The sound of hair between flat irons was the only thing heard at the Kim residence that morning. 

"Look, I've only done one-half of your head and you looking ing cute." Baekhyun grinned smugly as she gathered a part of the latter's hair to straighten. Minseok smiled at Baekhyun through the reflection of her mirror. 

"Thanks!" 

"Of course. I wouldn't let a friend go outside with hideous hair like that." Baekhyun stated. Jongdae was currently dozing off on Minseok's bed, lying on the mattress unknowingly. He fell asleep within a matter of seconds of sitting down since he only got in an hour of sleep last night. Jongdae was busy working on a research project for the chem team. He and Chanyeol would be participating in the regional chemistry competition in a few months and he wants to make sure they'd win. 

Baekhyun turned after they both heard a soft snore from him. "Ew. Wake up, you freaking caveman." She was about to punch him in the side to wake him up, but Minseok stopped him. 

"No, just let him sleep." Minseok smiled. "He must be tired."

"With what?" Baekhyun raised a brow. "All he ever does is do that chemistry stuff he always talks about."

"It must probably be stressful for him. The competition is sooner that you think.." 

"Whatever," Baekhyun sighed with a roll of her eyes. "Anyway, about that date!" 

"Oh.. right." Minseok let out a nervous laugh. She was excited but rather uncomfortable with the idea of going on a date with Jongin. No, she didn't like him, but he was a boy nonetheless. She never had a boy ask her out before and look so genuinely interested in her. "I don't know about that, Baekhyun.."

"What do you mean?" Baekhyun gasped. "Jongin's a great guy! You're gonna be fine, he's super nice and cute. Don't worry about it! I know him. We go way back."  

"Way back?" Minseok raised a brow. "Did you steal him from someone too?" Baekhyun frowned before smacking Minseok on the arm playfully. 

"No! Gross. I don't like him like that." Baekhyun rolled her eyes as she finished straightening the smaller's hair. "I mean I've known him since I was a kid, I thought you would've figured that out by now." Baekhyun subtly motioned towards a sleeping Jongdae. Minseok didn't seem to catch it though. 

"Oh." Minseok replied after thought. 

"Don't worry! And it'll just be good practice. Think of it like that." Minseok pursed her lips before letting out a sigh. 

"Now let me do your make up!" 

Jongdae was dreaming. In his dream, he was standing next to Chanyeol, holding that huge two-foot trophy that read Chemistry Olympiad Champions across its front proudly. Strange enough, Baekhyun was standing beside Chanyeol, the two of them grinning at each other. He's never seen Baekhyun so happy before, looking up at that giant oaf he called his best friend. Sure, they were two completely different people, but they looked rather... good together; good enough that it was quite unsettling. How could two complete opposites look perfect for each other? 

Jongdae shook his head from the thought, turning to his side to see Minseok, beaming up at him with a wide grin—that huge, crooked, gummy grin she always wears whenever she's happy. Jongdae always liked that smile, but Baekhyun told her to quit it since it was a bit much. Since then, Minseok only snuck him those grins when Baekhyun wasn't looking. She was wearing her... soccer jersey? Her hair was up in her usual ponytail and her face was clear of all makeup and any traces of Byun Baekhyun. What a strange dream.

"Congrats baby!" Minseok squealed. Jongdae's grew incredulous within a split-second. Baby? What the--

He was cut off when she threw her arms around his shoulders, nuzzling her face into his chest in a tight hug. Jongdae could feel his face heat up as all the blood rushed to his cheeks. 

"You deserve it!" Minseok looked up at him, showing no intentions of letting him go. Before he knew it, Minseok tiptoed, inching closer to his face. What the ? What the hell? What is this? Why is she doing this? What is going on? Jongdae's face felt like it couldn't get any redder as he looked at her, eyes shut and pink lips puckered like she was going to... kiss him? 

"Jongdae..."

Holy , Minseok's gonna kiss me. Holy what do I do? Do I kiss her? Jongdae seemed to go through a crisis as she inched closer.

"Jongdae, wake up."

Oh my God she's getting closer. Jongdae shut his eyes tightly, pursing his lips as he waited for the petite girl to kiss him.

"Jongdae, it's time to go to school." 

The boy's eyes shot open right before their lips touched, his breath slightly ragged. Once the blur disappeared from his sight, he found Minseok, staring down at him. This time, her hair was flowing down, face covered in light makeup. The only thing that was the same were those deep brown eyes.

"M-Minseok--" Jongdae choked on his saliva. He suddenly realized where he was. He was still at Minseok's, lying on her bed where he knocked out as soon as he got there.

"You must've slept well." she giggled. His cheeks flushed as she stood straight again, grabbing her bag and slinging it over her shoulder. The boy didn't bother responding, since he was feeling Baekhyun's humiliating stare bore holes right through him. Minseok was first out the door, leaving Baekhyun and Jongdae.

"Must've been a really good dream, huh?" she teased, making a kissy face at Jongdae. The boy gasped, burying his face into his hands in embarrassment. Baekhyun trotted out of the room, her obnoxious laughter ringing through the house.
