He was woken up by a single dewdrop that landed on his forehead. A loud sigh escaped his lips as he felt the cold waterdrop run down his forehead and he brought up a hand to wipe it away in a smooth movement. He was too tired to open his eyes but even though his mind was still clouded with tiredness, he could feel a few thoughts seeping into it. He hadn’t gone to sleep somewhere outside, or at least he couldn’t remember doing so. He kept searching desperately through his mind, trying to bring back memories from last night but he couldn’t find anything. What happened? Did I get kidnapped? He snapped at that thought and all the tiredness fell off him, causing him to rip his eyes open. His body shot up and he found himself standing on his feet a second later. Carefully, he lifted his arms so he’d be able to protect himself from danger while his eyes wandered around. A million thoughts crossed his mind as he absorbed every single detail of his surrounding, trying to figure out where he was. He couldn’t help but to realise after a long moment that he had never been to this place before and that he had no idea where he was. He had woken up on a small, circular glade that was restricted by huge plants that he had never seen before. He shifted his gaze down to take a look at the grass-covered ground he had been sleeping on. His head had been lying under a green plant with large leaves and tendrils that entwined themselves around the trunk of a tree. The surface of every leaf was slightly curved and a small amount of water had started to gather on a few leaves. So that’s where the dew came from. With a sigh on his lips, he walked over the glade and inspected the plants on the other side. He soon got the impression that the place was quiet and peaceful, but also deserted. He couldn’t spot a single animal, no matter where he looked. When he lifted his hands up further, he couldn’t detect any hints of wind. It seemed as if the nature had taken a deep breath but then had kept holding it in. Everything seemed immobile. It was scaring him. It was triggering an emotion deep inside of him that he couldn't name. He had never felt it before, but it was sending shivers down his spine. Since it wa
