Jonghyun's POV

"Alright, team captains will be..." the teacher surveyed the scene, "Jonghyun and Minho."

Minho pumped his fist in the air but I just rolled my eyes and went to stand beside him.

"Minho will pick first," the teacher began, "I'll be by the bench making sure you guys play nice. Everybody know the rules?"

"Yes songsaengnim," everyone sang.

The teacher beamed at us before taking her place.

"I guess we should start," Minho glanced over at the whole class then turned to Onew, who was on the far left edge.

Onew looked at him hopefully and Minho replied with a thumbs up.

"I pick Taemin," he pointed to Taemin, who raised an eyebrow before lining up behind Minho.

Why didn't he pick Onew?

I furrowed my eyebrows before turning back to face the class.

"I pick—"

Before I finished my sentence, Hyun Ji skipped towards me.

"...H-Hyun Ji, I guess," I stuttered when she shot me a huge grin.

Luckily, nobody noticed.

While Minho thought about who to choose next, Hyun Ji leaned closer towards me.

"Can you pick Onew next?" she asked hopefully.

Great.

Onew. Again.

"No," I said bluntly, "Plus, he's not even here."

Hyun Ji's eyes widened and she quickly looked around.

Sure enough, he had vanished from his spot on the soccer field.

Onew's POV

Since Minho knew that I was going to confess to Hyo Rin today, he decided not to pick me first.

So after silently thanking him, I hesitantly tapped Hyo Rin on her shoulder.

"Uh, c-can you come with me to the water fountain?" I asked nervously.

"Sure," she shrugged with a smile.

Step One, complete.

Making sure the teacher didn't see us, I led her around the corner of the building.

A huge blue lunch table rested against the wall.

"Can you sit down first?" I gestured to the seat.

"I thought you were getting water?" Hyo Rin raised an eyebrow but sat down nonetheless.

"First I need to do something," I said cheekily before squatting down in front of her.

Quick as Key when he sees pink, I pulled of one of Hyo Rin's platform boots.

"Don't tell me you're going to steal my shoes..." Hyo Rin said amusedly.

I took her other one off and placed both of them neatly on the table.

"Jang Hyo Rin," I grabbed both of her hands and stood her up. I tried not to grin when I saw that she was shorter than me now.

"I..." I gulped and felt nervousness take over.

But this is my chance.

"I-I really like you! Willyoubemygirlfriend?" I said in a rush.

Hyo Rin's eyes widened and I felt my ears redden.

"Y-your girlfriend?" she stuttered.

I nodded and held my breath.

"The truth is..." she began, looking away, "I really like you too!"

"R-really?!" my jaw dropped open and I hugged her tightly.

"Y-yes," she whispered, her face red.

At that moment, my heart was beating so fast I thought it would explode.

"So what exactly do boyfriends and girlfriends do?" Hyo Rin looked at me curiously when I pulled away.

I blinked.

I never thought about it.

"Well, they really love each other," I smiled and she blushed.

She's so pretty when she does that.

"They get married when they're older," I continued, "And they buy babies from the hospital."

"Really?" Hyo Rin's mouth formed an "O."

"But that's like twenty years from now," I said thoughtfully.

"So what do we do now?" she said nervously while putting on her shoes.

"For now, c-c-can I hold your hand?" I stuttered.

Hyo Rin looked surprised but she still held out her hand.

Trying not to grin too much, I clutched her hand firmly.

Together, we made our way back to the soccer field.

Ah!

But I forgot something super important.

With that thought, I turned to Hyo Rin and kissed her on the cheek.

"Now it's official!" I announced happily.

Hyo Rin's POV

I felt my whole face redden when Onew kissed my cheek.

I can't believe he likes me!

I always thought he was just being nice to me.

Since I'm really shy, I don't have a lot of friends.

Onew is really popular though and he's nice to everybody.

Now he's holding my hand and I can't stop staring at him.

"Do I have something on my face?" he asked worriedly as we walked over to Minho, who called a time-out.

"N-no," I said nervously, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. Having his hand around mine felt nice.

"I see everything went well," Minho smirked, resting his foot on top of the soccer ball.

Behind him, everybody ran around chasing each other.

"You knew?!" I widened my eyes at him.

He snickered.

"It's about time too!" he patted Onew on the shoulder.

Both of our faces reddened and we shot each other a glance.

"So, shall we play?" Minho glanced at our hands, which were still glued together, with a smirk.

Immediately, Onew and I pulled away.

"Okay, let's go!" the three of us smiled simultaneously.

Hyun Ji's POV

Did Onew just kiss Hyo Rin?!

And why was he holding her hand?

"Is something wrong?" Key walked over to me and followed my gaze, "Oh..."

"Are they 'in a relationship' now?" I used the phrase my older sister uses.

Key shot me a sympathetic glance.

"Probably. What are you gonna do?" he raised an eyebrow interestedly.

I frowned.

Sorry Hyo Rin, but Onew is my future husband!

"I will unleash all of my chamrs and make Onew fall in love with me! I won't stop until he does," I said determinedly.

"So you're going to be his stalker," Key noted in an amused voice, "Good luck with that..."

Taemin's POV

"So are you two married now?" I eyed Onew and Hyo Rin while the soccer ball made its way across the field.

"Ah, Taemin," Minho grinned, "They're just dating."

Dating.

Another word to add to my vocabulary. Must write that down later...

"So when's your first date?" I asked curiously.

"Anywhere as long as we're together," Onew hugged Hyo Rin from behind.

"How about the zoo? We have a field trip there tomorrow," Minho suggested before jogging away to intercept the soccer ball.

"W-would you like to go to the zoo with me?" Onew asked cutely.

Hyo Rin nodded shyly.

Hmm, a zoo huh?

Maybe I'll see a hippo!

The next day...

Jonghyun's POV

Word spread like wildfire that Hyo Rin and Onew were "together."

For some reason though, Hyun Ji didn't seem sad at all.

Maybe she gave up on him..?

Then...maybe I should use this field trip as an opportunity to finally confess to Hyun Ji.

I mean, if Onew can confess, then I, Kim Jonghyun, should be able to confess. Right?!

With that in mind, I dressed for school and arrived early.

Key was talking to Hyun Ji, but he walked away with a smirk when he saw me coming.

"Did you come early so you two could sit next to each other on the bus?" Key sang before walking away.

I pulled my hat down farther to hide my red ears before walking over to Hyun Ji.

"Are you excited to see the zoo?" I asked, trying not to sound too interested.

Hyun Ji nodded and glanced behind me.

I followed her gaze and saw Onew and Hyo Rin coming to school together. Taemin and  Minho were close behind them.

"Of course! I have the perfect plan to get Onew to fall in love with me!" she grinned.

My smile fell.

"Are you serious?" I asked angrily, spinning around to face her.

Hearing my tone, Hyun Ji immediately switched her attention to me.

"You'll help me...right Oppa?" she begged.

"...Fine..." I grumbled, secretly happy she called me that.

Anyways, Onew has Hyo Rin.

So I have nothing to worry about.

Onew's POV

As soon as we arrived at the zoo, Minho's mom took Minho, Taemin, Hyo Rin and me to see all the animals.

We fed the elephants peanuts and we saw one try to eat Key with its trunk.

Taemin kept track of all the animals we saw in his notebook.

The whole time, I kept glancing at Hyo Rin, who was looking around excitedly.

"This is fun," she said softly with a grin.

I nodded and hugged her impulsively.

"What was that for?" she raised an eyebrow amusedly.

"To show you that I love you. Duh," I grinned and stuck my tongue out at her.

Behind us, Taemin tapped Minho on the shoulder.

"Don't you think they look like koalas? I mean look at the way he's hugging her," Taemin giggled.

"That my friend, is love," Minho chuckled.

Yup. Love.

Meanwhile...

Jonghyun's POV

"A CHICKEN?!" the chaperone screamed.

I bit my lip guiltily and beside me, Hyun Ji shifted in her seat.

"You two tried to steal a CHICKEN?!" she gasped and held onto the desk for support.

The zoo keeper eyed us grimly.

"The girl was leaning over the fence and the boy was holding onto her to make sure she didn't fall in," he explained.

Our chaperone turned to us.

"You two tried to steal a chicken?!" she repeated, still in shock, "WHY?!"

I turned to Hyun Ji, who kept her lips closed.

Guess she's not going to admit that she thought giving Onew a live chicken would make him fall in love with her.

"We wanted to eat it," I said shortly.

The zoo keeper stared at us, horrified.

"Could you forgive them? They're just kids," the chaperone pleaded.

He shook his head.

"I'm terribly sorry, but the chicken they tried to steal was the biggest chicken in the world. I'm afraid we can't overlook this," he said gravely, "They must be punished."

With that, he took a picture of Hyun Ji and me. Then, he typed something up and showed it to us.

Our picture and names were blown up onto the page.

Great.

My first field trip in my life.

And I end up with a lifetime ban from the zoo.

LOL. How many of you thought Hyun Ji would come up with an evil plan? XD

Don't worry, she's not evil. When I say not evil, I mean she won't plot to destroy Hyo Rin or anything. LOL
