ENGLISH PLEASE!!!

I will be more appreciating if you leave comment in English because I want us to respect other member from other country who read this story too. And if you want to talk in ‘bahasa’ or ‘melayu’, you can visit my wall and talk to me, but please, not here.

There’s a reason why I write in English. I want to learn English here and I hope you can help me to improve by giving me feedback in English too. In this condition, maybe I can start to learn new word from you and lessen my limited vocabulary.

If you say that you can’t speak or write in English or you have limited vocabulary like me, you can use translate.google.com. Until now I still use it when I didn’t find the word. Don't be ashame or make an excuse when you learn.

“You don’t have any question first?”

Sooyoung face palm when Tiffany asks that question after long pauses. When she thought finally she knows the truth, this mushroom girl doesn’t make it easy. Somehow she knows this might happen since Tiffany is a teasing queen, but in this kind of situation she hardly wishes Tiffany won’t do that. But now she knows; a wish is just a wish.

“I’m waiting for you to explain, you can’t see that?” Sooyoung asks back in irritating tone.

Tiffany chuckles. “I know… you look so tense hehe :D. You look like a reader who really want to jump to the next chapter because you so curious about what might happen next.”

“But in my case, I can’t jump to the next level expect you explain,” Sooyoung says. “So spill it out.”

“But… I want to hear your perspective first. I want to hear what you think now,” Tiffany continues. “There must be a reason why you think Yuri is Jessica’s past, right?”

(A/N : At this point, I start to believe that my reader will scream at me like this, “C’mon, Author!!! Say it!!” but since Sooyoung so nice, let’s just continue the flow, shall we? *smirk*)

Sooyoung sighs and nods, admitting.

“It’s simple,” Sooyoung mutters. “It’s from the look at Jessica’s face when she saw Yuri and also many things that happened these past few days.”

“Many things? Such as?”

“Two days ago, I ran out idea for breakfast that I should prepare for Jessica, that’s why I asked Yuri for suggestion. But… Jessica didn’t eat that food and left the plate untouchable,” Sooyoung explains. “Maybe there’s a story behind it, but I didn’t dare to ask her because Jessica seems doesn’t want to talk about it.”

 Tiffany nods. “What food?”

“Burrito,” Sooyoung answers. Tiffany flinches a bit.

“You know the story behind it, right?” she continues, looking at the mushroom girl reaction.

Tiffany nods. “But go on first. You said many things, right?”

Sooyoung sighs because Tiffany still postponing her explanation. “When I was practicing my performance while cooking lunch few days ago, I found Jessica leaning on that wall. She was daydreaming but she also looked so sad. I knew that Yuri likes to sing while cooking maybe…”

“Maybe in the past, when she cooked for Jessica, she also sang a song?” Tiffany cuts Sooyoung.

Sooyoung only nods.

“You were right when you said someone sang while cooking for Jessica, but it wasn’t Yuri,” Tiffany says. “And the broken heart Jessica has no connection with relationship status. I mean relationship as couple relationship.”

Sooyoung frowns to hear it.

“There also a reason why I want you to read Desperately In Love with You first. Basically the story is the same but not really same with that,” Tiffany continues. “Have you read that?”

Sooyoung shakes her head. “I haven’t found it but right now, I’m ordering it.”

Tiffany nods. She can see how serious Sooyoung is to find out about Jessica’s past life.

“The main story is about someone who helps the one that she loves to get other people’s heart,” Tiffany says. “In that book, the story is about present lover helps her lover to get her past lover.”

Sooyoung frowns more.

Tiffany scratches her head that’s not itchy. She finds hard to describe this to Sooyoung if she hasn’t read the book.

“Okay, let’s pretend that we’re ex lover and Jessica is your present lover,” Tiffany orders. Sooyoung nods. “In that story, you found out that Jessica is the cause why you break up with me. That’s why you asked her to help you to win my heart back although Jessica still loves you. In the story, I already have someone else in my life.”

“Why?”

Tiffany blinks with the sudden question. “Eh?”

“Why I must do that?” Sooyoung asks. “Why I can’t just move on and enjoy my life with my present lover? It’s like walking backward, right?”

Tiffany frowns. She just realizes this Sooyoung has no experience of love life. That’s why when it comes to explain, it also mean that she really need to explain it all.

“Maybe because you still have feeling for me or maybe because you have anger because you feel betrayal from her,” Tiffany says. “But in Jessica’s case, it’s the second option.”

“Betrayal?”

Tiffany nods. “In her case, Jessica is the one who helps you to get me back. But Jessica isn’t your present lover, but your sister.”

Sooyoung is stunning to hear it.

“Jessica helps her sister, Krystal, that’s her name, to win someone’s heart,” Tiffany says. “Everything seems normal until the one that Krystal loved has a crush on Jessica. She was Jessica close friend in college. And when Krystal figured it out, she thought Jessica was betraying her.”

“But you should trust your sister, right? There is same blood runs in her body like you,” Sooyoung says. “And she’s your family, someone who will stay with you when everyone turns their back at you.”

Tiffany is somehow speechless. Now she kind of understands why Soojin so over protective to Sooyoung because maybe… Sooyoung will do the same if she is standing in Soojin’s shoes. No matter how far they are from each other, they will still protecting each other.

“The easy way to say is love is blind,” Tiffany answers. "And Krystal is so young that time. Doesn't mean that she never uses her brain, but her emotions always win."

Sooyoung nods. Somehow she gets it.

“Like in the book, the tragedy also happened in real,” Tiffany continues. “In the story, the present lover suicide when she done with her job, helping her lover to win her past lover’s heart.”

Sooyoung freezes. She glances at Tiffany and Jessica’s room alternately.

“No, it’s not Jessica, but Krystal,” Tiffany disputes.

Sooyoung only nods.

“Short story, Krystal found out about her crush's feeling to her sister and she thought her sister also had the same feeling because they were getting closer. She was mad at Jessica because she thought Jessica flirt with that person behind her although she knew about Krystal’s feeling since she asked her help, but of course… that’s not the case,” Tiffany takes a deep breath. “Actually Jessica tried to get closer to that person because she wanted to find out how to make that person love her sister back. But that person didn’t get what Jessica was trying to do and thought that in different way, she thought Jessica had same feeling with her.”

“Misunderstanding?”

“Exactly!” Tiffany flicks her fingers.

“But what you mean by betrayal?” Sooyoung asks. “And by the way, why somehow I feel like you misleading me with that book?”

“What you mean by mislead?”

“Yeah… you trapped me with that book. I will thought that Jessica is the present lover or past lover and it’s really love triangle, you know,” Sooyoung says. “I won’t think it will be sister lover plus outsider.”

“But the main story is the same. Someone helps other people to win other people’s heart,” Tiffany argues. “Urggghh… Why suddenly I have headache?”

“I should be the one who said that!” Sooyoung complains.

“Can I just continue this or you want to argue?” Tiffany asks.

Sooyoung looks at Tiffany with long face.

“Okay, I know, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that. I just want you to read the main idea of the story, not practically apply the whole story to Jessica’s past life,” Tiffany adds. (A/N : Mianhe, readers... T_T)

Sooyoung sighs heavily. She knows it will be hard to have a deal with this woman. That’s why she has no choice but to say, “Okay. Move on.”

Tiffany smiles a bit. “Although Krystal felt really mad at her sister, eventually she tried her best to be happy for both of them because they were important for her. One is her sister and the other one is her crush. See? She isn’t that bad as sister for Jessica, right?”

“Okay, I know. I shouldn’t jump to conclusion before you finished,” Sooyoung apologized. Tiffany grins with that.

“But heartbroken is hard to handle, at least for Krystal,” Tiffany suddenly looks gloomy. “She committed suicide after she congratulated her sister when she thought they would be together.”

“How comes?” Sooyoung asks. “Jessica won’t betray her, right?”

Tiffany nods. “It’s just another misunderstanding. The other person told Krystal that she will be happy if she has a sister like her, that’s why she asked Krystal to help her to find a way to confess to Jessica.”

Sooyoung jaw dropped. She isn’t expecting that to happen.

“At the time she thought that person confess to Jessica and her sister would accept her, Krystal locked herself in that room and cut her wrist,” Tiffany sighs sadly while looking at Jessica’s room, the forbidden room for Sooyoung to enter.

“How did she know?” Sooyoung asks. “About what happened to her sister, I mean. Was Jessica find Krystal in that condition or ...?”

“Krystal sent text message,” Tiffany answers. “She said, ‘Unnie, I hope you always happy. I love you’.”

Stab!

Sooyoung feels a pain in her chest. Although she wasn’t the one who through that but she can understand the feeling. If only she and her sister in that position, she doesn’t really know what to do.

“Jessica had a hunch something might happen to Krystal. She immediately went back here to find Krystal. That’s why she knew what happened,” Tiffany speaks. “Do you know why no one can enter that room?”

Sooyoung shakes her head.

“Actually it’s not only you, but me also. But different with you, I always break the rules. Jessica always mad at me but I don’t give a damn,” Tiffany confesses. “And the reason why Jessica sleeps in that room is… because she wants to keep the room like how it is when Krystal left her. It’s her reminder for that tragedy.”

Sooyoung sighs sadly.

“Krystal wasn’t dead if that what you were thinking,” Tiffany interrupts. “She just… move out. She lives in San Francisco with their parents now.”

Unconsciously Sooyoung sighs in relief.

“But the scar… stays here…” Tiffany mumbles while staring at Jessica’s door.

Sooyoung nods.

“And about the burrito,” Tiffany looks at Sooyoung. “It’s Krystal favorite food.”

Sooyoung is speechless and feels guilty at the same time. She feels like she just poured salt in Jessica’s wound without she knows it.

“You don’t know so you don’t have to feel guilty,” Tiffany Sooyoung’s arm. “She knows that you don’t mean to hurt her or open her wound again.”

Sooyoung nods lifelessly. “Where is that person now?”

“Have I mentioned why Jessica doesn’t like betrayal?” Tiffany asks. Sooyoung shakes her head. “The reason is that person walked away when Krystal lied in the hospital after that incident. She had an offer to study something in Paris but I don’t know for sure.”

“So… she disappeared?” Tiffany nods.

“How did you know the whole story?” Sooyoung asks.

“I was helping Jessica to carry Krystal from that room to the hospital,” Tiffany says. “Jessica called me that day. And in hospital, she told me everything.”

Sooyoung understandingly nods.

“At this moment, you must be thinking to put the blame on that person, right?” Tiffany asks. Sooyoung hesitantly nods. “But I can’t do the same. I knew that she had hard position too. She just found out about Krystal’s feeling at the hospital. She felt guilty after she knew it. She thought maybe because what she said to Krystal, she did that. Maybe she was afraid, that's why she walked away. And if I were here, maybe I would do the same. Also that time, they were young and controlled by their emotions. And everything happened so fast for them to digest it with clear mind.”

“But….”

“But?” Tiffany repeats.

“Why Jessica seems so shocked to see Yuri?”

“Hmm… I just realized it tonight but Yuri and Krystal kind of looks alike,” Tiffany says. “They have long black hair and Krystal also likes to play guitar. In one glance, they seem like twins.”

“But… it doesn’t make sense,” Sooyoung abruptly says.

“For you, but not for her,” Tiffany says. “Like I said, the scar is remaining here. The day when Krystal left this country, she hasn’t completely healed. Their parents took her away from Jessica. Until now, they haven’t contact each other.”

“And her defense was destroyed when she saw Yuri? She thought she saw Krystal? But why she ran away?” Sooyoung asked.

Tiffany shrugs. “Maybe she was afraid or guilt or… I don’t know. Although I know the whole story, I don’t understand what she feels. She just told me about the whole story not what she feels. And I also don’t know her reason why she hates love.”

“I think maybe because she mad at love. Because of love, she lost sister and friend,” Sooyoung glances at the door. “She mad because love betrayed her. Something that should make people happy, make her hurt. You’re the one who said, ‘someone who heartless once cared too much’, right?”

Tiffany nods in agreement. Slowly she releases a sigh. “That’s why I want you to stay here. Accompany her.”

“Why me?”

“You have a dream. You have a faith on your dream. You never give up,” Tiffany explains. “That’s the main reason.”

“And…?”

Tiffany is staring at the door again. “That door is Jessica’s heart. I hope you can get in.”

“But you remember I only have two weeks remaining, right?”

Tiffany smile sadly. “I know.”

Both of them fall silent. Maybe they are immersed in their own thoughts or maybe they try to make sense of their earlier conversation. But clearly, this silence feels heavy for them.

“I think I need to go home,” Tiffany suddenly stands up. “And you need to rest too. I don’t want you to catch a cold.”

She places her hand on Sooyoung’s forehead.

“See? Your body heat slightly. You should drink water and vitamin before go to sleep,” Tiffany continues. “Take care of yourself, ara?”

Sooyoung holds Tiffany’s hand. “Can you stay?”

“Alright.” Tiffany has no choice but agree when she sees Sooyoung’s pleading eyes.

Tiffany knows this shikshin is helpless when it comes to handle Jessica. Because even though Sooyoung is really cares about Jessica, Jessica always push her away since she tried to keep her heart closed. That’s why Tiffany’s presence is needed, at least for now.

“Go sleep now. I will sleep with her. That’s what you want, right?” Tiffany says. “And don’t worry. I’ll watch over her.”

Sooyoung suddenly hugs her tightly. “Thank you, Tiff.”

“Ara, ara,” Tiffany pats Sooyoung’s back. “Go back to your room, arasso?”

Spiritless Tiffany walks to Jessica’s room. Although she already told Sooyoung about everything, but she still can’t feel relieved. Until her best friend can smile from the heart again, she knows… she still keeps this burden feeling inside. Tiffany only can shake her head to stop herself from thinking about it.

Carefully Tiffany lay down beside Jessica but she actually knows the girl isn’t sleeping. While staring at the ceiling, she starts talking.

“Jessie, I know you’re awake. Maybe you woke up when Sooyoung moved you to the bed,” Tiffany utters. “Maybe you’re missing her warmth. Or maybe you just have a nightmare. Any of it, I don’t know. It’s you who have the answer.”

Jessica doesn’t move even a bit. She doesn’t argue or agree with what Tiffany just said. She is only listening. Maybe…

“But Jessie… if I can ask you a favor, please don’t kick her out,” Tiffany continues. “Please don’t kick her out because she cares about you…”

For the nth times Tiffany release a heavy sigh.

“If you want to get angry, you can vent to me. But please don’t mad at her just because she really cares about you,” she adds. “Because I know… Whether you want to admit it or not, but you need her. You need her presence in your life and you know it’s not only about food.”

Tiffany is silent for a moment. She gives time for Jessica to digest her words.

“You know… I’m really happy when I saw you in the park that day. Although you said you were there for doing research about your new novel, but I’m happy. I actually don’t really care with your reason.”

Tiffany suddenly giggles.

“Actually I tease you a lot because I thought finally I found Jessica that I used to know,” she smiles sadly. “But I keep hoping that I will meet her someday. And I want to believe this isn’t false hope. I just want you to be happy, Jessie.”

“Arrrgghhhh~! I’m so tired~!!!" Tiffany stretches her body. "Good night, Jessie. Sweet dream.”

Ten minutes later, Jessica opens her eyes, staring at the ceiling. Sometimes she glances at the eye-smile girl who sleeps soundlessly next to her.

“If only… if only it’s easy, Tiff…”

Tears start falling again from Jessica’s eyes. Jessica tightens her eyes to stop it. With heavy load on her chest, Jessica tries to go back to sleep.
