Red Skys and Royal CardsLunch soon came around and I just sat in the classroom and kept remembering this morning. My thoughts were stopped during math when the teacher caught me not paying any attention so I didn’t get to let my thoughts wander much after that. But now that there was no one around to interrupt me I let my mind wander back again.
“Show me what you can do then Chanyeol.” I said ready to see just what could have happened if he had been in control.
“This is me at my strongest, this isn’t something you are going to try for a long time you understand?” He asked me sternly.
“I won’t even attempt it until you tell me I’m ready. Promise.” I assured him and I meant every word. If Chanyeol said I should even think of doing this then I was going to trust him that he was telling me this for my own sake.
Smiling Chanyeol stepped away from the group. Never loosing that smile of his he lifted his right hand into the air and behind him fire shot outwards on either side of him making a giant phoenix form from the flames. The phoenix made of fire stayed in the space behind Chanyeol for a minute until Chanyeol lowered his hand and his eyes met mine.
I thought it would end there but he had something hidden up that sleeve of his. “I told you I would show you what I can do with the full use of my powers, what you are seeing is just the first part.”
If I weren’t seeing this right in front of me I wouldn’t believe it. It seemed rather impossible and is hard to retell, it’s something that you have to see to be able to ever understand it. I still don’t know how it is actually possible but here it is happening.
The phoenix faded so only the wings were left behind Chanyeol. Great wings of fire stretching on either side of the giant in front of me reaching a wingspan on ten meter across. The fire rippled and flared before the wings moved, two powerful beats of the wings and Chanyeol’s feet lifted off the ground.
He was flying, like a damn bird; his wings made of fire were flapping and holding him above the ground like a freaking bird! If I weren’t seeing this happen in front of me I wouldn’t have thought it possible.
It shouldn’t be possible, being able to fly with wings made out of fire? That shouldn’t be possible, yet here I am seeing it in front of me. Here I am seeing that it is in fact possible.
Am just as it started it ended, Chanyeol landed on the ground and the fire wings disappeared as if they never existed. It was the most unbelievable and amazing thing I have ever seen before. And I was terrified of learning how to do that.
To my luck and absolute pleasure I wasn’t going to have to learn to do that for a long time. For now Chanyeol was just helping me learn how to control the fire. It was a good thing I couldn’t burn myself when I was tapped into his bond because the number of times my hands were encased in fire then should be ash by now. I had little burn holes in my top where the fire managed to burn through before Chanyeol made it fizzle away.
With a single thought I’m able to make a sphere of flames hover over my hand. It was the coolest thing ever. I would picture a ball of fire over my palm in my mind and as soon as the picture came into my mind the ball of fire would actually form over my outstretched palm.
The morning went on like that. I would try to copy what Chanyeol showed me, sometimes it worked others it was a completely failure. The times I got it right it was really cool to see the results and all of us were in awe at what I was able to do. The failed attempts? I shudder at the thought of half of them, at those times I am very thankful that Suho has a water Specialty and can douse the flames I create.
The first failed attempts weren’t all that bad, I got a little smoke, maybe a spark or two. After a while when I was able to control my Ability better those failed trials weren’t so innocent and simple. The first time it went wrong I lit Xium
