"What?" he uttered.

"I want to break up" you stated simply.

Chanyeol looked stunned. It was as if the thought of you breaking up with him had never occurred to him. Just as it did to you. You never thought you'd be in this position breaking up with him either.

"But why?"

You stayed silent, your eyes beginning to water. Apparently breaking up with him wouldn't be as easy as you thought.

"Why?" he asked again, more firm this time.

When you saw that he was making a move to approach you, you quickly said "I'll come back to pick up my stuff tomorrow" avoiding his question while turning away from him to leave his apartment.

"Ha-jin, wait!" Chanyeol quickly ran to your side grabbing your wrist, preventing you from leaving.

You stood there, clueless at what to do. You felt the first tear escaping your eye.

Letting it fall, aware that Chanyeol had seen it, you finally said, "Let go" mentally scolding yourself for letting your voice crack.

"No" he plainly said.

"I said let go, Chanyeol! I'm breaking up with you! Just let go!" you cried out, attempting to release his grip on your wrist. It was no use though, he was stronger than you.

"No!" he angrily shouted. The loudness of his voice scared you, though you could see he was on the verge of crying as well.

Finally fed up with the way he was acting, you couldn't help but scream, "Why?! Why can't you just let me go? I want to break up with you! I'm done!"

At this point, you were out of breath, tears were uncontrollably leaving your eyes. Chanyeol remained quiet. The only noise that could be heard was the sound of your heavy breathing.

"I'm done..." you repeated, "We're done"

You felt Chanyeol's grip loosen and took it as him finally letting you go.

You turned away, making the final attempt to leave when he suddenly pulled you into a hug, your face instantly meeting with his chest, his head resting upon yours.

"Ha-jin..." his voice cracking while saying your name. You could tell he was crying.

"I can't let you leave... Not like this. Not without a reason. Please at least... at least give me a reason."
