Red Skys and Royal Cards“Hey Chanyeol come you come with us for a second?” Baekhyun asked the younger as he passed the living room where the others were still gathered. All eyes were still on Tao as he sat there squirming, clearly he has yet to say anything and I doubt he will want to bring up the moment since he seems rather embarrassed over it.
“Sure thing.” Chanyeol chirped as he bounced his way over to us. “What’cha need me for?”
Baekhyun led us outside; the rainbow hues of the light fell from the sky in an amazing way. If I could capture this on picture there would be nothing more beautiful, but I really don’t think anything could capture how beautiful this is other than seeing it first hand.
“Shouldn’t we wait until dark first though?” I questioned Baekhyun as we stopped out by Luhan’s stones.
“You’ll see the real difference if you compare it with natural light.” Baekhyun answered as he sat down, leaning against the closest stone. “Chanyeol, I’m trying to prove to Sky here that fire is the worst natural light so I need you to make a flame for us.”
“Hyung, my fire is pretty and fun, it is not ugly and useless for light.” Chanyeol whined back as Baekhyun insulted part of his Specialty.
“Just show her and ask her for her opinion.” Baekhyun told him. “I’ll guarantee I’m not the only one who thinks this way.
Growling his displeasure at his Hyung insulting the beauty he was able to create he let a whirl of fire at his hand before a single flame flared over his palm. “So, it isn’t bad right Sky?” Chanyeol asked his smile still on his face.
Seems I have to be the bearer of bad news. While I really wanted to tell Chanyeol that his fire wasn’t as bad as Baekhyun was making it out to me, I can’t. Baekhyun gave it a rather apt description and I have to agree with him, fire is an awful light. No matter how natural it is it does not look pretty.
Clearly it is a natural light since it has those tinted rays of light that emit from it, but it is not smooth or nice. The light it gives off is tinted colors of red, orange and yellow, and while that wasn’t anything different from the light the sun gave us the way it moved was very different. Sunlight and other light tend to move in straight lines before bouncing off objects it hits, fire doesn’t do that, it doesn’t move straight and it doesn’t reflect.
The light produced from Chanyeol’s flame ripped through the other light rays in jagged, cut and would cut up, down and all around. If it hit something it stopped and just flowed up and down. And Baekhyun said this was the nice way to see fire, I really can’t seem to expect what an actual flame would look like.
“Sorry Chanyeol.” I told him, “Baekhyun is kind of right about his one. It is rather bad to look at.”
Chanyeol never lost his smile though which I was happy about, “That’s unfortunate, but it still looks pretty when you aren’t using you Ability with Baekhyun Hyung’s specialty, that’s all that really matters.”
Just like Chanyeol to find a positive about it. I can always count on him to be the happy one, the one to always see everything in the positive. “I’ve got one question though.” Chanyeol said turning back after taking a few steps back towards the house.
“What is it?” I asked him as I settled on the grass across form Baekhyun.
“What happened between you and Tao, he isn’t saying anything.” I could feel both of them watching me closely as Chanyeol asked that one question. Seems Baekhyun just gave away what he wanted to know earlier.
I sighed, they were bound to find to eventually so I might as well tell them. It isn’t like Tao or I did anything wrong. “I woke him up last night for some help. Learned he slept shirtless and didn’t mind the view.”
“So nothing happened?” Baekhyun asked me before Chanyeol could voice the same question.
“Nothing but him helping me out when I needed it.” I told the honestly. And I was sure this wasn’t going to be the last time I saw any of them shirtless, Tao just happened to be the first. I’m living with them for heavens sake, I’m going to be living with twelve guys probably for the rest of my life so I’m bound to catch them walking around without shirts. Plus it isn’t like I haven’t gone swimming with D.O, Chanyeol and Luhan; I just didn’t really focus on their bodies much back then.
Now I kind of want to see what they have hidden. Tao has a beautifully sculpted body, no doubt the others do. I’m not a ert or anything, but no one can deny these boys have got the looks to turn heads and I’m not immune to it. I just don’t think of them that way, at least I don’t think I do.
The two of them seemed to accept what I told them and Chanyeol started going back to the house. But once again he stopped short. “Sky?” He called.
“Yes Chanyeol, what is it now?”
“You didn’t wake Tao up to ask him for help with time did you?”
I blinked, “Yeah that’s why I needed him, what of it?” I answered.
Baekhyun chuckled and Chanyeol’s face darkened, “That boy is so dead.” Baekhyun said between little giggles. “He should know better then to play with time like that.”
Chanyeol smiled like he always did before spinning around and making his way back inside, but his happy façade was ruined when he let the door slam behind him. He smiles even when we is angry, or course he would do that.
“Let’s get back to our lesson then shall we?” Baekhyun questioned pulling my thoughts away form the house and back to him.
“Let’s.” I said as I waited for him to tell me what to do.
“So like I said in the library, grabbing natural light is a little more tricky. Unlike artificial light you can’t just grab a piece and tear it off like you did previously. Natural light can’t be ripped since it wasn’t fabricated, I said it was harder in the way that you have to let it detach a
