Because We Collided
Description
Kim Sungmi had always wanted to become a performer. The hums of the crowd as her name rolls off the tongues of her fans, the rush as she feels the beat of the music with her body, the feeling when she finally hits the high notes she had practiced for years on stage—she wanted it all. After a turn of events in her home caused her to question where her life is headed, she decided to drop everything having to do with her time in America and move back to Korea for the first time in 10 years in order to pursue a career as an idol. A rash decision, maybe, but she had been pining for the idol life ever since her early days in dancing classes back when she lived in Korea.
From the moment she lands in Seoul, Sungmi discovers that idol life is different than she imagined—in many ways. Just when she starts to doubt her decision to become an idol trainee, an old friend helps remind her of what really matters. Motivation renewed, she continues on her path to stardom, making a few new friends and enemies along the way.
Foreword
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
-William W. Purkey
