As you entered you room the next day, the tension you felt as you walked towards your seat was the same during your first day of class. You looked at D.O and he gave you a smile. Then your eyes averted to an empty seat, Kai was absent.

Suddenly Ms. Kang entered the room and announced that your field trip will be next next week so she distributed the waiver forms to all of you. All were excited for the trip.

It was lunchtime and so you decided to ate alone. After what happened yesterday, you thought that it might be good to stay away from them. But actually deep inside, you really miss them. It has been a month that you were avoiding to eat with them since you are avoiding Chanyeol but now you have to isolate again yourself because of the tension yesterday.

Meanwhile, Chanyeol and Baekhyun were having lunch together. They both spotted you eating alone but Chanyeol immediately returned his focus on eating his food. Baekhyun couldn't withstand seeing you like that.

"Ya! Chanyeol!" Baekhyun exclaimed.

Chanyeol looked at him. "What?"

"Until when are you gonna avoid her?" Baekhyun asked.

"I actually don't know. The pain is still here." He replied as he pointed his finger to his chest, referring to his heart.

Baekhyun hissed. "Yeah I know. But right now, I can see that all she needs right now is her best friend. She needs you." Baekhyun replied.

"After what happened, I don't think we are best friends anymore." Chanyeol said.

Baekhyun rubbed his temples. He was actually thinking that Chanyeol was just being prideful and it was annoying him. He sighed.

"But you can be best friends again! Oh c'mon Park Chanyeol, yes you have feelings for her but it doesn't change the fact that from the very start you are her best friend. After what happened yesterday, I know she was deeply hurt. Don't you miss her?" Baekhyun asked.

"Baek, if you only know how I miss her so much. How I wanted to be with her, to comfort her and hug her tight. I miss her so badly. I miss Minnie. But how can I do that? She rejected me?" Chanyeol responded.

Bakhyun held firmly Chanyeol's shoulder. "She only rejected your feelings for her but she never rejected you as a person, your totality. And she never rejected your friendship. I am telling you this for the very last time, all she needs right now is her best friend. Arraso?" Baekhyun said.

But Chanyeol did not reply.

"Fine! Then I guess, she needs to find a new one." Baekhyun said as he stood and brought his lunch with him and went to your table.

Chanyeol was there left alone as he watched Baekhyun.

You were shocked when Baekhyun sat beside you. You looked at him.

"Hey Min Na-ah! The way you look at me right now, it appears like you had seen a ghost." He said as he pouted.

"You are not mad at me?" You inquired.

He ruffled your hair. "Of course not. Why should I be mad at you? Besides I miss you." Baekhyun said.

You smiled. You were glad to know that you still have Baekhyun and he's not mad.

"I miss you too Baekhyun-ah." You replied.

Then both of you exchanged smiles and continued eating while talking with each other.

Baekhyun glance from the table where Chanyeol was, but he was already gone.

"Okay class, since we are discussing about Japanese literature. I want all of you to composed a haiku. Who can tell me what a haiku is?" Ms. Kang asked in class.

Chen raised his hand.

"Okay Mr. Kim Jong Dae, please explain to them." Ms. Kang instructed.

Chen nodded as he stood.

"Haiku is a Japanese poem of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of five, seven and five syllables." He explained then he sat down.

"Mr. Jong Dae is right. So I have said earlier, I want all of you to composed a haiku but I want at least a minimum of 3 stanzas. Don't worry, this will be done in pairs." Ms. Kang said and the class felt relief.

"But pairings will be done according to who is your seatmate. For example, Mr. Park will be paired with Ms. Han, Mr. Yixing and Mr. Min Seok and so on. Arraso?" She instructed.

"And one more thing, I want all of you to go out of the room and looked around the campus for an inspiration for your haiku. It could be about the trees, the clouds or the sun. Anything that surrounds you. After you are done with your work, please do see me at the faculty room and passed your work. Then you may go home. Did I make myself clear?" Ms. Kang added.

"Ne!" The whole class said.

After that Ms. Kang left the room while your classmates started to go out in pairs.

You were still standing and you don't know how to approach Chanyeol.

"Are you okay now? Can we go out?" Chanyeol asked. You were surprised that he was the first one who spoke but he was trying to avoid not to look at you.

You nodded. Then both of you head out of the classroom. You were both walking side by side but you were not talking to each other until you reached the school quadrangle.

Chanyeol halted and so you did the same.

"Where do you want to go?" Chanyeol asked.

There was only one place you would love to go and that was the soccer field. You thought that being there would give you a full view of the skies and the whole campus.

"Is it okay if we go to the soccer field?" You inquired.

Chanyeol just nodded.

As both of you reached the soccer field, you both settled at the bleachers. Good thing it was a cloudy day so it was not that hot. There were some students who were at the field playing soccer but they looked like they were not part of the soccer team. You thought they were playing for fun.

Chanyeol couldn't help but steal glances at you. Then you looked at him but he immediately averted his gaze at the field.

"So how we will do our haiku? Do you have an idea?" You asked.

"Aah. Do you like if we do our own poem then after wards we'll just pick among our work which would be best and pass it to Ms. Kang?" Chanyeol suggested.

"Are you sure about that?" You assured.

"Yeah. So let's start?" He said.

"Okay." You said and there was a sadness at the tone of your voice. He really didn't want to work with you.

Then both of you just focus with your pen and paper, looking around for a good subject for your haiku.

The joy of the students while playing soccer caught your eyes so you thought that it would be a nice subject for your poem. You started composing at your paper.

Chanyeol on the other hand was still having a hard time. He couldn't focus with you next to him. He felt like he was not in a good mood to compose a poem. Then he shifted his eyes on you, he was amazed on how you were able to concentrate well. He smiled as he saw you whispering as you count the syllables on your fingers.

Looking at you now made him recall what Baekhyun told him.

"She only rejected your feelings for her but she never rejected you as a person, your totality. And she never rejected your friendship."

Then he returned his eyes on his paper and started to compose a poem. He now had a good subject for his haiku.

"Are you already done?" You asked Chanyeol.

An hour had already passed and you were done with your poem.

"Ah yes. But I think my work was non-sense." He replied as he was trying to hide his paper at his back.

"Huh? I guess not. Let me take a look." You said.

"Anio. Let's just pass your work instead." Chanyeol insisted.

Your were puzzled with his bizarre behavior plus it made you feel annoyed. It was so unfair of him.

"Fine. Let's go the faculty room so we could go home." You replied.

Then you went ahead of him. Chanyeol just followed from behind.

You both passed your work to Ms. Kang. After that, you and Chanyeol parted ways. Neither both of you even bothered to say goodbye.

You were on your way to the school gate to wait for ahjussi when someone caught your wrist.

You turned your back.

"Can we talk?" Chanyeol asked in his deep tone voice and his face was serious.

"S-sure." You replied.

You followed him as he led you to sat at one of the benches at the covered walk.

You both settled down. There was a minute of awkward silence.

Chanyeol got something from his pocket and handed it to you.

It was a paper folded. You thought if this was a letter. You slowly unfolded it and you were surprised -- it was a poem. You carefully read it with your eyes.

I have a best friend
And her name is Han Min Na
I call her Minnie

But I fell for her
I could not stop my feelings
I said 'I love you'

She doesn't love me
Because I am her best friend
And I am so hurt

So I stay away
Seeing her, being with her
It was just painful

But I did not know
I am also hurting her
I was so stupid

So I have one wish
I hope that she forgives me
And be friends again

You felt like you were about to cry on what you had just read. You looked at him and he also did the same. You couldn't help it anymore. You threw your arms around him and hugged him tight. You began to cry.

"I'm so sorry. I realize how incomplete I am without you. Let us forget on what happened on Myeondong and move on. I miss you. I miss my best friend. I miss you Minnie." Chanyeol said as he was also crying.

"I miss you too Channie. I'm also sorry for hurting you. But I don't want to lose you, you are part of my life. You are my best friend. No one can ever replace you." You whispered.

He pulled away and cupped your face as he wiped the tears from your eyes.

You both smiled.

"I guessed I know what payback do I want Minnie. Do you still remember that you owe me something?" He asked.

"Yes I know. What is it?" You answered still your face held in between his hands.

"Please accept me again, to be your best friend." He said.

"Of course I accept you. As what I have said, no one can replace you. You are my one and only Vitamin C, my Vitamin Channie." You replied.

He smiled.

"Best friends is still the best. No cool offs, no break ups. Right?" He said.

"Yes." You answered.

Then Chanyeol placed his head on your shoulders.

"Did you like my haiku?" He asked.

"I do. So this was the reason why you did not like to show it too me.You were unfair though." You replied.

"I know. I'm so sorry Minnie. But I do trust your writing skills, I hope we had a high mark." He said a he laughed.

You slightly poked his chest. "Pabo!"

He raised his head and looked at you. "Don't worry I'll make it up for you. Wanna have some ice cream?" He offered.

You smiled. He knew you very well. He even knew what simple things that can make you happy. Why should you even doubt? After all, he was your best friend.

"Sure!" You happily exclaimed.

He stood as he offered his hand to help you get up.

You walked side by side holding each others hand.

And you were so happy to have your best friend back.
