffany’s side and stated matter-of-factly, “I’m in no position to talk about her and besides… she’s Jessica. If you want to find out more about her than why don’t you ask her yourself? Although, I doubt she’ll let you in.”   “Why is that?” Tiffany questioned causing Sunny to roll her eyes at her. “Because, my dear Miyoung, she’s a problematic girl. Thing is, we all have a dark past, do we not? She’s one of those people who just can’t seem to get over it.”    Tiffany wanted to ask more, she really did but she new she was testing the limit with Sunny and she also knew that if she kept it up sooner or later Sunny would just simply shut her up completely. A dark past. Tiffany wondered what that could be and if it was truly something terrible for her to be acting this way towards everybody else. But of course that would also explain a lot of things about her attitude and her behavior.    “Come on, Sherlock. You won’t be able to solve anything with an empty stomach.” Sunny proclaimed as she pushed through the black doors and soon an explosion of different sounds hit their ears as they walked through. “I’m starving.”   Tiffany followed Sunny through the crowds until they were able to see an empty table near the center of the cafeteria. Sunny and Tiffany sat down and it wasn’t long before they both pulled out their respected lunches and began eating.    “Hey, you…” Tiffany looked up just in time to see Taeyeon coming from behind Sunny before poking her sides causing Sunny to let out a soft chuckle and slap Taeyeon’s face away from hers, “Hey, yourself.” Tiffany could only watch in confusion and be surprised by the intimacy of their small yet playful banter. She studied them as Taeyeon took a seat down next to her and looked over at Sunny’s lunch. “How were your classes?” As she questioned Sunny, she skillfully and swiftly stole a grape from Sunny’s lunch and popped it into . “Ugh, so tiring. The teacher wouldn’t stop questioning us about how our vacation went and if we had even studied at all… I mean not like anybody would but still he knew that and yet he asked us questions about chemistry that we still haven’t even seen.”   There was a long silence and it didn’t take long for Sunny to realize that the question that Taeyeon had directed over to her was just a form of distraction so she wouldn’t notice Taeyeon stealing half her lunch. Sunny pouted before she grabbed a hold of Taeyeon’s wrist effectively stopping her from eating anymore of her grapes. “Taeyeon-ah. If you’re hungry why don’t you eat your own lunch instead of stealing it from me?”   Taeyeon made a whining sound in the back of before she spoke up in a saddened tone, “Because Sooyoung ate my lunch before I could even take a single bite out of it. Besides Jessica wasn’t there, so I couldn’t take her lunch either. I was lunch-less until I saw you over here.”    “First of all, Taeyeon; lunch-less isn’t a word and second of all… take better care of your food!” Sunny proclaimed as she pushed her food away from Taeyeon’s reach and instead hit her softly with the back of her hand.    Taeyeon rolled her eyes and that was when her gaze landed on Tiffany who was picking at her food with an unreadable expression on her face. Taeyeon instantly felt bad for not noticing her sooner and for having Tiffany feel as if they had been ignoring her. “Oh. Hey, Tiffany-ssi.”    Tiffany raised her head and flashed her a grin causing her eyes to smile along with her. “Hey Taeyeon-ssi.”    Sunny looked between the two with a confused expression before it finally dawned on her, “So… you guys know each other?”    They both looked over to Sunny and Taeyeon nodded as she sat back down next to Sunny, “Same class. We met this morning when Jessica told her to move from her desk, she sat down next to me.” Taeyeon smiled again causing a dimple to form on her cheek before she turned over to face Tiffany again before glancing at Sunny, “And you guys…?” She trialed off, indicating for them to answer her unfinished questioned.   “Tiffany and I go way back. She was a childhood friend and her parents are really close to my family. We’re practically family.” Sunny replied softly as she recalled childhood memories.    “Oh. That’s great but how come I’ve only just seen and heard about you, Tiffany-ssi?” Taeyeon questioned.    “That’s because I’ve just transferred here. My father got a job opportunity that required for us to move here. But I don’t know why you haven’t heard about me.” Tiffany explained as she finished and directed her gaze over to Sunny, questioning her about Taeyeon not knowing about her and vice versa.    “Tiffany… let me introduce Taeyeon… she’s my best friend. We’ve known each other since we were about ten.” She explained with a small smile before facing Taeyeon and adding, “Taeyeon, meet Tiffany one of my childhood friends who had to go to the states at an early age and recently got back.”    Tiffany and Taeyeon simply shook their head at Sunny’s tardiness, “Wow, Sunny-ah. That’s wonderful to here. I didn’t know you had another best friend.” Taeyeon stated sarcastically before stealing a grape from Sunny once more causing Sunny to roll her eyes.    “Well… I haven’t talked to Tiffany in
