Jongin’s heart felt as light as a feather the rest of the day. He went about the shop practically prancing. He felt high, high on life and high on the fact that the gorgeous boy—Kyungsoo—had given him his number. Jongin felt like he could touch the stars if he wanted, and when he got off work he practically flew home; the walk wasn’t quite as tiring and the people’s negative attitude on the bus portion of his trip didn’t get his mood down. He was even more overjoyed when he arrived home to see that Junmyeon had gotten off early. And Junmyeon soon realized this when Jongin came sprinting into their living room shouting, “Hyung! Hyung!” Junmyeon was quite shocked to be honest, but even more so when Jongin practically jumped into his lap bouncing up and down excitedly. He had known the younger for quite a long time, and he had only seen Jongin act with so much enthusiasm when one of his older sisters got married. And that was one time. “What!? What could possibly have gotten you this excited?” Junmyeon inquired, pushing the grinning idiot away from him as he quickly folded the page of his book so he could pick up in the right spot later. “I’ve got good news!” Junmyeon raised an eyebrow, “I can see that, Jongin.” “Do you want to know what it is?” he asked eagerly, biting his lip in excitement. Junmyeon opened his mouth to retort back with some sarcasm but Jongin’s impatience beat him to it. “I got someone’s number today.” And as soon as the words fell out of his mouth, Jongin squealed girlishly, falling back against the cushions as he wriggled around in happiness. Junmyeon took a moment to register what had just been said, but when he realized that his shy little Jongin had somehow gotten up the courage to ask for another person’s number, he felt himself grinning just as much as the other idiot. “Are you serious? Kim Jongin you better not be lying to me right now.” “I’m not! Look,” Jongin pulled the folded piece of paper out of his pocket, the numbers still clearly written in bright green ink. Junmyeon snatched the paper from him, holding it close to his glasses as if to make sure it wasn’t fake and that there weren’t any missing digits. When he determined it was legit he handed it back, his grin just as stupid as Jongin’s, “What’s their name?” Jongin bit his lip shyly before mumbling, “Kyungsoo.” “What?” Junmyeon demanded, pretending not to hear as he leaned closer to the boys red face. “Kyungsoo.” “Huh?” “Kyungsoo!” he yelled, pushing the laughing Junmyeon over before standing up and stalking off in embarrassment towards the kitchen. Junmyeon followed right behind him, taking a seat at the table as he watched his friend pull out a pack of instant ramen and place a pot of water on the stove. “So…” Junmyeon said, a teasing look in his eye. “Was he cute?” “More than cute, he was gorgeous Junmyeon. I wish I could have just reached over the counter and kissed him—no more than that—I wanted to throw him on to the counter and—why are you giving me that face?” Junmyeon tried not laugh as Jongin gave him his innocent puppy eyes. “You wanted to throw him on the counter and do what, hmm?” The amusement was evident in Junmyeon’s voice, and Jongin then realized that voicing his fantasizes was a bad idea. “N-never mind. Forget I said anything.” “You think I’m going to forget this? This is an achievement, you finally asked for someone’s number in—twenty-five years? That’s still a little sad don’t you think?” “No wait—I didn’t ask for his number. He just gave it to me.” “Oh.” Junmyeon’s disappointment was obvious. “So you’re still the awkward kid you were yesterday huh?” Jongin nodded, feeling as if he had caused Junmyeon a great distress, “I must not have been too awkward. I mean, he asked for my number didn’t he?” Junmyeon’s doubts were still getting the better of him as he watched Jongin dish out his food, “What did you say his name was?” “Kyungsoo.” Junmyeon’s eyebrows furrowed as he tried to recall why that name seemed familiar. “Kyungsoo…Kyungsoo…Oh!” It all clicked. “Naeun told me they were going to hire a band to perform at the shop when I stopped in yesterday.” “…So?” “So, she may or may not have mentioned that the singers name was Kyungsoo.” “Uh—” “You may be seeing your Kyungsoo friend sooner than expected~” Junmyeon sang, giggling like a child as Jongin’s eyes widened in horror. “Which means,” Junmyeon continued, lowering his voice. “If you don’t call him back you’ll have to answer to h
