Yoseob’s POV

What should I do? I don’t know how to react, I feel like I should do something!

As I contemplate what to do, it’s my heart that drags me to her, like a leash on me.

My heart wouldn’t let someone else be miserable, and so I’m at it’s mercy.

My feet noiselessly step up to Sang-hee, I stand, frozen.

YOSEOB WHAT ARE YOU DOING! STAY AWAY!

NOTHING INVOLVING A GIRL WILL EVER COME OUT GOOD! YOU SHOULD HAVE LEARNED BY NOW!

My mind shouts at me, I must have gone around the bend.

It was White day. There was this girl in my class, she was so beautiful. Her laugh could make anybody grin. I should have known I had no chance.

But I had fallen for her too far. I’d been trying to get enough confidence to confess to her for a while. Today is the day, I told myself. Yang Yoseob, you will tell her today, for sure.

Right before the first bell, I dashed around to search for her.

My eyes settle on caramel locks, cascading off her shoulders and flowing down her back. There!

I run to the entrance of her classroom, where she stands.

“Na-young!” I call, desperately, running up to her.

The goddess in front of me turns, her pink lips turning in a small smile.

“Please…p- please accept me, N-Na-young, I really… r-really like you!” I stutter.

I look up and smile, handing her roses and a small stuffed panda-bear (her favorite animal)

She stares at me, for too long. Her smile has vanished, and has been replaced with an amused smirk.

“Yoseob, please stop. We both know you’re not for me. I don’t even like you. I can’t date someone who looks like a cute little baby. Wonder why none of us girls take you seriously? I need a MAN, and you don’t fit that requirement, not even close.”

My jaw drops. What can I do??? She thinks I look.. like..

She reaches out and takes the stuffed animal.

“Thanks for the panda~”

She giggles fakely, and turns around, walking into the classroom.

Her friend smirks at me.

“Good luck, cutie.” She jeers.

I drop the flowers and run. Anywhere, just away. My face felt wet from tears.

The sound of roaring laughter from her classroom fades behind me.

Never again. Never.

(still Yoseob’s POV)

Sang-hee slowly looks up at me. Her face is stained with tears, but when she realizes that I’m standing here, she quickly makes an effort to wipe them.

Baby face, a cute little baby face

Wincing, I look down, so she can’t see me, me and my baby face. How embarrassing.

Sang-hee’s POV

Yoseob’s standing here. He’s in my class, I haven’t really talked to him, but I think he’s friends with Junhyung.

He’s here.

Standing.

In front of me.

Crying me, pathetic me.

No! Please don’t look at me!

Thunk.

Oh no, he’s sitting next to me. He looks pained. He won’t even meet my eyes. Which is fine with me, I don’t mind. How embarrassing. He’s seeing me cry.

“Yah, Junhyung.” Doojoon says.

Junhyung still has his face buried in his hands.

“Pabo? Annyeong?” Kikwang teases.

The boys jump at a bizarre noise.

Glances are exchanged in confusion.

Hyunseung is the first to speak, surprisingly.

“What. The. Hell.” He whispers with wide eyes.

“Ohmygod.” Dongwoon tries to muffle his own giggling.

The boys look at him questioningly.

“Hyungs, Junhyung fell asleep ahaha!” The maknae is nearly falling out of his seat laughing.

“THAT WAS A SNORE?” Kikwang shrieks.

All heads, except Junhyung’s, turn to Kikwang.

DUMBKWANG! ,they all think.

Yoseob’s POV

I slowly turn to her. She’s wiping her face with her sleeve.

“Are y-you ok?” I stutter.

Wow. Intelligent sounding.

She looks at me for a moment. She looks like she’s trying to nod.

“What am I saying, you’re not ok.” I admit.

Sang-hee finishes wiping her face.

I’m blinded by her sudden grin.

Huh? WHAT IS WITH THIS GIRL, CRYING AND THEN SMILING?!

She smiles with clouded eyes. Oh she is so not feeling better.

“I-I’m Kim Sang-hee n-nice to meet y-you.” her voice quivers, I fear she might break into tears again.

She offers her hand to shake.

I scratch the back of my neck at her odd timing, and then slowly shake her hand.

Sang-hee’s POV

He finally takes my hand and shakes it.

“Uhhhh I’m Yang Yoseob… nice to meet you too..?”

He looks back at me with determination in his kind eyes.

“Don’t change the subject, Sang-hee-sshi. What’s wrong?” his hand rests on my shoulder. It’s so soft.

Sang-hee slowly tells Yoseob why she’s so upset, he seems to have a calming effect on her. Soon she is feeling better. They keep on talking for a long time.

“Yoseob-sshi,” she turns to him brightly.

He smiles back, “Oh drop the sshi, just call me oppa.”

She nods slowly, pondering it.

“Ok, Oppa, thank you for sitting here with me. I feel better already!”

He nods, grinning.

I feel the beginning of a friendship! , Sang-hee thinks to herself.

Yoseob happens to be thinking the exact same thing.

He abruptly places her bag in his lap and starts going through it.

“YAH!” Sang-hee thumps him on the arm, surprised.

Smiling, Yoseob takes her phone and punches in his contact info.

“Paranoid much?” he teases.

“Yes, now can I have my phone?” she pouts.

Back in the cafeteria, the boys enjoy the relaxed setting due to Junhyung being out of it.

“I wonder what Sang-hee’s like, she’s gotta be pretty damn friendly to piss Junhyung off that much. I mean, look, he threw such a hissy-fit that he exhausted himself.” Doojoon thinks aloud.

The other four heads nod in agreement.

Kikwang’s mouth forms an ‘o’ shape.

“Well, whoever she is, she’s got killer timing.”

All eyes follow his gaze to the cafeteria door, where Yoseob and Sang-hee are entering.
