Aviators

Description

To be drawn into a world hidden behind the tints of a simple every-day object isn't something that happens, well..every day.

"Through the looking glass, reflect this life in another world, on the reversed arms of the clock."

Foreword

I couldn't completely move away from Exo but I'm journeying slowly. Please do enjoy this fic. It includes members of BAP; Exo; SuperJunior; BlockB and Big Bang. A weird combination but it's likely to work.

"What's gotten into you?" Chanyeol twisted and turned every which way, trying to keep up with Seunghyun's erratic movements about their shared apartment. The older roommate seemed to be putting the finishing touches to the already immaculately cleaned apartment. It was a miracle, really, that the place could have been returned to a civil state in less than twenty four hours considering how bad they treated the place on a good day.

"I'm preparing," came the breathy response left on the air as Seunghyun brushed past him for the umpteenth time, voice tapering behind him as he disappeared around a corner with something bulky in his grip.

Chanyeol's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, nearly tipping himself over when the other man rushed back in and immediately squatting before him, patting the younger man's leg impatiently; he wanted Chanyeol out of the way.

Heaving an exasperated sigh, Chanyeol sat on one of the three stools near the small bar and sat there, hoping he was completely out of the other man's way. Although impulsive, Seunghyun was usually laid back and suave even if excited. Chanyeol was almost afraid of what was in store.

"What for?" Chanyeol hedged, hastily raising his legs as a rogue mop fast approached his area.

"The Solar Eclipse is today," Seunghyun chiped, almost dancing around the mop.

"While that is cool, I don't see what the hype's about."

Seunghyun merely grinned and it turned into a sly smirk. "Oh, you'll see. Now, go shower." Chanyeol flailed as he was unceremoniously pulled off his seat and shoved toward the hallway. "You're in my way and I can't have a clean apartment and a dirty roommate."

", you're just as dirty," the curly haired man called over his shoulder, but ambled down the hallway as told.

It was mid afternoon when both of them went to the park. At least, Seunghyun went with a stumbling Chanyeol's wrist caught in his iron grip. The older man raced them to the top of the hill under the Lignum Vitae tree that stood alone at its peak. Seunghyun all but threw Chanyeol into the trunk of the tree, hurrying to spread the blue sheet on the grass. Their picnic blanket was soiled in oil and grease by mistake while the older man was working on his car.

He sat down, tugging his disgruntled roommate to sit with him, all but pulling Chanyeol into his arms. He nudged the younger one, craning his neck to peer into Chanyeol's face.

"You remember the words, right?"

Chanyeol sighed explosively, a string of annoyed profanities riding on that one breath. "For the hundredth time, damn it, yes I remember!"

Unfazed, Seunghyun grinned excitedly and sat, thrumming, and rocking side to side. Chanyeol eyed the twenty five year old warily, not resisting the urge to move a little fiurther away from him.

"Why'd you make me memorize those words again?"

Seunghyun stilled and his smile went from manic to serene in a heartbeat. "It's something I did with my family every time the eclipse was happening. Since we've been living together for about two years now, I think it's time you learned it, yeah?"

Chanyeol found his intense frown weakening in the wake of the raw honesty in the other's eyes. He grudgingly looked away and huffed his concession. "Yeah, yeah. Bulltin' bastard..."

Seunghyun merely chuckled and leaned back to watch the sky. Chanyeol had taken the time then to watch everyone else who seemed to gather at the park just for the eclipse as well. There were voices and screams and laughter traveling on the breeze. He saw couples cuddling and kids running around with some adults yelling about equipment.

"It's starting," Chanyeol heard Seunghyun breathe. And just like that, the entire park became silent, the only sounds being those of passing cars.

Suddenly, something was shoved into his chest. The curly haired man held the pair of aviators in his hands, looking at his roommate dubiously. "These can't help me."

"Specially made for this occasion," Seunghun said, waving a pair of his own. "It's my spare in case I lose these babies."

"You're a strange man."

"Flattery gets you nowhere."

"."

"Not this one, lover boy. Now put them on and come here."

Chanyeol scooted closer and Seunghyun moved to kneel behind him, chin on hiscurls and large hands on his shoulders.

"I am not your --,"

"Shh! And just look at the damned sky!"

They both looked up through the aviators as the moon traveled a lazy path toward the sun. The sky darkened, a pseudo blanket of night that almost seemed like the coming of the fabled doomsday.

"Alright, Yeol," Seunghyun clapped his shoulders, almost painfully. "On three. One... Two..."

Chanyeol rolled his eyes, mentally giveing a long-suffering sigh before opening his mouth to recite.

"Per speculum, cogitant in altera vita, in armis versis horologii..."

The sun was finally eclipsed and the park erupted into a bout of cheering. Chanyeol still couldn't find the significance and discovered the mood rather anticlimactic. He opened his mouth to say so when a sharp pain lanced through the side of his neck and spread upward to his jaw, teeth, cheeks, and nose. There was a loud keen in his ears, and an intense burning behind his eyes. His chest felt like it was trying to cave in, and his limbs numb. He couldn't breathe, couldn't think, couldn't...

"S-Seu--," he gasped.

His world faded around him, Seungghyun's voice invading the last of his senses. "Thank you, Chanyeol."

Hope you all come to enjoy this whenever I do get to update. Cliffhangers are best served short and sweet.

Wow okay what is going on. Now you have me more interested then I was before. Is Seunghyun some supernatural creature? Is it magic? You got my curiosity peaked.

Oh! Very nice introduction so far. I'm completely clueless as to what's going on but also rather captivated by the characters already. It kind of feels a bit like a 'They Live' sort of take on things but since I'm not entirely sure what significance the Aviators play for now, I can't tell just yet (though the title makes more sense now regardless!). Either way, I'm intrigued and definitely interested in seeing where this goes, pairings or not. Plus, you're killing me with that cliffhanger at the end. >.> Seriously. -_- lol
