Unfulfilled

Description

Pick me up, make a wish and wait for me to disappear. I will bring you good luck.

Those were the words on the small slip of paper that would sometimes suddenly appear in people's pockets, lockers or maybe even shoes. Some said that by wishing, the person would be blessed by an angel and would get whatever he or she wanted. Then, like it was never there, the slip of paper would disappear into thin air.

This little legend was discovered by the public when they found it in the fist of dying boy, Luhan.

Even as his last moments passed and he was withering away quicker than the doctors had predicted, he seemed to be making wishes. However, the piece of paper never disappeared.

Most people just laughed the case off, thinking that the legend had been nothing but the fragment of some people's imagination. Because, how could a simple piece of paper make wishes come true?

And most importantly, if it could, why did Luhan's remain unfulfilled?

Foreword

"I want them to forget about me..." Thought the frail boy lying on the cold, empty bed. He could feel life leaving him already but he desperately clung to the small slip of paper, not caring about how it was being soaked through by cold sweat gradually.

"Relax, it's going to be alright..." Someone said and he felt a hot hand on his forehead."It's going to be alright, I promise you..."

Empty promises were meant to be broken... But desperately, the boy tried to beleive that they weren't, that he would wake up the next day, healthy and happy.

He closed his eyes for the last time, lips curling into a blissful smile.

He never woke up again.
