One SHOT in A Lifetime
Description
There are those times when an event in our life happens that changes our perspective and our out looks. There are those times when that certain happening would leave a great impact on us; which may lead us to the good or bad. There are also those times wherein a decision must be quickly made in order to save a life, a love, or a dream. These times will come to us once in a lifetime; no second chances, no repetitions, no way to correct anything. If we’d let this chance given to us slip away, we’d regret it forever. We’d think about how things could be, or how things might have been if we only had the courage and strength at that very moment.
This is a collection of one-shot fictions focusing on life and love. Some may sound cliché, some may look so original. Some may be good and some are not. All in all, these fictions are based on me; my past experiences, my beliefs, my dreams and hopes. I used to write for nothing in particular, but now, I want to write to share the lessons I’ve learned in the nineteen years of my existence. Although the stories carry the same message over and over again, I’d still stress it out all the time.
Nothing lasts forever, so live with what you have now; love everyone around you; and do what you can today. Time is a golden gift that has an expiration date; don’t waste it on hatred and regret. Live and laugh like there’s no tomorrow and, still, do the same when you wake up the next day. We’ll never know what’ll happen next, so better live to the fullest. Don’t ever pity yourself, no one’s a loser; we’re just stray souls searching for our very purpose in the world.
This is what I believe in; this is what I want to portray. Although this message is latent most of the time, I hope you’d still learn from it.

*I’ll Choose You Over Me*
I watch her fall on the open gap on the ground, together with everything around us. Shock is displayed on her face as she realized what’s happening. She stretched out her hands, searching for something to hold on to. Her eyes are wide open, staring right through me, while I stood there, dumbfounded.

*UNDERstatement*
“I always wonder why you put out with me up until now. I can’t understand how you do it for the past year that we’re together and for the earlier two years that you courted me. I want to know why you’re trying to go through all of this given that I have always been hard on you.” She explained.
“Because I love you this much. I love you more each day that I can’t keep it all to myself. I want to tell you every second of every day how I feel for you. I feel like I’m going to explode because of my love for you…”

*Never Alone*
I stumbled and fell on the ground. I struggled to stand up on my own, but my limbs are aching, so I remained there on the floor. I heard someone shout but I can’t make out the words they’re saying. Someone laughed and it made me want to bury my face more. I want to disappear out of thin air because of shame. I want to get out of here as fast as I can; even if that means I have to crawl on all fours. Feeling so helpless and alone, tears started falling down my face.
Then three pair of hands showed up in front of me, offering some help I never really deserved.

*Moving On*
“You’re a prisoner of your memories with him. You caged yourself with the thought that he’ll come back. You built walls around you so that no one could ever break through, but him. Come out of that cage and free yourself.” He pleaded.
I stared at the man beside me and sighed, finally deciding to let go of that thing and of him. I don’t want this. I don’t want to wait forever for him. I have a life too and I have to live it to the fullest like I did before ‘us’ existed. I should move on and leave the past behind; our past behind.
