JACKIE’s POV

I can see that my brother is not excited about the wedding. I don’t think excitement will be absent in him if he really do plan to marry Krystal. I know how this dork acts when he get excited about the something that he really wants. He will become so hyper, annoying and loud. Big smiles, wide grins and loud laugh will be seen and heard to him. But now, I only see him flashing a weak smile. That is why I know, that there is something wrong.

“I will talk to our parents tonight and I will call off the engagement.” He spoke weakly which got me surprised.

“W-Why?” I questioned in disbelief. I didn’t expect that he will say that now.

“It’s because I don’t want to get married yet.” He replied trying to sound like he doesn’t care.

“Why don’t you give me the real reason so I will understand you.” I said to him and his expression dropped into a frown.

He did not answer me and just keep silent. I can see the pain in his eyes and it made me wonder why he is in pain. Could it be that Krystal doesn’t love him as we thought she does?

“If you call off the engagement, Dad will surely get mad at you and Mom will be disappointed. They were both anticipating and excited for your wedding, you know.” I stated.

“I know.”he replied briefly.

“And Dad will cut off in our family.” I added.

“I already prepared myself for that.”he answered.

“You are aware that I can’t take you in, right?” I reminded him and he nodded his head. “It looks like you already had planned that and made up your mind.”

“I will go to China and stay with Jiejie.” He said which made me raised my brows.

“When are you planning to leave?” I questioned him.

“After our finals.” He answered and I nodded my head.

“Are you sure about not marrying Krystal? You do love her, right?” I asked him.

“Yeah, I think I do.” He answered and flashed a faint smile.

“Before you left, tell her about how you feel. Who knows, she might have fall in love with you along the way.” I told him with a smile as I pat him on his back.

“Ailee-noona said the same thing to me.” He answered and scoffed.

“Oh! That reminds me, take me to her house.” I said and jump off from my seat.

AMBER’s POV

We pay a visit to Ailee-noona. They talked a lot of girl stuffs, catching up with each other. It is already evening when we got back in our house with Noona for the family dinner. I took a seat next to Krystal and Ailee-noona is across me. Sica and Jackie are sitting across with each other. Dad’s on the head of the table on each side and Moms on Dad’s right side.

“Since we are all here, I will take this time to inform Amber and Krystal what we had decided.” Mr. Jung spoke. He looked at my Dad motioning him to continue what he started.

“We decided for you two to get married on 24^th.”Dad followed.

Well they flashed a happy smile except to those who knew what I was about to do. Honestly, I feel nervous right now. I can see in Jackie’s eyes that she doesn’t want me to tell our parents about what I had decided. I see the same look in Ailee-noona’s eyes.

“Dad, why did you move our wedding?” I questioned him. “And it is on Krystal’s birthday.” I continued.

“Well, we thought that since you are living under in the same roof, why not marry you two? Besides, you are getting well along with each other so there is no need to wait too long.” Dad replied to me with a grin. He is obviously excited about it.

“And we thought that the earlier you two have kids the better.” Uncle Jung said with a smirk on his face which got me a little bit surprised.

I curved an awkward smile to him and turn to Krystal who is just looking down. I guess she got shy of what her Dad had said. I just go along with what our Dads were talking about. The two of them did most of the talking. Moments after our dinner, our guest already left. Krystal decided to sleep in their house and I decided to stay with my parents. Our driver took Noona to her house.

“I think this is it.” I mumbled to myself as I took a deep breath.

 I approached my Dad and Mom who is in our living room watching some late news. Jackie is also with them and I think she wants to witness what is going to happen. I cleared my throat to get my parents attention. They both lifted their heads to look at me.

“Dad, Mom, I have something to tell you.” I started.

“What it is about? Is that something important?” Dad questioned me after he turned down the volume of the TV.

“It is very important.” I replied.

They both raised their brows and their stare made me feel more nervous. I mentally calm down myself and swallowed the lump that formed in my throat.

“I am not going to marry Krystal.” I said to both of them.

There is a brief moment of silence and I think they find it hard to process in their head what I just had said. I can see my Dad’s calm face starts to get furious. Rage is slowly building in his eyes.

“What did you say?” he asked in a stern voice.

“I will call off the engagement. I had no plan to marry Krystal, that idea never cross my mind not even once.” I stated and Dad abruptly stood up from his seat.

I gather up my courage to meet my Dad’s piercing eyes. Mom has a shock expression on her face but then she then looked at me with disappointment in her eyes. I expected that look of her though.

“You love Soojung, right honey?” Mom asked me with soothing voice as she stood up.

“No, I don’t. I just pretend that I love her so that you will believe that we had good relationship and won’t cut me off in our family. I was planning to leave her right after I graduate college but since you moved our wedding date earlier than what you had planned before, I decided to drop my act.” I lied.

Right after I said those words, Dad suddenly hit me with his hand on my face which totally got me shocked. My face is burning in pain and my eyes become teary because of it. I did not expect that. Mom is stopping him from hitting me again. I just stood still because I don’t know what to do anymore.

“You shameless bastard! All this time you are just fooling us!”Dad said to me with anger in his voice. “You didn’t bring anything good in this family but only shame! Get out of my house! Don’t dare to show your face in front of us. From this day onward, you are no longer part of this family! Leave!”

“Come on, Am.” Jackie said as she grabbed my arm and dragged me out of our house. “You idiot! You don’t need to utter those lie. You only worsen the situation and made yourself look bad.” She said to me.

“I need to make him angry so that he won’t insist anymore about the marriage. It’s the easiest way.” I replied to her.
