Chapter 4

Follow my Lead

Whoa a chapter 4?! That's the longest I've ever managed to stay with any of my stories .-. ugh why is Kris the one I have to be writting about? ;; sobs cries in a corner, don't answer that question! I'm having like the hardest time with how to put this story together.... so here's my chapter of just winging it. Hope it doesn't turn out as horrible as I feel like it's gonna be.

----

The bell to end class ran in your classroom, and you decided to stay behind to make sure you got things off the board before you left. Joonhee gently nudged your side before walking out of the classroom. It was usually a 'See you later' nudge but for some reason it felt a bit different. Instead of pondering on the question of why,  you focused writing the assignments down in your planner for the class. It was one of the classes you actually cared about passing and sometimes it was hard to focus when somebody or something like a fake relationship is on your mind.

Once the small list was written down, you packed up your planner and book bag, and headed for the door. You took a quick deep breath to gather your thoughts and opened the door to head out for the lunch break ahead of you. The sunlight shining outside of the dark classroom left you for a moment to adpat to the light change. Your vision came back into focus and you couldn't help but recognize a familar figure. A tall figure that is. Of course, he was taller than everybody else around him.

Your lips curled into a smile and your heart couldn't help but flutter at the sight of him. Your footsteps scurried over to him and you couldn't stop your body from diving into his for a tight bear hug. Those hugs you'd usually give him after a long weekend of not seeing him.

"Kris! How many times do I have to tell you that you don't have to wait for me outside of my classroom? I can meet up with you later."

"Well you're supposed to be my girlfriend so I should see you right away. Besides, now you don't have to worry about walking all the way over to the other side of the school so be thankful." Kris couldn't help but chuckle with a light flick on the top of your head. Your lips formed a small pout subconciously and his throat let out a chuckle. "Now c'mon, I don't wanna head to Psychology by myself."

The two of you walked side by side, like usual to that classroom where this all started.

--

"Hold on!" Kris hushed panicked voice stopped you once your hand reached out for the door. You looked over at him with a confused look, and he reached out his arm to link onto yours. "Can't let her see us like normal; we're supposed to be dating."

You shook your head at how silly it might have sounded, but linked arms with him anyway. He still had a point. Kris nervously took a small gulp before staring at the door in front of him. He was nervous to go into that class, even if he had a 'girlfriend' with him. Why did he have to choose now to be cute, of all times? You pushed him back with your free arm and opened the door yourself, sinking your arm down to grab onto his hand instead.

It seemed like you had to be in control since he wasn't sure what he was doing. If that were the case, you'd like to hold hands instead of linking arms. Feels a bit closer that way.

Once you two entered the room, you could have sworn you could hear all the sharp breaths and gasps from the other students. Your eyes trailed along the room and saw that pretty much all the strangers of the room were too busy paying attention to their papers or cell phones in their hands. Although, there were very familiar eyes on you guys. It was no other than the small group you always sat next to in the corner of the room. Their eyes happen to grow with each step closer you took. Kris reached his desk which was further away from yours and plopped down into the seat.

"What?" you finally asked the wandering eyes in front of you.

"So now?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what we mean," the girl sitting behind you started, leaning over to get your attention, "after months of low key flirting with each other, you're finally together?"

Your eyes grew once again and Kris just sighed with his fist covering his mouth to hide a smile.

"No! I promise it's-" before you could say more, Kris cleared his throat and chucked an eyebrow at you. Oh right. You had to make it believable and Ms. Nam was in the front of the class still. She could be listening at any moment. "Not like that. Since when was it low key?"

"Kris over here doesn't seem to know how to flirt right." The girl behind you chuckled and shoved his shoulder, causing the tall male to fall off the side of his desk.

"He doesn't know how to flirt!" one of the guys in front of you said with a laugh.

"Well... he doesn't need to." You leaned over and reached for Kris's hand, patting it with a soft smile across your lips. "He doesn't need to flirt; he just needed to say the word and I'm his."

Kris cleared his throat again and moved his hand on top of yours to intertwine his fingers with yours. "I'm not that bad. We just needed more time than others." His gaze looked at one of the guys in front of you. Clearly, he didn't seem to like him too much with his wanna be tough act. "Unlike most of these relationships in high school, I want us to last longer than just a couple weeks."

Before anybody could think of a response, the tap against the board at the front of the classroom silenced everybody.

"Looks like Ms. Nam wants to make an announcement." Kris gulped as he turned his attention to the older woman, with their eyes making contact for a moment.

"Pst. Kris, don't sweat so much; it'll make it more obvious," you leaned in to whisper quietly to him. He was always kinda awkward when it came to these things. Freaking out wouldn't be such a great help either, and you always wanted to calm him down. What else were friends for?

----

Okay so my laptop is somewhat working again (even though I need to get a new charger) and I finally feel human after being sick since... the week before new years .-. anyway I hope this was somewhat worth the wait! ^^;; bare with my lack of motivation skills .-. things are getting rough for me again .-.

and just on a side note, I've been obsessing over Double A and the hilarious moments on Exo Showtime where Kris is suffering x) my world hasn't been full of that many laughs in a while. I love it when he suffers^^ -coughs- I promise I don't love him.
