Chapter 16

Reunited (A YeSung Love Story)

“I’m not saying that I don’t like you, because I do!! I’m just…”

I panicked worrying the words weren’t coming out right.

“It’s fine. Don’t worry about it.”

However the tone of voice he used to say this said the opposite.

He stood up and started to walk down the stairs.

“Well, thanks for at least thinking about it…”

I bit my lip. Had I done the wrong thing?

He continued to make his way down the stairs.

I went to follow him but stopped myself.

It would all be too awkward to continue with our normal ways now.

In a way, I hated him for bringing it up.

It was all so sudden.

I remembered what time it was.

I should just do my homework and go back to bed.

That was what mattered at the moment.

The next day when I awoke the house was in complete silence.

Obviously, Ye Sung had told my mother what happened.

I couldn’t blame him.

She did deserve to know.

Now, no one seemed to be talking.

Not my mother, father or Ye Sung.

Talk about awkward. My house’s atmosphere was the definition of the word!

I walked downstairs cautiously.

I didn’t want to say anything at the moment to anyone.

I grabbed an apple from the kitchen and my bag from the living room then headed straight for the front door.

I hadn’t seen Ye Sung around. Maybe he was in the bathroom, now.

I opened the front door and walked out.

As I closed it and turned around, I noticed Ye Sung standing there.

I jumped in surprise.

“W-why…”

“Shouldn’t I ask you that?”

“Urmm…what?”

“If you’re trying to avoid me at the moment, I understand.”

“I’m not…”

“It’s obvious!”

I paused, not knowing what would be right to say next.

“It’s awkward.”

“I know!”

“Then, leave me alone and give me some time!”

I didn’t mean for the words to come out so harshly but I couldn’t control it.

He looked at me for a few seconds.

His eyes were wide, as if they were screaming.

His eyes suddenly darted down.

He nodded. “Of course. I’ll do that.”

He turned around and started to walk.

I covered my face with my hands.

Why is my life always so complicated!?

I didn’t enjoy school, as you could of guessed.

I didn’t tell anyone about Ye Sung.

And the fact that he hadn’t turned up made things even worse.

I had a long hard think about what I was going to say to him.

It was almost rehearsed into my head, I had it all planned out.

I got hom and went into the kitchen.

There, was my mother, as always.

She glanced at me, looking as if she had something to say.

I ignored it.

“Where’s…”

“He’s gone.”

I looked at her more seriously.

“Gone!?”I repeated.

My mother nodded. “B-but how!?”I was stuttering with confusion.

“He thought it would be better for you both if he left a few days early.”

My mother paused and sighed.

“He left about half an hour ago.”

I felt tears coming to my eyes.

This wasn’t how I wanted it to end.

I had to do something. But what!?
