Foreword

 .Prologue.

She stepped out the car and pulled the beanie on her ears as the bitterly cold breeze stung her ears. She masked the corner of her jaw with her auburn hair, hiding the scar. She stared at the dark iron gates that she swore to never cross again, but she never imagined that the need to live would bring her back to that same place where her soul died.

"I will pick you up at five." Her mother smiled. "Be careful and I love you."

She nodded and whispered love you too' to her mom and she watched her mother drive away. How could she tell her mother that she was back to the dark world of the devil? The ruthless devil that left no stone unturned in order to hurt her... The ruthless devil who was in love with her once. How could she tell her mother that in order to fight for every breath she was going to die a mental death every single day because of his humiliations? She pulled her sleeves until her palms and held on to the strap of her Hollister messenger bag. She walked on the cold black concrete, where she had bruised her knees many times three years ago because of his words and the way his every moment pierced her heart.

She kept her head low and she hoped that nobody would sense her return as she entered through main gates. She weaved out her way through the classic social cliques and walked towards the admissions office. She blended in the crowd effortlessly because it was the first day of school for everyone. Nobody seemed to pay much attention to the other person unless the person was part of the group or if the person was part of the elite circle. She had blocked out the world anyways by putting ear plugs and the volume of the music was high enough to cut her off from the worthless banter of the world she had no hope for.

With every stride she just hoped that she wouldn't cross paths with him. Well, it seemed like she didn't have much luck. The moment she took another unfortunate step towards the admissions building, he stepped out. With one look she could tell that he had changed and by change she meant, he had become way more dangerous than he was three years ago. The moment her eyes looked up, she saw those distant and cold eyes. The light brown color of his eyes still reflected his hostile personality. Just his presence almost stopped her heart because of fear. She looked down before he could notice her. She closed her eyes as she passed by him, but for once she thanked the crowd of the students for being there. She heaved a sigh of relief the moment she walked in to the building.

She greeted the receptionist in low voice and gave her the admission slip. The receptionist excused herself and went to get the packet. It seemed that her wishing list was getting long because this time she wished and hoped that she wouldn't get her old locker and old schedule. The thing about the locker was that it stayed the same until the student graduated even if the student left school the locker stayed locked until the graduation year passed and because the school was a private school the entire grade seemed to flock around together until the graduation day just the sections were different and she just hoped that she wouldn't be in the same section as him. When the receptionist gave her the packet, she left the admissions' office as soon as possible.

She opened and she froze where she was. She kept staring at it as if the entire schedule and locker number would change. At that moment death seemed so much easier and less painful. Crucial thoughts started to invade her head along with crushing whatever hope she had. Is it really worth it? I am going to die anyways. She thought as she walked lifelessly. She was so shocked and scared that she didn't even realize she bumped into someone. She heard a raspy sorry and she just nodded. She wasn't much of a talker anyways. She hardly whispered a word or two. With a wrecked past and death howling above her head, keeping a normal conversation was like a walk on water. Just as much as death scared her, she also stopped breathing with his one look. But she never understood what was the reason behind Wu Yifan's hostility towards her?

                            !Broken Heart!

His dreams were haunting him yet again. He could never grasp the thought fully that she just disappear three years ago. The hate for her seemed to have become the essential need for his life. He hadn't even had one bit peacefulness since the day she had disappeared. Her face was the only scene in the world that could take away his mind from his hidden, but broken world. It was her emotions when he humiliated her which made him vicious. She used to seem like she was listening to some uninterested lecture. He thought it was either that she masked everything very well or she really was unaffected. She was everything that he hated. She was weak. And her weakness opened the nightmares of his past; her frail personality was a window to his wounds. He hated her even more for that reason. He had hurt her many times, of course only through his words. He would never dare to hurt women physically. He hated that idea just as much as he hated her.

He jumped out of the bed. He did his morning practices quickly so he could get out of his personal hell as soon as possible. He didn't want to spare another moment in his broken world. He hated the off white walls of his mansion. He hated the echo of his own voice in that deserted mansion and the loneliness it brought to him. He wanted to get away from the family pictures because they reminded him of the memories which shook his entire existence.

He met with his friends in the school's parking lot and head to fetch his schedule. Every single time he looked at the section number, it reminded him of her. It was crazy that he remembered everything about her so vividly. It was like as if she had imprinted his mind. He shook his head to get away from those haunting memories and his subtle guilt. He head out as the guys started their traditional chatter about the length of the cheerleader's skirt. He laughed as his childhood friend, Luhan, started hitting on that cheerleader. His laugh died when noticed the familiar listless light brown eyes and those auburn hair. The entire world around him faded as his past flashed in front of him. The figure passed by him and he inhaled the perfume. The goddamn scent was way too similar to hers. It took him few seconds to absorb the reality, but when he turned around the figure disappeared just like three years ago. He couldn't have imagined it. The moment was way too real, especially the scent. But it couldn't be her. It couldn't be Seoyun Hwang, His wallflower.
