The monster's feast
Before the DawnA frightening smirk found its way to Kris's lips as he stood there, facing me. He kept looking at me and I felt his eyes penetrate the deepest, darkest corners of my soul. His gaze was not the soft loving one I was so used to. It was different, it was evil. He looked at me like a predator ready to hunt his pray, which I was sure he would the moment he feels any sign of weakness of my part. I tried to stay strong and not give anything away, but I couldn't help it as my knees started to shake and my eyes gave away the consuming fear that took over me. The happy lighthearted moment we shared seconds ago was completely gone, replaced now by terror, fear, and anger.
I was furious.
For years I have been mourning the death of my family, convinced they were killed in a car accident. I lived with no family, no support, and no memories. I was alone for so long and when I finally thought I was happy, the man who turned my world upside down turned out to be the same man who ruined that world in the first place.
Talk about Irony.
The change of my state ,unfortunatly, didn't go unnoticed by Kris. And as he stood before me, his mocking smirk only grew wider, and the look in his eyes darkened.
-You finally remember! The words came out in a whisper that made the hair on the back of my neck stand. His voice was no longer the soothing comforting voice I turned to for comfort, all I could hear now was a disgusting low hiss, similar to a snake's. And
