Eunjae’s POV~

I took one last breath before exhaling it into my flute, making sure that I followed the decrescendo and faded my last note. I was greeted by a mere second of silence before my audience rose to their feet and gave me a round of applause.

“Brilliant!”

“Simply exquisite!”

Like any professional, I tried to keep a straight face and bowed at a 90 degree angle. I thanked everyone for coming to my recital and headed back stage, to be greeted by a pair of flowers and welcome arms.

“Congratulations sweetie! You did great!” My mother exclaimed as I earned a thumbs up sign from my father. After several minutes of interviews and questions from several reporters and fans, I finally grabbed my jacket and headed to the car.

“What’s wrong Eunjae? You seem disappointed in yourself.” My father asked noting my silence. My hand was resting on my cheek, supporting my face as I leaned my forehead on the cool car window.

“I don’t know, I’m just looking for something.” Even I had to wonder what was going through my mind at that statement. But I’ve gotten so tired of this. This is already the third recital I had this month and I’m tired of each and every one. It’s not that I’m tired of the stage; I’m simply tired of the same old instruments. I already grew tired from blowing air into my trumpet and flute, and I grew annoyed of running my bow down the cello and violin strings. I want a change in life for yet again.

“We’re home Eunjae.” My mother called and I stepped out of the car and headed straight to my room. I could only plop myself down on the fluffy bed that welcomed me with its cushiony self. It was one of the rare moments where I got to relax and not be uptight about everything.

DING!

Well, it was good while it lasted. I got up and sat down at my wooden desk. I had one new e-mail from my friend Hyeji. It didn’t say anything, just sent me straight to a Youtube video. It titled “(Big Bang) Haru Haru – Sungha Jung (New).” After a few minutes of loading, I pressed play. It started out with the camera close up on a microphone stand, yet as it backed away it revealed a boy playing the guitar. Big whoop, Hyeji why’d you send me this?

Yet as the video progressed, I couldn’t help but become more and more transfixed on his playing. The way his finger’s strummed every note, how his hands moved every second on the guitar’s neck, and his concentration.

When it ended, I couldn’t help but research him a little. I was quite shocked to find him to be only 14. How can that be so? How can someone be so young yet so talented? Yet I continued to ponder these thoughts, only to be answered by my own life. Here I am; a 14 year old girl who plays 4 different instruments.

“Sungha Jung.” I said his name out loud and couldn’t’ help but smile.
