"I don't know what made me delay so much, maybe I wanted to deny my feelings for you because I didn't feel worthy of you and.... Suddenly you appeared out of nowhere in Japan and-and said all those things and I-" he stammered, his breath getting caught and making him unable to breathe evenly. The machines beside him started to beep uncontrollably, yet he tried to continue. "I-I'm sorry Chae, I-I... I l-love you I..." His voice turned into whispers and he felt like he was dropped into the ocean and his lungs couldn't take it anymore.

"O-Oppa! Opp- Try to b-breathe..." Chaerin muttered helplessly as she reached for his hand and screamed. "DOCTOR!" she kept screaming until her voice got muffled with the sound of the door crashing open with Dr. Yoo and 2 other nurses barging in. 

"You will have to leave ma'am." the younger nurse said as she retracted her hand from Jiyong's and urged her to leave the room. "Please."

"No! I need to stay, I n-need-" she shook her head violently as she struggled against the nurse's grip, her eyes still on Jiyong as Dr. Yoo ripped his medical uniform open and yelled something at the other nurse who quickly dictated the numbers on the monitor as she injected something to his IV while Dr. Yoo held his pager and punched the screen.
"Sister. Miss Lee out right now." he raised his voice as he pointed to the door.

"Yes doctor." the nurse holding Chaerin replied. "ma'am please. You need to leave now." she pled. Knowing that she was probably creating a scene she gave up and helplessly grabbed the nurse's arm as they got out of the room.

"What happened? H-he'll be okay right?Dr. Yoo said it was nothing serious. B-but....  He was fine a few minutes ago, h-he was talking to m-me." he was telling me he loved me. 

I need to tell him too.

 Her eyes moistened as she searched the nurse's eyes. "He'll be fine.... Right?"
The nurse smiled and squeezed her hands as she said the most comforting words Chaerin had ever heard.

"He will be fine. I promise." 

"Chaerinnie! W-What happened?" Youngbae sprinted forward, not bothering if the contents in the bag he was holding spilled. "Is he okay?" 

"I d-don't know oppa. We were just.... Talking a-and suddenly he..." she swallowed hard, feeling dizzy and tired all at the same time. "They took him to the operation theatre just minutes ago. I-I still haven't heard anything s-since then." 

"Ssh!" Youngbae dropped the bag and held her in his embrace as she sobbed lightly onto his chest. "He's a fighter Chae. H-He'll be alright. I know it." he cooed as he placed his chin on her forehead and closed his eyes, trying to convince himself the words that sputtered out of his lips.

"H-How could something like this happen? Dr. Yoo s-said it wasn't that serious." Chaerin mumbled as she placed her hands on Youngbae's chest and lifted her head to look at him. "They said it wasn't serious..."

"it'll be alr-" Youngbae stopped midway when Dara arrived from behind him holding the same carry bag as Youngbae had carried earlier. 

"Pudong-ah!" Dara handed the bag to Youngbae as he took a step behind and Dara replaced his previous position as she wrapped her arms around her Dongsaeng. "Are you alright?"

"I'm good. B-But Unnie, H-he..." she didn't continue as her Unnie hushed her.

"If you think negatively, it will happen like that okay. So... Think positive." she pulled away and smiled. "As hard as it is. Try."
Chaerin shifted and pressed the bridge of her nose as she nodded.

"You look like a mess." Dara stated as she tucked the bangs away from Chaerin's face. "I brought you something to change in." she smiled patting her Dongsaeng. "You can change in the staff's rest room. I already asked for the permission." she said asking Youngbae to hand her the bag pack her was carrying.

"Go~"

"We'll be in the cafeteria okay?" Youngbae smiled. Chaerin nodded obediently as she grabbed the bag and headed to the staff's rest room.

"Here!" Dara waved her hand in the air as Chaerin stepped into the almost empty cafeteria with just a few people sitting on the tables. 

"Thank you." 

 "What for?" Youngbae whipped his head up and stared at Chaerin.

"I don't know what I would have done if it weren't for the two of you." she drew circles on her watch and smiled weakly. "I couldn't stay strong for him. When all he needs right now is our support. I-I couldn't even keep myself together, I don't know if I'll be able to handle anything like this in the future. I'm not even strong enough for myself. How can I be for him?" sighing helplessly, she watch the two couples at the other end of the cafeteria holding hands while the boy had his head on the table, probably sleeping. While the girl ran her hand softly through his hair.

"You were in shock, it's pretty understandable." Youngbae replied. Waving off her self accusation. "I've never seen this side of you Lee Chaerin. The self pitying kind." he made a funny face and continued.

"I don't like it."

Chaerin couldn't help but chuckle and that bought the other two breathe normally for the first time since they arrived the hospital. Although it was Jiyong who was in the OT right now, it felt like a part of Chaerin was as sick as him, thinking she'd fall unconscious any second from too much worrying.

"Much better." Youngbae smiled then slowly stood up, searching for his phone in his pocket. "I'll go and check up on things." He pat his pocket then bent down to kiss Dara's temple. "Meanwhile. Eat something okay?" he said to Chaerin and she nodded. 
Dara lifted the bags from her side as Youngbae left and chuckled.

"Youngbae threw them so carelessly so almost all the gravy spilled." she laughed and opened the stained chinese food containers. "We could save only this much." 

"I don't feel hungry Unnie." Chaerin mumbled but was hushed immediately as a pair of chopsticks was shoved into her palms. "Eat. I don't want you to faint from exhaustion and stress. You are my responsibility for now." she said as she pointed at the containers.

Chaerin quickly finished eating as her stomach couldn't take the food at such an unruly hour. Dara decided to let her off the hook and the two cleaned off the table.

"Are you really fine Chae-ah?" Dara asked as they sat on the couch in the waiting room. 

"I'm not the one who's sick Unnie." Chaerin replied lightly. "I'm perfectly fine."

"Alright then." Dara nod and pushed her dongsaeng's head on her shoulder and the latter complied easily.

"H-He....." Chaerin mumbled, but didn't continue as tears threatened to fall. I cant do this. She couldn't be seen as someone who was weak.

Most of all, she wanted to be strong for him.

"Hm..." Dara hummed as she laid her head on top of Chaerin's.

"He said he loves me."

"What?" Dara hadn't really meant to react the way she's did. Of course she has Youngbae now, but hearing what Jiyong said to Chaerin hurt her in as way that shouldn't have. She wasn't sad, she wasn't angry. She just felt..... Void.
A space in her heart she knew would never be filled, because she knew from the beginning that Jiyong and Chaerin belonged to each other and that she'd never be as special her, although she didn't want to take that from her. All she had ever wanted was for Jiyong to look at her once, like the way he looks at Chaerin.

"Unnie?" Chaerin lifted her head up and placed her palm on Dara's thigh. 

"Uh-Yeah! W-what'd you say?" she quickly replied, trying to not look unattached.

"I couldn't say anything. T-That's what was bothering me the whole time." she swallowed. "-If something happened to him before I could even tell him how I felt about him." closing her eyes she smiled weakly.

"I..... Love him."

Dara couldn't help but let her lips curve into a smile. As much as she had wished she were the one, she knew she'd never be able to replace Chaerin. She accepted this fact long ago, hearing that Jiyong loved her, somehow, sparked old sparks which shouldn't have even started. 
Looking at Chaerin, she knew.... She knew why Jiyong loved her.
She thought silently as she pat her dongsaeng's shoulder and hugged her.

I love you Jiyong.

She thought bitterly.

But this time, I'm going to let you go. Because I found someone.
And I think I can finally let myself fall in love with him.

The void in her heart, vreated by her one-sided love for Jiyong no longer mattered.

Because the rest of the heart.

She'd give it all to Youngbae.

I know this isn't much and it's just mainly a filler. Idk. I'm having a massive writer's block and I can't seem to overcome it. I hope I didn't let you guys down, because that's the last thing I'd wanna do.
And about Jiyong... I know I said it wasn't something serious. But.. Well. I needed some drama and action. So, poor GD had to play the victim of my craving for drama. Haha. Sorry.

And yeah, I just wanted a closure between Jiyong & Dara, because I just couldn't let it hang like that. I absolutely love Dara and she deserves someone who loves her too no? :)
