Found.

Lost.

It had been 7 months since that day. The shattering of her heart: when she saw Jongin and another girl together. She still hadn't forgotten that day. Every day, every hour, she could only think about him. Every time she went out, she hoped she could run into him somewhere. It was getting worse. Being away from him made her miss him even more, and she still didn't even know him. Sometimes, she even wondered if he was thinking of her.

But then, there was also the guy that night. He came into the washroom and comforted her, even covering up her crying to her friend. Why was he so nice? She didn't even know him either. All she knew was that he was friends with Jongin, and it seemed like he had a girlfriend. Maybe he was just naturally nice; since he probably had a girlfriend, he had to be nice, right? She had seen him skating around and holding hands with a girl, so he probably was taken. Either way, she didn't really care about him at the moment. All she could think about was Jongin. She was being too obsessive and letting him take over her life.

However, it was finally the time of the year again. It was the first day that skating began again for this season, and Lily was on her way onto the rink. She had no idea how she survived the 7 months; maybe by drowning herself in music and homework? All that mattered now was that she was able to see him in a couple minutes. Or at least, she hoped he would still be there.

Getting out of the car, she looked around, hoping to see any sign of him being here. She saw a group of guys outside on their skateboards, but none of them resembled him. She quickly went into the arena and opened the door, looking in through the window.

And there she saw him.

He just walked past the door with his friend, going to his usual bench beside the door. Luckily he wasn't looking her way, or he would've seen her embarrassed face. Lily quickly went in and up to her usual spot again, catching a glimpse of him before taking off her shoes and getting her skates off.

There didn't seem like much hope of him recognizing her. She feared this. But at the same time, isn't it a good thing that he forgot the creeper she was? She could possibly start new and try not to give him a lot of attention.

She got up and went onto the ice with her friend, starting to skate around aimlessly, chatting with each other. Too into the conversation, she wasn't paying attention to anything around her, and smacked right into some guy, causing them both to fall over, with him right on top of her.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" Lily exclaimed, looking up at the boy before gasping.

It was the guy that helped her.

"Ah, it's okay, I should've pa- Hey, weren't you the girl from last time?" He asked, seeming to have remembered her as well.

She nodded and blushed, just looking up at him. "Thanks again for that time..."

"No problem! I didn't even do much." He modestly replied and got up, offering her his hand. She took it gratefully, getting up and looking around. Her friend already left, and for some reason, she was kind of thankful she did.

"Oh! I never got your name last time." He exclaimed, and before she knew it, she started skating with him.

"My name's Lily, what's yours?" She gave him a friendly smile, not seeing any harm in talking to him.

"Baekhyun. So, is that guy you were crying over last time still here?" He said carefully but also in a teasing manner, seeing that she didn't seem too affected by it now.

She looked at him, surprised that he even remembered it from such a long time ago. Then she looked around for Jongin, and froze when she saw him looking back at her. It seemed like he was watching her every move; eyeing her like she was his prey. She wanted to look away, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't.

"Hey, uh, Lily?" Baekhyun said cautiously, seeing that she wasn't paying attention. He followed her eyes and his eyes widened, realizing the situation. The guy that she cried over was Jongin. His own friend, Jongin.

Jongin diverted his attention and looked beside Lily, eyes widening when he saw Baekhyun. Lily then realized that Jongin's attention shifted towards something beside her, so she looked at saw Baekhyun staring back at Jongin, with the same wide-eyed expression. What was going on here?

Shakily, Lily reached out to tap Baekhyun on the shoulder. He snapped out of his trance and looked at her, his glare immediately softening after seeing her scared and confused look.

"Are you...close with him?" She asked.

He nodded slightly and looked back at Jongin, only to face an empty spot. Where'd he go?

"H-he's the guy..."

"I know."

Lily was speechless, but then again, it was obvious since he caught her staring at Jongin, and she just asked about him.

"Get over him. There are plenty of other guys around that are way better. He's not a bad guy at all, but he plays around a lot." Baekhyun stated while looking at her. He didn't want to see her get hurt anymore, not after how she was in the bathroom months ago. It broke his heart, seeing her like that.

Now, she was really speechless, and couldn't help but feel a little ticked off.

"You think I don't want to get over him? I've been trying for the past 7 months! I tried everything and I still couldn't get him out of my head. His face, voice...everything. It stuck with me. I can obviously tell he's a player just by seeing how he skates around with girls." She snapped at him, not being able to control her anger and frustration, even though it wasn't at him.

"Let me be the one to save you."

Her eyes widened, after realizing she snapped and barely took the time to process what he said.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you, you probably think I'm a bi- Wait, w-what?" She finally took in what he said and stared at him, dumbfounded.

"Let me be the one to save you from him. Let me be the one you're always thinking of. Let me be the only one for you. I want it only to be me." He looked at her sincerely, and tried to find his answer in her eyes.

Lily couldn't believe what was happening. Was he confessing to her? And then it all clicked. Him staring at her before. It was because he liked her. Him helping her in the bathroom. It was to tell her that he'd be there for her. Was this fate then, if it even existed? To have run into him, to have seen Jongin, for his battle with Baekhyun, so that he could confess to her?

Baekhyun suddenly felt scared and stupid. It was a dumb time to confess. She wasn't even over Jongin, it's been 7 months of hell for her, for crying out loud. She definitely wouldn't get over him in just one second. Of course he was going to get rejected. It was always him. Him who stood in Jongin's shadow. The second choice. He was getting tired if it. But in the back of his mind, a little part of him was thinking that Lily was worth the wait, the pain, and the position that he was in.

“Convince me.”

“W-what?” His eyes widened. Was she actually giving him a chance to prove himself, instead of rejecting him right away?

“I’m giving you a chance to convince me that you’re better than him.”

He didn’t have to ask another time. This was his chance to finally make her his, and get her away from Jongin.

“Let’s go on a date. Next Saturday, let’s go to the mall, then come back here for skating.”

She nodded and they exchanged numbers before acting as if nothing happened, keeping their deal a secret until they decided whether it would be okay to say their “relationship” out loud.

-------

Saturday finally came. Lily couldn’t contain her excitement the whole week; she couldn’t believe someone confessed that they liked her! She was extra happy the whole week but luckily no one really paid attention to her; she wouldn’t know how to explain to them. Although she felt her best friend’s suspicions rise, her best friend never said anything because they respected that they needed their personal space sometimes.

She headed towards their meeting place: the food court. She didn’t expect it to be this crowded. Although it was lunch time, the weather wasn’t the greatest so she assumed people would stay home. Well, she was wrong. She could barely see over the many people crowding around her, and worried that she would walk right past Baekhyun.

Suddenly, she felt a tug on her arm and was pulled back into someone's chest, hugging her tightly. Before she could act out, she looked up and saw it was Baekhyun. Being so close made her heart flutter, and before she knew it, a blush rose to her cheeks.

"You came, you really came..." He said in awe, still hugging her.

"Yeah, of course, why wouldn't I?" She smiled and it was his turn for his heart to flutter. He never saw anyone more beautiful, and it was his first time acting like this when giving someone a hug. Soon, he was blushing too, and released her after realizing he had been holding on too long, reaching up to scratch his neck nervously.

She smiled at his cuteness. He seemed so normal now. At skating, he seemed like the cool type who only talked to his own friends and acted like a douche (basically), but now he seemed like your average boy, shy and nervous in front of the girl he liked. But of course, he looked way better than average.

"Are you hungry?" He asked her.

She nodded. "I didn't have lunch yet because I was running late..." She said sheepishly.

He laughed a little at her embarrassed face, thinking it was overly cute. "Don't worry, we can have lunch together. I didn't have lunch either, and I was actually hoping you didn't so I could treat you..."

"Nono, it's okay, don't waste your money on me, I'll pay for myself!"

"It's not wasting if I want to."

"But I-"

"No buts. I'm paying and that's final." He smiled innocently at her and walked off, looking for a seat in the busy food court. She stood there in a moment of shock before realizing he left, so she quickly tried to follow him but couldn't see anywhere once again. She was then pulled again and was face-to-face to Baekhyun since he lowered himself a little.

"This is why you should follow me, little girl, you're gonna get lost." He teased Lily's short height.

"Hey! I'm not THAT short, and I'm not a little girl!" She pouted like a little kid and crossed her arms, trying to seem mad at him.

He only laughed and took her hand, pulling her gently with him to find a seat. He didn't want to look at her face any longer; the pout made her lips look very kissable and he almost couldn't resist himself.

She blushed when their hands touched; a tingle went through her body. Was this the kind of connection she had read about in books? It couldn’t happen in reality; it was only fiction, right? Was she dreaming?

"Here's a seat, finally!" Baekhyun bursted out in relief and joy, pulling out her chair naturally. She said thanks and sat down, waiting for him to sit down. But he didn't.

"What do you want to eat?"

dropped open a little. He was serious? Usually when she went out with her friends, they’d say they would treat her, but then she would end up paying for herself, sometimes even for them as well. This was way different than what she expected. Baekhyun chuckled a little, snapping her out of her thoughts and looking back at him, only to see him still waiting.

“U-uhm... I guess I’ll have a Big Mac from McDonalds...” She said sheepishly, not wanting to waste his money.

“I know you’re holding back, probably because you don’t want me to spend a lot of money. But it’s okay. Pick anything you want, I’ll cover for you.” He genuinely smiled at her, and she felt all fuzzy inside. Was this the feeling that people get when they really liked someone?

“Uhm... I guess I’ll have a steak and cheese sub from Subway?” She had been craving it for weeks, and she didn’t hold back this time. But it was still a fair price.

“Alright, stay here and I’ll get it for you.” He reached into his jacket pocket and took out his phone, putting it on the table before taking his jacket off and placing it on the chair. “You can play with my phone, since I see your old phone, and I’m assuming you don’t have any games on it.” Baekhyun teased. “My passcode is 0506. Have fun~” He winked jokingly and turned around, walking briskly towards Subway.

Lily stared at his phone, thinking if she should really take it and play with it. She was touched that he already trusted her with his valuables and even told her his passcode, but she didn’t want to invade his privacy too much. But it was tempting her and she ended up slowly taking it, unlocking it and going straight to his games screen.

Just then, a text message came in, surprising her a little because she was about to play a game. She accidentally pressed the message since she didn’t see it in time for her to take her finger off the screen. She was about to quickly exit the messages app but caught a glance at the name.

Kim Jongin: Hyung, wanna play ball? I need to talk to you about something.

Lily gasped silently and quickly exited it, not wanting to snoop around anymore. But she couldn’t help but be curious. What did Jongin need to talk to Baekhyun about? Before he sent anymore messages, she locked the phone and put it back on the table, face-down so she wouldn’t see anything.

-----

After lunch, the two of them walked around the mall, just enjoying one another’s company. They joked around and got to know each other, and anyone who paid attention to them would think they were either the best of friends or maybe even a couple. Of course they didn’t care; they just wanted to have fun while they could.

Suddenly, Lily remembered something. “Oh! When you were buying lunch, someone texted you… You didn’t get a notification because I was playing a game and I accidentally opened it, I’m sorry...” She babbled.

“It’s okay, don’t worry.” He chuckled and took out his phone, checking the message before making a displeased face and replying back quickly, dropping the phone back into his pocket. He took her hand and looked ahead, seeing a Starbucks and taking her inside the warm cafe.

Lily didn’t want to invade privacy again, so she kept shut. He didn’t look as happy now, so she decided to try and cheer him up.

“Baekhyun, look, there’s heart-shaped cookies!” She pointed to the cookies on display and quickly got in line, taking out her wallet.

“Aigoo, you’re so cheesy. Why can’t you just say you love me instead of giving me those cookies?” He , his mood brightening up immediately due to her cuteness.

She blushed and pouted. “Y-yah! I didn’t say I was giving them to you to substitute for saying I love you!”

He chuckled at her embarrassed face, closing in on her and making her freeze up. “Don’t tempt me.” He said with a serious gaze, and pushed her forward gently, as the line was moving up.

She blushed even more. “T-tempt you? What do you mean?”

“You’re too adorable; your blushing face just makes me want to kiss you and claim you as mine.” He growled lowly before pushing Lily up to the counter and sitting down at a table for two.

“Hi, what can I do for you today?”

Lily’s attention shifted to the cashier, ordering 2 cookies with 2 hot chocolates, one with whipped cream and one with none. She thanked the cashier as he handed over her order and looked around for Baekhyun before spotting him sitting, going over to the table and putting one cookie and the hot chocolate with no whipped cream down in front of him, then sitting down. He turned his attention away from his phone and looked at the treats, eyes widening a little.

“Hey, this is supposed to be a date where the man buys the woman things, not the other way around!” He pouted cutely in protest but still leaned in and sniffed the hot chocolate, its scent bringing a smile to his face.

"You already bought me lunch, so now I want to repay you! It's still not enough... But thank you for the lunch still! Please accept my love~" Lily blushed as she said it, making a heart with her fingers at him shyly just so he would accept the treats she bought him. Baekhyun on the other hand almost couldn't stand it. She was being too cute for him; he really wanted to make her his before anyone could take her away. Like a certain somebody.

He just nodded coolly, trying to contain himself and smiled at her, thanking her before eating the cookie.

"Wow, this is really delicious! Maybe it's because you bought it for me." He winked playfully.

Lily blushed and shook her head, denying it and drank her hot chocolate.

"Stop making things up!" She whined and took a bite of the cookie. "Wow, this really is good!" She was amazed.

"I'm telling you! It's because you bought it!"

"No, it's not!"

The two of them started bickering like an old couple, going back and forth until Lily took a break to take a sip of her hot chocolate. However, after she finished, Baekhyun couldn't take his eyes off of her: she had a cream moustache.

"Helloooooo, earth to Baekhyun! What're you doing?!"

She pouted and it made her even cuter in his eyes. Unconsciously, he started to lean in slowly, mesmerized by her puffy lips. Lily on the other hand, was panicking. She was on the verge of a mental breakdown, not sure if she should pull back or just stay there. It would be her first kiss...

Slowly, Baekhyun got closer and closer, until their noses were almost touching. Suddenly, he pulled back, realizing what he was doing.

"Ah, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that, I... I don't know what came over me." He stuttered, but he did know the real reason. He wanted her.

"U-uh, I-it's alright, don't worry about it~." She smiled a little at him to reassure him. She was actually looking forward to the kiss...

They both finished their cookies and drank their hot chocolates in silence. It wasn't an awkward silence surprisingly, but it felt like they ran out if things to say. As they both finished their drinks at the same time, Baekhyun spoke up.

"What time do you have to get home?"

She looked up at him. "Before dinner I guess, unless you're gonna take me out for that too." She teased.

He chuckled and shook his head. "I'd love to, but I didn't bring enough money for that. Maybe next time. But is it alright if I walked you home?"

Lily's mouth formed a small 'o' shape, not expecting his offer. But she said it's too far, and she didn't want him getting home too late either, as it was getting colder. However, Baekhyun kept insisting her to allow him, and she eventually gave in.

Baekhyun let out a cheer and got up, taking her garbage with his and throwing it in the trash can. Lily got up and put her jacket on, then held out Baekhyun's for his. He smiled as a way of saying thanks and put it on, heading out the door with her.

He took her hand, almost as if it was natural for him to do so, and led her through the huge crowd in the mall until they finally got to the subway station. He then pulled her in front of him so he could keep an eye on her in case anything happened. Lily smiled and blushed a little, getting out her ticket and putting it in the slot, moving to the other side and waiting for Baekhyun.

Once they both got through, they walked to the end of the platform, moving away from the crowd. Lily wasn't paying attention in front of her, looking around aimlessly and cutely, whereas Baekhyun had almost all his attention on her, a little to his surroundings. Just then, he saw a movement in the corner of his eyes and looked up, seeing a guy rushing through the crowd, pushing people out of the way. He quickly grabbed Lily and pulled her to the side, trapping her between the wall and his body so she wouldn't get hit. He didn't notice how close they were until he turned around to face her, freezing up because her face was right there. She was shorter than him, so she was looking up at him with the most innocent look on her face she could possibly pull off, but it wasn't intentional. He was mesmerized by her innocent, beautiful face.

Lily on the other hand, was breathless. She was shocked that he pulled her suddenly, and now even more shocked as she was trapped. Very closely. Their bodies were basically touching; she could feel the heat radiating off his body, and he could probably do the same.

A subway entered the station, but neither of them moved. They kept staring at each other, feeling an evident attraction between them, unable to pull away. Baekhyun slowly started to lean in closer, resting his arm beside her head. Lily watched nervously as he started to close in, and her eyes travelled down his face to his lips. Suddenly, she was really nervous. What if she wasn't a good kisser? It was her first time, and what if she made it horrible? What if he was an experienced kisser? She squeezed her eyes closed, unable to take all these thoughts and suddenly became very self-conscious. Baekhyun, noticing this, pulled away and cupped her cheek gently, looking into her eyes when she opened then again. He circles on her cheek with his thumb, trying to comfort her.

"What's wrong, Lily?"

"Eh? Uhm.... I'm really nervous... I've never dated or kissed anyone before..." She confessed shyly and blushed under his gaze but was unable to look away.

Baekhyun was delighted. He had thought that she was experienced with relationships or had been in at least one before, considering how pretty she was. However, it was even better that he was her first. He felt very special and softened immediately, understanding her feelings.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything you don't want to. Just tell me if I'm moving too fast or anything, okay? I want this to be your best date ever."

-----

Lily and Baekhyun were walking down her street in silence, holding hands and stealing glances at one another. Baekhyun abruptly pulled away and took his backpack off one shoulder, opening it and trying to find something inside. "I forgot to ask you..." He mumbled a little, taking out a small present with a cute, light blue bow on top. He then stood in front of Lily, looking into her eyes nervously and held out the box.

"I know this is your first date, and our first date together. I also know that we haven't officially known each other for longer than a day's span, and only got to know each other better today. But I am positive and absolutely sure I want to always be by your side, whether it be your hard times or good times. I noticed you last year, but couldn't talk to you until now because I didn't have the courage to. From the moment I first saw you until now, you haven't done anything wrong in my eyes; you are perfect. After seeing you cry in the bathroom, I knew I couldn't stand seeing you cry again. Let me be your haven, your sense of security, your happiness. Whenever something is wrong, you can tell me. I'll make you feel better. Whenever I see you, my heart speeds up uncontrollably and I can't stop smiling. And I can't stand having you in the open, available for all the guys that want to take advantage of your personality and beauty; I want to stop that and treat you right. So Lily, will you please be my girlfriend?"

Lily looked at him, stunned and at a loss for words. She couldn't believe what she heard; no one had ever confessed to her that way, and even in books she read or from her friend's relationships, she's never heard a guy speak this way to the girl he likes. It was the sweetest thing she had ever heard, and she teared up, never having thought anyone would say it to her of all people. She nodded and sniffled, tearing up out if happiness and took the box held out to her.

As soon as she nodded, Baekhyun grinned widely and pulled her into a tight embrace, overwhelmed with happiness and not even being able to put his feelings into words. She had accepted him. That was all that mattered.

He motioned for her to open the box and she did, gasping when she saw what was inside. It was a silver heart necklace, glowing in the sunset's light. She smiled and wanted to put it on, so Baekhyun took it from her and went behind her, clasping it on and going in front of her again, admiring it and her.

"It looks beautiful on you..."

She blushed and thanked him, hugging him again tightly before continuing to walk down her street to her house. They chatted and held hands, walking even closer than before, when Baekhyun put his arm around her, pulling her to him and walking. Lily's heartbeat sped up uncontrollably and all she could do was grin.

When they got to her doorstep, she turned to him to thank him. She then realized how close they were and gulped. She wondered if she should give a good-bye kiss of some sort.

Baekhyun gulped and slowly leaned in, seeing if it was alright to. When she nodded, he closed his eyes and felt their lips press together. A burst positive emotions fled through them; joy, relief, happiness, but most importantly, their love for one another.

They slowly pulled back and looked at each other, blushing. Lily still couldn't believe she had a boyfriend and just had her first kiss, but if it was a guy like Baekhyun, she was fine. He treated her the best out of all guys she had met so far, and it was obvious that he genuinely liked her.

Baekhyun suddenly put his arms on her shoulders, looking into her eyes. “You know, I’m really lucky.”

Lily looked back into his eyes, mesmerized. “What do you mean?”

“I’m so lucky to have you.”
