“Welcome-”

When you don’t know where to go but the weather has been so harsh, a library probably is not the first thing that comes into your mind. Some people might choose a cafe, some probably choose a cinema, even though there is no interesting movie to watch.

But not Sakura.

She was not a huge bookworm, as she’d rather read a comic book. But reading a book was totally not out of her list, but totally not on the top. She knew it, her friends knew it.

So why’d she choose a library when she knows her home was probably not that far?

“Oh my god, you’re drenched.”

Yeap, that sweet voice that has been haunting her from last week, when she accidentally stumbled into this library. Kwon Eunbi, was the name of the owner of that sweet voice, is also a librarian. Feeling a little embarrassed, Sakura could only rub the back of her neck.

“Yeah, I got caught in the rain.”

Bull, Sakura purposely walked slower than usual when she noticed the clouds turned gray and she was near the library.

Excuses, excuses.

“Come, but please don’t stand near the books. I don’t want them to get wet and damaged.”

Sakura nodded and walked closely to Eunbi. She could smell a sense of floral, and musk. Totally fit with Eunbi.

“Are you here to borrow another book?”

Her sudden question almost made Sakura tripped. Eunbi just giggled when she saw Sakura almost tripping on her own feet.

“O-oh, no. I haven’t finished the last book, and I was around here when it’s raining. So, here I am.”

Sakura just showed Eunbi her toothy grin, which Eunbi replied with a shake of her head.

“I’m not usually allowed someone to go inside when they are drenched-”

“So I’m special?”

Sakura laughed as she watched Eunbi roll her eyes. Even though they have only known each other for two weeks, they have a fair share of talking with each other to talk comfortably like this. But of course, not as close as saying one is special or not.

“In your dream, Miyawaki.”

They finally arrived at a staff lounge. Eunbi stopped in front of the door and turned around, facing Sakura.

“Wait here, I’ll get you a towel.”

Sakura nodded and watched Eunbi disappear into the staff lounge. Sakura decided to stand near the door, waiting for Eunbi.  She doesn’t have to wait that long when Eunbi appears from the exact door three minutes later.

“Follow me.”

Sakura couldn’t help but to tease the woman in front of her, again.

“Do you want me to keep following you? Because I will.”

After this incident, Sakura has always tried to go to the library at least twice a week, just to read a book. At least that’s what she said. She always comes when there are not many people in the library, and always makes sure to have a chat with Eunbi.

Sakura is a fast reader. That’s why after three days of reading a book she borrowed, she always has a reason to come back to return the book and borrow another one. Eunbi, ever the curious one, always asked Sakura about the book she had read. To be honest, she didn't believe her when she said she had finished the book. So Eunbi asking about the book is her way to check whether the other girl is lying or not.

And Sakura always proves her wrong.

One thing that makes Eunbi curious, was how Sakura have so much free time to finished all the books she borrowed in a short time. The last time she asked, Sakura was not a student, and said she had finished her school and got her degree. ‘I don’t really have to go to the office.’ is that what Sakura said.

So when Eunbi hasn’t seen Sakura for a week now, it gets her worried. For the first three days, Eunbi doesn’t think much about it. Maybe Sakura was busy, or she hasn’t finished the book, or maybe even lost the book and is now having a hard time buying the same book. But now it has been more than a week, Eunbi couldn’t help but feel worried.

“Has something happened to her?”

Eunbi couldn’t help but think out loud, as she was cleaning up the books. It was almost closing time too. Eunbi stopped herself in front of one of the racks, and she remembers Sakura always sitting around here. Eunbi turned her head toward her working desk, where Sakura, and other people, have come to when they are about to borrow some books. It crossed her mind that she actually has Sakura’s address.

“... Should I?”

Eunbi bit her lips, still thinking it was not a good idea to abuse her power like this. Besides, anything could happen. Maybe Sakura was indeed busy, and maybe she would come tomorrow like usual. Or maybe, she was just missing the presence of someone who always bothers her, in a good way. The one who always managed to bring a smile into her lips, and never failed to give her a disgusted expression when she threw some of her weird jokes.

Maybe, she was just thinking too much.

Eunbi sighed before she walked back to her desk, about to check the borrowed books when her fingers were typing away Sakura’s name. She doesn’t even know why she did that, but the data was shown before her anyway. Her full name, her ID numbers, and her address. It was actually pretty close to the library, now it makes sense how that girl always went to the library. Eunbi chuckled to herself  as she remembered how Sakura went to the library instead of her own home when it was raining hard.

Eunbi wrote down Sakura’s address and gathered her belongings before turning off her computer and closing down the library. With Sakura’s address in hand, she will probably take a detour before going home.

Eunbi stared at the house in front of her, feeling like her decision to come was a bad idea. But she couldn’t possibly just walk away and go back home. Although, she could. No one is around, Sakura didn’t know she was here, and she could just walk away, like nothing happened. But she already spent some of her time, and she doesn’t want to waste it by going back home.

“Okay, at least just make sure that she is okay and I’m going home. That’s all.”

Eunbi brought her finger to the bell, ringing it once, and then waiting. She doesn’t even bother to ring it a couple of times because her mind still thinks it was just nothing. Sakura is probably going abroad or something, or maybe visiting her family, as she recalls Sakura said her family was in Japan.

But when no one responded, Eunbi couldn’t help but ring t
