Red Skys and Royal Cards“Dealers, you have been explained the rules for this fight. Do you understand and accept them?” A supervising teacher spoke from the platform as they looked down at them.
“Yes.” The two third years called back in unison.
“Summon your Warriors.” The two third years followed the instructions and pulled their Cards out summoning the Warriors they would use during the fight. Each Summoned three Warriors. “You may begin.”
“Air and Water.” Xiumin whispered into my ear from behind me.
I leaned back and smiled at him, “Thanks.” I went back to watching the battle about to begin before me. Yet currently I seem to be the only one aside from my Warriors who are placing their full attention on the fight. This B.A.P seemed to have pulled the attention from everyone else.
I paid no attention to what the Dealer’s were saying to their Warriors, and just focused on the fight and powers. Unlike when we trained in class, where it was just their Specialties being used to go up against the opposing Warriors, these Warriors actually got close enough to physically fight one another. It wasn’t just their powers being used it was also hand-to-hand combat.
It was beautiful the way one of the water Specialty Warriors spun around to kick an opposing Warrior in the chest, but as his foot moved through the air water particles began to form around his foot. The force and pressure of the water was able to send the Warrior he hit stumbling back, had he not made the air blow behind him the Warrior would have landed on the ground.
Deadly sharp needles of water were flying through the air imbedding themselves in one of the Warriors, while he tried to block them with a shield of blowing wind – it didn’t do much.
I could already tell the direction the fight was going in. But it was still anyone’s win. Encasing the Warriors in water didn’t work since pockets of air could be created within.
This match had gone on for fifteen minutes before the last command was spoken. As I expected the Dealers with the Air Cards won. A simple twister all three Warriors created together that up the opposing Warriors before launching them into the ground, unmoving.
“Match!” Came the teacher’s booming voice. The two Dealers called their Warriors back and the field was left with just the two of them standing there. Some student’s clapped and a few hollered at their friends that won with cheerful voices.
The six boys on the platform just watched as they exchanged words among one another. The one closest to the end got up after nodding to the others and made his way down to the field. The squealing for the girls around the field increased in volume as hey all watched the boy move.
I just shook my head and got up, my Warriors following my lead as we pushed our way though the now crowded stands. The perimeter around the field was packed with students trying to get a look at this boy, which I just wanted to leave and find another match to watch.
With the help of the boys we were able to get out of the mass congregation of Dealers and onto the field so we could leave. The boy that came down from the platform was standing near the Dealer that lost the previous match. He was talking to the Dealer who kept his eyes trained on the ground, nodding his head every once in a while.
I shook my head and sighed as I watched them interact as we got closer to walk past them and go on our way. I watched as it seemed the third year was showing the other Dealer utmost respect and submission as he listened to him talk. I don’t know who the black haired Dealer was that seemed to radiate authority to those in close proximity and I honestly don’t care.
He’s just another stuck up Dealer who relishes in his position and fame, which he clearly has if the mass amount of lingering people doesn’t attest to it. I can’t see what these kids like about this boy, and the rest of his friends for that matter. They most likely do not know him personally, or have even talked to him before. It’s his name and title they fawn over, no the actual person which is just stupid.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” I sighed as I stopped and looked down as my foot that stepped into a small puddle of water left over from the battle.
Removing my now wet shoe I gave a small smile to my boys to let them know I was fine. I tapped into my bond with Suho real quick when I was sure no one was paying me any attention and made the water flow away from my wet shoe and back into the ground.
“Careful where you do that.” Suho whispered to me as he came up beside me. “Someone’s watching.”
I looked around to see who was watching us walk when my eyes landed on the black haired Dealer most people had their attention on. His eyes were trained right on me with the utmost focus and I swear ther
